Welcome to Krew, 3000.

The world is twisted, and everything has changed.

What was once a set of warring governments, are now a set of desolate wastelands. And the North American continent has become home to the biggest establishment of civilization known to the new world.

The people are nocturnal, avoiding the toxic rays of the burning red sun, and the only safe place are the Neo-cities, home to the biggest boom of economy and industry in the Northern hemisphere. Elsewhere is called the Slums, and the most of the world lives here.

Who, you ask, would create and conduct such a crude world?

A new order of course. This world is loosely ruled by a group of people called Neo-Anarchists, or the NA, if you prefer. This is a group of people who instill the belief or supposed 'ideal' of self-sufficiency into the people underneath them. But in truth, these people only care about themselves and money. They only protect the Neo-cities, and exercise militia rule against the Slums, which is basically their 'training ground'.




Life in the city of Krew:

Krew.

A beautiful city of chrome and black, rising in mirror-like towers, and neon lights. Sin echoes off of every corner, and people here are indulgent as ever.
The businesses here are the best, and everything is pretty sanitary. And here, you can come to the daylight without being burned; for there is a blue crystalline dome over it.

During the day, soft violet light casts inward, reflecting over the buildings and streets. During the night, the city is alight in itself, glowing white and blue and yellow and red, dancing with colors of clubs and theatres, and businesses of many other sorts.

This city is alive tonight, for the turn of the millennium has come. It is now the year 3000, so Happy New Years.

But something is about to rock this place.
Something's about to change.

With a new millennium comes a new order.





From the Slums, is born a group once called Seekers of the Republic.
But now this group is called Encore, or ER (Encore Republic).

This is a group of skilled people/criminals, readying to overthrow the NA. When this happens, they shall reconstruct the world that was once taken for granted.
Tonight is the New Year, and the Encore is moving forward, into Krew.

Encore is composed of several districts, that you join based upon your skills.
-Assassin: For those who are sly, and show no restraint in taking the lives of NA scum.
-Tech/Hacker: For those skilled with new age technology, and are able to hack the Neo-City controllers.
-Thief: For those who prefer not to (but will if they must) kill, and instead are skilled in breaking and entering.
-Ghost: A GHOST is a person who has been born with enhanced right lobe activity (usually intuitives or whatnot). Ghosts are skilled in light telekinesis or telepathy, and are good at communicating without others overhearing. Ghosts are usually found in Slums, and have some form of defect about them (blind/mute/deaf/mentally ill/personality disorders/anemia/etc....)...

Name: Vasha Cirulis

Age: 23

Appearance: Vasha is blind and usually wears dark glasses, when she has them. Otherwise her eyes are faded brown and she usually keeps them half closed. She generally wears dark cargo pants, soft shoes to feel the ground and a thick though tight sweater, long-sleeved. Apart from that, this is her physical appearance.



Weapon: korovin TK Pistol

Class/Ranking: Encore, Ghost

Personality: Vasha is loyal to ideals and makes very few bonds, but when she does they are tight ones. If someone is assigned to be her handler, to help her with her ghosting, she will probably bond very tightly to them. She loves music, and sounds of most varieties. Is often content to simply solve a puzzle, or discover a new pattern. But she also enjoys camaraderie, though she hasn't had much other than her father's (these 15 years]. She's currently still in a grief process since losing her father: a little bit of denial, anger, frustration, sadness, exhaustion and sometimes all of them together. Her experience of her world is very tactile and auditory (obviously), though she favors turning her blindness into a joke. It was how her father showed her the world. Otherwise, she is normally good-tempered and likes games, puzzles, and listening to other people's voices.

