The world is Ancharion, where there are many islands that own a variety of creatures, some far more intelligent than others. There have only been two major wars involving most every continent and creature, where, in both, sides were forced to be taken. The victor of the first would have been considered -good-, a poorly skilled archer with a knack for leadership and justice. He had reigned in the favor of many for years until age took its claim on the human. Many decades afterwards, when a lousy king rose with a highly respected queen, a new seed had entered the world. The unwated son of a wanted bandit. The son rose to power by force, following in his outlawed mother's footsteps when it came to killing. His swift reflexes, strong build, and conniving mind enabled him to gather followers with grew. He was hated, feared, and respected. As the number of followers he had grew, so did his ambition. The world around him got smaller as he got bigger and he wanted all of it. He sought domination when he could get it, clashing head on with the king, bringing him down to his knees. The queen, he took as if by prize and settled her down before she could escape and cause trouble.

The king has grown to a decent age in dark elf years, aging lines just appearing on his face. His tyrannical rule has caused towns and cities to mirror his image, prisons being crowded and many the common street thug being put on death row. The currency: nickel, silver, gold, platinum, and crystal has become something very difficult to reach. The laws are strict as is curfews. But that isn't what has everyone on edge, what has them on edge is the darkness setting in the sky where thunder travels far and lightning ripples through, providing the only light that gives detail to ominous near black clouds that are gathering everywhere. There has been no word of if this is the King's doing but some are suspicious of it but to voice themselves would be to put themselves in shackles.

Things are putting everyone on edge, the lack of coin, the strict rules and enforcement, and this new darkness. What's worse is that seafarers of both young and old have either disappeared or tell tale of shifting tides, strange creatures, and the rise of a new continent.

Ancharion is a world that was terra-formed by either a great amount of magic users with a good deal of energy or some great being who not only has a vast knowledge of magic but also energy to spare. Obviously that would require a lot of energy as magic normally does unless it is drawn from a source. If it were more than one magic user, it is possible they would have perished after finishing such great change due to the lack of sustainable energy to go on. But it is possible they would have left an area or underground place that has tomes that recorded the history of the world before as well as the magic-users’ actions. That would be something the group of adventurers(role-played characters) stumble upon later on the exposed new continent.

Okay, yeah. I'm just going to list some other stuff.

Currency: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Crystal. 100 Bronze is the equivalent to 1 Silver. 50 Silver is the equivalent to 1 Gold. 50 Gold is the equivalent to 1 Platinum. 30 Platinum is the equivalent to 1 Crystal.

Plot Start and End: Start - Tavern. End - Main City.

Role-Playable Creatures - Anything you want.

Naturally the normal role-playing rules apply, no god-modding, power-playing, etcetera. And as for characters possessing any form of magic. It is possible but remember that any use of magic takes away energy from the body of the user. The more experienced the magic user is, the more energy he will have. Magic can exhaust the user, even if it is a simple spell like casting a fireball, it will make him a bit more tired, weakened. Enchanted items can happen. An item can be imbued with a certain type of magic or a certain spell. The item works similar to a user when it comes to energy which is why enchanted items are often rare. They have to have some way to gather energy whether it be from the one using the item or if it draws energy from a victim.

So...yeah. Wasn't exactly sure how to go by this and I do have things planned for that plot, the background of the world was just an added thing. Any questions, ideas, suggestions on the plot? I strongly insist on posting them.
