Daylight Falls: OOC [closed]

A handful of friends all attending the same college are about to do a group project together. They are excited for this, as they are going to make a documentary film together. They are going to take a trip to the Appalachian Mountains, to explore an untraveled region. Their project point is to document wildlife, the natural untouched habitat, and their survival amongst it for one week.

But the vacation is not as smooth as planned. During a storm, they seek shelter in a small cavern near a waterfall. When the storm passes the next day, and they rise from the cavern, they find that they are lost. And where does their explorations lead them? To a village within the nearing valley that as they find is called Daylight Falls.

While they take this as an opportunity to document something even cooler than wildlife, they are not yet assured of the dangers that lie ahead. What lies in that valley, in that village, is torment and darkness. And with this comes the wicked horror. The hauntings and dark discoveries. What was interesting at first quickly becomes a tragedy, as they realize they are stuck in the center of a village whose people partook in witchcraft, voodoo, and devil worship to the strongest degree.

THE TORMENTED:
What looks like it used to be a man. It writhes in pain and anguish and seems to have skin over its body that acts like a tight bag or tent, even a cage, that it wishes to escape from. But these things are not harmless, the Tormented are fast runners when they hear a target, and they will bluntly bash at anything with their heads and bodies- which their strength can be rather amazing, as well as their relentlessness. Some have special attributes.

This woman was once one of the dancers, and now her graceful motions have been turned into a bashing throw of violent attacks that are crushing and rarely survived. Hammerheads are devastating, and though slow, are extremely strong. Never underestimate a Hammerhead.

The Butcher's Apprentice is a quick, blade wielding foe who is sharp edged and wants nothing more than bloodshed. He tends to make himself known by sharpening his blades together- a wretched sound of rusty metal on rusty metal.

PINHEAD:
The Pinhead is a sharp, thorny figure who has medical needles as well as bone fracture protrusions that skin as oddly grown up around. His claws are dangerous as well. He has a unique sight about him, as his eyelids are so thin he can detect light, and his metal and bone thorns detect vibrations in the environment. He is dangerous, and a hunter when he finds a target.

APPARITION:
The Apparitions are seemingly harmless appearances of people in a ghostly form. But they can slip into your mind, think things to you, and cause your body to react in certain ways depending on their actions (such as they can make the temperature drop or raise, or make your hair stand on end). They tend to lead you somewhere, usually to trouble. Other times an apparition can bring forth physically manifested fiends.

JUICER:
The Juicers are known by their long, spider-like legs that stretch forth from their shoulders/backs and have ridged pointed tips that they use to pierce down victims and pin targets. They earn their names for the way they tend to puncture solidly through someone and let them bleed out.

SCORPION:
The Scorpion is a legless manifestation, that bears spider-like jaw pieces and two strong arms. But it is called a Scorpion for its long tail and sharp, heavy tail tip that can be thrown forward or back like a scorpion tail.

GLUTTON:
The Glutton is a hefty monster that cannot move fast at all, but should you get within range of this blind beast, you are surely done for. Its multiple chomping mouths have more mouths for eyes, and their tongues can test you on their buds. They hunger for the human flesh.

The Priest of Daylight Falls. Once upon a time, he heard only the word of God. That was, before he ran with the witches to Daylight Falls, and learned of their teachings.




PANDORA:
One of the two Occult Priestesses, sister of Lamia. She is not as powerful as her sister, but she is a force to be reckoned with nonetheless. Pandora is the apprentice Priestess.

Short Bio: Nevada was born and raised in a slightly upper middle class family. She was the only child, and yet never found herself spoiled to the lifestyle of being better off than some. Instead she found that having the backing pushed her for a strong education. But being as sheltered as she was at times and so wrapped in her studies, she was often teased as the geek or nerd, and stuck out more often than not. Coming into high school, in her ninth grade year, she found the gigantic amounts of people overwhelming, and in her curious trials of trying to find a teacher, she lost her footing and was nudged hard by a far larger student, which sent her toppling over the railing and falling two flights down. She eased her landing by falling somewhat on top of another student, and also by her extended arm which snapped. Ever since she has grown to fear heights. After that, she recoiled a bit, wouldn't touch stairs or ladders, but overcame it well enough when college started. Graduating high school a year early with her associates through a dual enrollment plan, she excelled on to a strong university in Philadelphia, where she has met some of her greatest friends. Though in her first year of college she made a great friend in her pregnant roommate, who asked her (Since her own mother would not come) to be with her in the delivery room. What became a problematic pregnancy turned into a desperate C-Section, spilling quite a bit of blood and saving the baby while the mother bled to death on the table before her. Thus Nevada's other greatest fear or trauma- vast amounts of blood. Now Nev simply leads on with a smile, and tries her best to look at things with a bounce to her step, though she can be somewhat sarcastic and slow to progress sometimes. Her newest adventures of traveling the untouched parts of the Appalachian Mountains has her quite excited though.