Short/Brief History:
Vasha grew up in the slums, blind. Her mother believed in the NA with all her heart and soul. When her father was not so sure. Her parents worked hard, scavenging--she was brought into the business as soon as she could walk, they taught her the value in trash. Unfortunately, with her handicap it was unwise to let her stick her little fingers into. So her parents let her disassemble the trash they brought in and ready it for resale. Using very careful (after a few mishaps one of which took off the top of her right ring finger) fingers she inspected items and discovered their inner workings. Gradually, Vasha realized that she could build a model of the items in her mind memorizing the bits that her fingers worked over. she began to experiment with building things in her mind. As she experimented in her mind she began to experiment with tangible building; the tangible building led to trying to make things work. One day, trying to make an engine work, Vasha pushed so hard that the engine began spinning, but as soon as she stopped concentrating on the mechanics beneath her fingers, it stopped. What she developed was a telekinetic skill for creating movement. She became very adept at moving the small things around her, but her blindness inhibited moving things without help. When her mother discovered her talent, she immediately required that they take her to the NA. It was the breaking point. Her parents could not reconcile their differences of opinion on the NA. Her father would not give his eight year old up. One night, he bundled her in her coat and handed her the plushy, belled lamb she'd always worn around her wrist (sucking on it when teething, and ringing to let her parents know where she was) and they vanished before morning. Since then she's lived a precarious and daunting life. Her father gave her a the Korovin at 9 to protect herself when he was out. One night, he disappeared and never came back. She ventured out several nights later and literally fell into a next of encore. She made the mistake of trying to pull something and her Ghosting was discovered. Remembering her father's hatred for the NA, and her lack of place to go, she joined up with Encore.

Name: Riath “Rain” Lacer

Age: 21

Appearance:Often wears a long over coat to conceal his blades. His clothing is black but similar to the picture. Specially adapted goggles which allow him to pick up heat signature, and enhance his night vision are built into the mask which slides down over his face.

Weapon: Ninjato and Wakisashi (swords)

Class/Ranking: Encore: Assassin

Personality: The strong silent type, Rain never says much to anyone. He carries out his operations with the utmost care and commitment, never once leaving anything to chance. He will often watch over those closest to him, some nights never sleeping, just to make sure they can sleep in safety. Rain neglects to show his emotions, most of the time anyway. There are very few people who have seen him become sad, or depressive, and even fewer who have seen him happy. Occasionally when attacked his rage and anger will show through, and the battle will be ended quickly.

Short/Brief History:Rain lost both his parents at the age of 5. They were both Encore supporters, and both were gunned down by the NA in cold blood. Since that day Rain as vowed to bring down the NA, be it by himself or with the help of others. He trained every day since then to the present day, honing his strength and his agility. Building muscle where there was none, and teaching himself how to wield a sword effectively.


Other: Carries your standard ninja kit, grapples etc etc.

Now, for my set of characters.
The first is my main character, and others will basically be important side characters to help guide the storyline. With time, I may add or remove characters from this selection.


Name: Lyra Tayn// known as "Lyric" in the Encore

Age: 20

Appearance:
Lyric stands a very lean height of 5'8, with a very faint tan and smooth skin just barely marked here and there by the occasional scar or tattoo. Her hair is a light auburn, appearing almost a magenta under the city lights, but appearing a deep burgundy under the Slum lights. She has a soft face and jade colored eyes. Her lips are full and her nose is somewhat small and feminine, and her cheeks are slightly high. Usually she can be found with a bit of make up on, as well as clothes such as fitting boot-leg jeans/riding breeches, a simplistic top, and her thick combat boots or riding heels.


Weapon:
-1 Sword: A long slender blade with a jagged end for sawing/ripping
-1 small pocket knife: a black case with a reddish lining. The blade itself is only about three inches long and has a metallic pink shine against the black steel of the blade.
-1 pistol: A 9mm with a silencer. Lyric only carries one clip with her when she goes out, seeing as how she finds gun-based violence absurd unless it involves clean execution.

Class/Ranking:
-Encore: Assassin

Personality: Lyric is a quiet and serious person. Already, she has the makings of a leader. She speaks when she needs to, and does not withhold her thoughts about a mission or her fellow companions. She is nice when alone, and rarely shows the softer more mature/caring nature that she holds inside. Lyric acts much older than her age.

