The Awakening

No, this isn't based on the novel. Just getting that out of the way.

There is a whole world, out of sight, out of reach of our mundane senses. We humans are cut off from the wealth of paranormal activity. Our body's cannot process the true world, nor can we understand it. Only a few people a born with the ability to sense the world as it is, and many of them end up in insane asylums because the people around them can't recognize what they are seeing. Those that join the paranormal world, inherently become cogs in the turning wheels, and change even more to match the world they live in.

But one doctor decided to partake create an experiment. An advertisement was released the other day, in all forms of media. It spoke of a new surgical process that could help restore sensation to any of the five senses. Thousands of people applied, but only five were chosen. Each had a sense that wasn't working quite well before.

"When the surgery is complete, you'll feel like a whole new person. Trust me..."

Act 1: A meeting of the Minds
Those that were altered will search each other out, or meet by chance (as the supernatural world is very like that) and then will attempt to find the doctor and find out why.

I'm definitely interested. =)

Oh, well, I'm open to anything really, but I would most prefer to have the sense of sight.
