Splinter Cell: Deniable Ops

One year ago Daniel Sloane-Suarez, codename: Archer, was tasked by NSA’s Third Echelon branch to track down stolen EMP tech in Russia, only to find clues and pieces to a much larger puzzle. When the EMPs went off in Washington D.C. and Archer found out that former Third Echelon director Tom Reed had backed President Caldwell into a corner, threatening assassination, he began to wonder if he was out of a job. To his luck, Sam Fisher – a rogue Splinter Cell-turned-vigilante – put a stop to Reed’s plan with the help of Third Echelon’s new director, Anna Grímsdóttir.

Today Third Echelon has a chance to redeem its shattered reputation for protecting the free world, before President Caldwell shuts it down for good. With one chance to turn things around, Archer has been redeployed to Russia, back to St. Petersburg to investigate the disappearance, or possible kidnapping, of the French ambassador’s fourteen year-old son whilst visiting the city. Archer’s last mission in St. Petersburg, one year ago, took him underneath the Banya restaurant and spa and through a secret brothel, where Andre Kobin’s associate, Boris Yeltsin, was known to control his drug and human trafficking business. Third Echelon wants Archer to pay him another friendly visit to find out what he knows.

Seeing as how Archer is operating in friendly territory, Third Echelon has asked Voron, Russia’s own special operations agency, to send Kestrel to provide assistance, once again, to Archer. The two raided the complex last year as a team. Will the mission go as smooth this time as it did last time? To provide further assistance, Third Echelon has allowed activation of more Splinter Cells, should Archer and Kestrel require their assistance.

The Armory

---Weapons… Toys that Go Bang

Splinter Cells and Voron agents are equipped with Five-Seven pistols attached with laser sights, reflex sights, and five magazines of twenty match grade ammunition rounds for superior range and accuracy. Both field operatives are also equipped with SC3000 assault rifles with adjustable gun stocks, suppressors, and five magazines of thirty hollow point ammunition rounds for optimum damage. Both weapons are as silent as whispers in the wind… so long as you don’t miss.

---Armor or a Fashion Statement?

Third Echelon provides all of their Splinter Cells with the new 3E Eclipse Mark 7 Special Ops Suit; used by their field operatives for covert operations.

Voron field agents are provided with the new VR SV1 Akula Special Ops Suit; used by their field operatives for covert operations.

---Gadgets and Goodies

Third Echelon Mission Briefing

Hanson: Alright, here’s the sit. rep. Archer, Kestrel: we need you two to infiltrate Boris Yeltsin’s spa and restaurant, called the St. Petersburg Banya, completely undetected. Boris will probably be down in his basement brothel. Once you reach him, interrogate him using any means necessary to gain as much intel as you can on our target’s whereabouts.

The target’s name is Maxim Réynold; the fourteen year-old, and only, son of the French ambassador to Russia, Joseph Réynold. Voron has confirmed intel that Maxim was kidnapped by human traffickers, and the only major crime lord left in St. Petersburg, after a Spetznaz raid two years ago, is Yeltsin. The target is approximately five-foot; two inches and weighs 139 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt and faded blue jeans.

You’ll be inserted right outside the Banya in the same alleyway that you came in last time. Make your way into the annex building, through the spa, and across the courtyard into the main restaurant. After that, head deep into the basement to find the secret brothel that Yeltsin will more than likely be taking refuge in. Watch out down there. Satellite scans may show nothing but valid targets up top, but the brothel will probably have a lot of innocents. There is to be no weapons fire inside the brothel. We don’t want to risk an international incident by letting a stray bullet strike a friendly. Also, the Russian government has asked us to take out Boris once and for all when this is all over with; so when you see him, tell him Russia says goodbye… after you interrogate him, of course.

Remember, this is to be a deniable op; meaning we were never there. So try not to make your presence known.

Grimm: The Banya's security systems have been upgraded since you two last visisted the area in 2010. Not only is it filled with jumpy mercenaries carrying automatic weapons, but its been outfitted with random laser grids, infrared security cameras, and the occasional .50 cal gun turret controlled by individual operators in remote locations in the buildings. You'll need to avoid detection at all costs, even if that means eliminating a few key hostiles. Just make sure you keep it clean and discreet. We don't need anyone sounding an alarm and conducting a search.

I'm authorizing the activation of more Splinter Cells, and Russia is also authorizing the deployment of more Voron operatives should you two need their assistance. All operatives on standby have already been briefed on what's going on and are ready for your call.

Good luck out there.

Primary Objectives:
1. Obtain the location of Maxim Réynold by interrogating Boris Yeltsin
2. Secure Maxim
Secondary Objectives:
1. Eliminate Boris Yeltsin
2. Find out who Maxim’s kidnappers are and eliminate the one responsible

Anyone interested? You don't necessarily need to know much about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. The story line is pretty cut and dry so far, but with a lot of room for plot twists and surprises. I just need at least one person to take over Kestrel and we're good to go, so if this does end up being a one-on-one RP, I'm perfectly fine with that.