Short/Brief History: Lyric was born in Krew. The big city beheld her to all the glories a young child could want. Her parents were always gone and about, working in big industry and 'bringing home the bacon'. But it was when they disappeared- at random- that she was left to wonder what happened. A child of 7 could not survive on her own.

Setting out into the city, she was found by a man known only as Jaguar. Jaguar was a drug dealer that had crept into the city's safe haven, and created a lifestyle for himself.
He took her instantly, from the raw and untainted child, and threw her for a loop straight into adulthood.

After serving what felt like forever beneath his eye, drug-dealing and murdering in the name of his 'business', she was freed. But at what cost? Jaguar's death.
After having dealt with the dealer and entrepreneur, she was captured by another set of people...

At age age of 15, she was taken for six months into a Traitor Camp, where she was punished and beaten for supposedly working under some underground called 'Encore', which she knew nothing of. Apparently, her parents had been Encore spies, and had been murdered that fateful lonely night, so long ago.
-
After six months though, she found her escape with a man of perhaps thirty or more years, named Abel- brother to a leader of the NA- launched an attack on the Traitor Camp in Port City. He, of course, was a bit skeptical. But in the end, he took the child back to the Encore underground in the Slums outside of Krew; where Lyric began to mold into a dignified killer with a new goal of destroying the lies and abuse of her past...


Other:
-Lyric has had an off and on affair with a Ghost telepathic named Muse, who she feels haunts her and makes her nervous and short-tempered at times.




OTHER CHARACTERS:

Name: Brick Hatch

Age: 26

Appearance: Brick stands around 6'1 and is fairly muscular. His skin shows the life he has lived while out in the slums with an assortment of tattoos and scars. The most notable scar is on the right side of his face that runs along his jaw line almost to the corner of his mouth. He "earned" the scar from a fight in the slums with a rival. His clothing is simple. Tank tops, jeans, and boots with the occasional BDU style jacket.

Weapon: .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol kept in small of the back along with two extra clips, switch blade kept in right pocket, and a fire mans ax with a steel handle

Class/Ranking: Encore, Assassin (although he could easily be a thief if that is what is needed)

Personality: Brick is a fairly care free man. His normal outlook on life is who cares, I'm surviving. This attitude leads him to rarely getting attached to people. Brick never bites his tongue and never back down from a confrontation no matter the circumstances. Although he seems not to care much about anything Brick is very loyal to the ER. They saved his life from the hellish camps the NA placed him in so he is more than willing to lay his life down for the "cause".

Short/Brief History:
Brick was born and raised in the slums. His parents are both fiends of the current addictive drugs that are hustled by the street scum. To survive Brick instantly found himself involved in robbing, dealing, and fighting with a small band of kids from his neighborhood. As a result of his actions Brick was constantly involved in fights and shootings with rival groups of kids. He boasts a scar on the right side of his face from one of these fights.

As Brick got older he distanced himself more from his two fiend parents and became more active in his criminal life. Being a local legend of sorts Brick was one of the few people that killed an NA official and got away with it. The truth behind the story is that Brick found a dead NA member and pumped three rounds into the chest than bragged about it around his neighborhood. The body gave Brick more credibility but also put him on the radar of the NA as a possible suspect in the disappearances of multiple NA members.

At 19 Brick was caught and sent to a work camp. At the work camp Brick was a loner. He did his work, ate, than went to sleep. Known by the NA guards of the camp as "the asshole" Brick constantly got into fights with other workers and guards. Even being imprisoned Bricks temper wasn't dampened. He lived that life for several years until the camp was over thrown by the ER. Brick left with the ER and immediately went back to his neighborhood.

Now at 26 Brick acts as a solo "operative" for the ER in his area. He does his best to strike at the NA but his lack of martial training usually makes more of a mess for him and the ER than it does good. In spite of this Brick is still a decent soldier that could possibly help the ER over throw the NA in the near future.