Short Bio: Even as a child, Ren loved cinema for the art as much as the stories. He quickly gained an appreciation for effective filming that considered several aspects of the shot rather than simply placing the major actors in the center of the frame. However, his affinity had always been in math and his family has a strong lineage of successful engineers; despite his best efforts, he succumbed to his father's wishes to continue the heritage of engineering in a manner that would suit itself for his true passion. During his freshman year of college, his twin sister, Yoshimi Komuro, was killed in a collision with a drunk driver. Ren had never been as close to anybody as he had been with his sister and it took him a year to recover from her death. She had always supported him and had loved hearing him talk about cinematography; her loss nearly snuffed his love for cinema.

Although he is in decent shape, spending much time buried within homework has caused him to fall a bit from his physical peak. He is relatively quick and agile on his feet, but his endurance had suffered from years of sitting at a desk.

Under stressful conditions, Ren is able to rationalize and micromanage as long as he has an objective before him. However, once the seams of his composure begin to unravel, Ren’s poise is likely to fail rather quickly.

Short Bio: Simeon spent much of his childhood outdoors, most often hunting, fishing, and hiking with family or friends. His love of literature made him pursue a career in writing, although he quickly learned that fictional works were not his strong point. Being a fan of traveling he decided the best option he had for a career in writing was journalism. After the ill-fated trip with high school friend he enrolled in schooling. He would later explain to someone that the trip was part of his reason for going into journalism school, and telling the story became the first project he ever worked on.

Have you ever been traumatized before: During a backpacking trip a year after high school graduation with four friends. Saw one friend die, saw another suffer a crippling injury and go into a psychiatric hospital shortly after they finally got home.

Physical Fighting Abilities: One - Basic knowledge; enough to keep from being killed in two seconds.
Physical Evasive Abilities: Three - Numerous hiking trips have conditioned him for strenuous walking. Good ability to run for short distances and moderately dexterous. He is good at moving quietly and, for the most part, staying unseen due to years of hunting with his grandfather at a young age.

Mental Composure: Four - Does well at night and has had to learn to keep his composure in hazardous situations, from hiking through deadly terrain as well as the aforementioned backpacking trip.
Mental Quickness: Three - He is able to come up with things with moderate speed, although they may not always be the best options.

Personality Traits: Calm, jokester, happy, analyzing, outgoing, and protective.

Short Bio:

Unlike his current life, Isaac did not have a good childhood. He was always picked on because he had glasses and was slightly over-weight. He often dipped his head into the books, and was ridiculed for it. Bullies harrassed him for nearly his entire elementary life, and he couldn't understand why. Some of them were fatter than him, and the only difference was that none of them had glasses. Did it make them feel good when they teased and beat him up? He promised to himself that one day he would understand, and hopefully stop this from happening ever again. That dream would have to wait as he made his transfer into the high school life.

It was there that the bullying stopped almost immediately, seeing most of the students relied on the 'nerds' to help them with their homework and assignments, and everyone knows no one helps those who pick on them. During his four years there, he started taking up weight-lifting in order to get rid of all the excess fat on his body. By the end of high school, he was big, but not in a fat way. He had made some friends, had some girlfriends, and led the regular high school life up to graduation. From there, they said goodbye, and parted ways. Isaac remembered his resolve from when he was younger, and entered University with the full intent of grabbing a psychology degree.

During his years in University, he managed to get in on an internship with a mental hospital nearby. There is where he learned that delving too far into the minds of psychotics was not healthy, and developed his mental walls. It was also there that he managed to get the few scars along his body from patients going beserk. One of the patients had managed to hide a small metal pipe within his gown, along his arm, and had attacked Isaac with it, creating the hole-like scar on his shoulder. The security detail for that specific prisoner was fired, and it was later found out that he had been drinking on the job as well. He quit the internship after that, and managed to grab part time job at the local grocery store to keep up his schooling.

Physical Fighting Abilities: 4 Over the years, Isaac has learned that in a world such as this, it is necessary to be able to defend yourself. While he has not taken any form of practised martial arts, he does spend time at a gym, and is capable of holding his own ground.
Physical Evasive Abilities: 2 While physically fit for a fight, he hasn't spent much time running or anything that includes endurance. So, he can keep up at the most of times, but he has a hard time trudging through the extremely long runs and evasions.

Mental Composure: 5 Due to his nature of being bullied, dealing with psychotics, and practising the art of diving into the minds of the insane, his mental composure is incredibly sound. He manages to put up mental walls when needed, and rarely ever enters a panicked state.
Mental Quickness: 3 He can think up of some basic plans and ideas rather quickly, but for anything extravagant or extremely ground breaking, you're better off finding someone else.
Religion: Athiest