Other: Keeps a lighter, a pack of smokes, black leather gloves, and a couple of black bandannas on his person used for various reason

Name: Daniel Dantino

Age: 30 (I always feel bad putting a round number for age, but if that's as old as you let 'em go, sure.)

Appearance:
Daniel is only of middling height (5'10") and while sturdy, could not be thought muscular by any stretch of the imagination. His face, however, is harder than triple-reinforced steel. His strong jaw is set in a permanent grim line, and his high cheekbones emphasize his gauntness. His eyes are wrinkled but hawk-like under his lined brow, and usually hidden behind menacing square mirror-shades.

Weapon:
Daniel carries a powerful custom SHRP .45 handgun, expensively stabilized for additional accuracy at surprising ranges. Instead of the usual "bang" sound of projectile weaponry, the custom SHRP produces a sharp crack, making Daniel's shots very easily distinguishable from any other (strangely though, from a distance the sounds are often not even recognized as gunfire). In addition, he carries an extended knife, so long it could nearly be called a short sword. It fits upside-down into a sheath in the back of his coat, and he wields it backwards.

Class/Ranking: NA Assassin

Personality:
Daniel is grim and humorless, relying on sheer implacable intimidation to open his doors. He has no friends and precious few contacts, preferring to maintain anonymity. Even though he dresses plainly and has no particularly distinguished facial features, his morbid demeanor can sometimes identify him as "...that guy." He prides himself on being completely inscrutable, and as impossible to predict as can be.

Short/Brief History:
Daniel is an assassin, pure and simple. He doesn't limit himself to one method, one target type, one weapon, or anything much for that matter. He's a killer for sale, and his services are only available to the Neo-Anarchists. He carries a perverse loyalty to the NA, a mixture of grim cynicism and an underlying obedience not even he can fathom wholly. In truth, the NA doctrine has been ingrained into him over the course of his life, so much that whether he truly believes it or not, it is a part of his head, part of his concept of the world. He doesn't really believe that anything else can work, can't really imagine anything other than what is. His past is largely irrelevant other than that, save for his training. Daniel isn't dangerous because of any inborn martial skill, he's dangerous because of years of training by the NA's top specialists, and a mind that analyzes each life-or-death situation like a mathematical problem, and coldly deconstructs it to serve to his advantage.

Other:
He carries various items about his person, gathered and crafted from things anyone could find lying at home. Rat poison, flares, a taped-together tear gas grenade, several very small charges, a cable, matches, a small flask filled with gasoline, a lockpick, and two extra clips of ammunition.

Name: Claus Riden

Age: 23

Appearance: 5'8", green eyes and brown hair. He is lanky and toned from constant use of his muscles. He wears a tight black t-shirt and black slacks made of some kind of microfiber. He also wears a back harness of his own personal design with clips and pockets to accommodate his various equipment. Does not wear sun glasses but does have a pair of tech contacts* (see note) also there is faint scar around his right ear.* The words "LIMBO" tattooed in Gothic scrip across his back and shoulders.

Weapon: 1. two short rods about two and a half inches in diameter and one and half feet long. One end is tubular and has a grip. The rod tapers into a triangular rod with the edges sharpened slightly. The center of the rods contains a hydrolic piston which will thrust a sharp spike out a another three quarters foot at the press of a button. 2. A simple sawed off, pistol grip shotgun with five round magazine 3. A assemblable miniature rail gun which fires a super sharp, tephlon coated barb attached to a spool of strong, micro filament wire. (not really a weapon, but if push comes to shove it can fire other things and a barb passing through somebodies head can hurt).

Class/Ranking: EN Thief

Personality: Friendly and happy-go-lucky. He enjoys partying and having a good time. He has many friends in all sectors along with numerous contacts throughout the slums, sectors, and even in the NA cities. His face tends to betray his current emotions and thoughts, though it is unclear whether this an unconscious tick or intentional. He loves a challenge and will often take a job based souly on its difficulty to accomplish. His mouth will often get him in trouble as he always wants to have the last word.

Short/Brief History: Claus was born and raised in Krew. He squeaked through the educational system and was noted for being a trouble maker and it was doubted if he would ever make anything of himself. His parents were successful business people and had little time for their wayward son and thus he was left to his own devices. He fell in with a crowed of cocky rich kids who liked to party and take risks. That was how he initially became a thief and subsequently lost his ear. His group of friends grew dissatisfied with the NA and in their arrogance formed their own little coalition of freedom fighters named the Liberty Initiative: Militant Bastion Operatives (LIMBO). Through his operations there, he acquired his equipment and a measure of martial arts training. It all came to an end one day when the NA attacked their headquarters. In an effort to appear to be cracking down on terrorism and cleaning up the city the NA blamed LIMBO for a number of unsolved terrorist attacks and brutally wiped them out. Claus managed to escape and his eyes were opened to just how oppressive and dangerous a government the NA was. Most of the members of LIMBO were either imprisoned or killed and their families, aware of their activities or not, were also imprisoned. Claus managed to escape detection and thus his family was left untouched, but after what he has seen and experienced Claus decided he wanted to take a more serious role in opposing the NA instead of the little "club" he and his comrades has started. Now he lives in the EN sectors, taking whatever jobs promise to hurt the NA or NA sympathizers more. He is still attracted by the thrill and danger of the chase. He joined Encore because he believes they are a serious organization who are not naive about the cost of freedom and capable of doing something about the current government.


Other: notes*: His contacts are advanced tech, they are like built in binoculars and can change shades and color and display images (useful for detecting those pesky laser tripwire and whatnot). His ear was cut off in a fight with security when he was just starting out as a thief and has been replaced with bio electronic one that enhances his hearing (useful for a safe cracker). In his pack he also carries a number of items conducive to his occupation.

BECAUSE you are a soldier of the NA, instead of Encore, I'm still deciding how to lead you alongside the story. I'll respond again later tonight or tomorrow, so hopefully everyone can pitch in a post before-hand.

When I get that post in, I'll be creating multiple side characters to help your own move in the story as well.

I'll post those side characters up... when I make them. XD

Don't worry too much about leading me. I'm pretty good at sticking with the rest of the story myself.

One other small question... I'm new to the board so I'm curious what the stance is on autoing here. None at all? a little? within reason? Thought I might as well ask on a RP thread than somewhere else. Thanks for endulging my curiosities.

First off:

-If you would like to create another character, just follow my sheet and post here, and await my approval. Two is probably the most I will allow someone unless they show the skill to wield more.

Second off:

-Autoing? As in auto-hit, auto-dodge?
-- If that's what you're talking about, well I'm going to make an explanation of what is considered common courtesy.
When you attack another player, you need to make it so that your attack is understood, but never force damage unto a character.

Example: "He brought his fist up and hit the other man, giving him a broken nose."
-That is wrong, and disrespectful because you are godmodding that person's character to take damage.
Instead, try:
"He brought his fist up and threw a punch at the other man; aimed for his face."

I know my writing skills are kind of dull, it's like four in the morning.

Auto-dodge:
You can dodge somethings, that's a right of yours to not take all damage that someone sends out unless your character is in a state or natural disadvantage as to take easy damage.

BUT you cannot evade everything. You aren't magical, and you have to take some damage.



THERE WILL BE NO KILLING OF ANOTHER PERSON'S CHARACTER WITHOUT THAT PERSON'S PERMISSION!!!

That is to be well understood by ALL people partaking in this roleplay.

Thankyou for the tips on autoing. What I was more asking about was speaking for somebody eleses character. I know sometimes posts can get a little short if dialogue is all one sided but I wasn't sure what the policy was or if there even was one. Obviously there are elements of common sense and things you just don't do, but just curious whether it was a stricked no-no or not.

Anybody interested in partnering with a theif? Claus doesn't bite he's just a little sarcstic at times, but he has good heart.... I think.

That way, you can post a conversation, or collection of dialogue.
