Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Gregory Fuse

Post by Aslanemperor Thu Aug 27, 2009 12:47 am

Name: Gregory Fuse
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Ability: Electricity control
Bio: Gregory Fuse grew up in a good family with parents who made certain he got the best education. He found a love for science at an early age and pursued it. When he got older, his parents were relieved to find out that he got a full scholarship to one of the best colleges in the country, where he majored in Biology. He then joined a research firm and found a new love. He found the mutant genome fascinating and discovered it's reaction to a special sort of radiation which wasn't harmful, but only neutralized the mutant's ability when they were under it's influence.
At home, he devised a means to make a cage of sorts that mutants could be put in which would allow police to keep mutant criminals behind bars. Using this, he got a loan from the bank and started his business, Certicorp Industries. As he had expected, Certicorp Industries became the sole supplier of the Jerin Field prison cells. In effect, he became a millionaire almost overnight.
But he wasn't one to stop there. He continued research, seeking to more fully understand what made mutants have the powers they have. Soon, he discovered something in the human genetic code which caused the powers to come forth. After 7 years of research, he finally learned to draw out the super powers inside any human. Now his job is to give people super powers, as he's already done for himself. He doesn't try to be a super hero or anything, but instead uses his abilities to show off what his products can do.

Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Garin Al'Shaen

Post by Aslanemperor Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:42 pm

Aslanemperor wrote:Name: Garin Al'Shaen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Ability: Able to control his perception of time.
Bio: Garin was born to loving parents, but his happy home life was doomed to failure at an early age. He was 5 years old when he received the news that he was to be starting kindergarten in a month and so would need new school supplies. His parents took him to the store and he picked out a new lunch box and book bag with his parents smiling behind him, glorying in his happiness.
It was one of his earliest memories, all the more precious for how soon it turned into a nightmare. On the way home, a man demanded money from his parents. His father pulled his wallet out, but the man had gotten to looking at Garin's mother. She was a very pretty woman and the man was vile. He coldheartedly shot his father in the head and went to grab her, but she struggled and Garin screamed for him to leaver her alone. He hit the Garin's mother in the head and turned the gun on Garin, and everything seemed to suddenly slow. Garin watched the first tendrils of flame begin to come out of the gun as the bullet slowly exited the barrel. He tried to move, but he knew he would be to slow. But even in that perception he could see his mother dive in front of him, catching the bullet in his neck. The man began to curse, and Garin was already turning to run, though everything seemed to move as if he were underwater. The man ran the other way, and Garin hid behind a garbage can in case he might come back. He didn't understand why his parents didn't get back up, but he guessed that maybe they were pretending they were still down so that the bad man wouldn't come back again.
When the police came back, they dismissed his stories of time slowing as the effects of adrenaline and shock. However, it wasn't long after he was sent to the orphanage that he learned he could control what had happened before. He realized early on how it could be used as well. He began to practice using it as soon as he entered kindergarten. He realized that if he wanted to puzzle something out, his mind worked at full speed, no matter how slow his interpretation of time was. He mastered reading and writing in less then a month. He began to find books to read. Anything he could find. He studied and practiced his ability in all sorts of situations. He began living life in general in slow motion, never talking unless he absolutely had to. He got used to moving around and living at half of normal speed and got a reputation for being very graceful. By the time he was 9 years old, he had learned something else. He could use his slowed perception of time to speed read faster then anyone else he'd ever seen. He could slow time and literally read a book in the time it took to flip through the pages one by one. One full second per page and he could read a book with ease. He began to use this to read his textbooks. He would read all of them through and through once every night until by the end of the school year, he practically had them memorized.
When he was 12, he figured out a way to make this even more useful when he saw a friend who was a year ahead of him. He began to borrow that boys books every night and read them on top of his own text books. By the time he reached the end of seventh grade, he was ready to skip eighth grade. In the ninth grade, he managed to do the same for tenth grade books, and at the age of 15, he was going out as a graduating Junior. Needless to say, he was offered scholarship at many different prestigious universities, and he decided to go with MIT. He majored in Advanced Robotics, and he mastered those classes the same way he had mastered grade school. In the extra free time, he studied Kung-Fu and Kendo. He excelled in them with his uncanny reflexes, and by the time he had obtained his masters degree in Advanced Robotics, he had also mastered both martial arts. At the same time he began to train his body brutally. He worked to become stronger and faster, especially faster. Training with extremely heavy sand filled clothing, he found that he could soon move much faster then the average person, though still nothing even resembling super speed.
At the age of 21, he obtained a job as a Lab Tech for Certicorp's Robotics division. This was the perfect cover for him as it allowed him access to all the technology he would need to create his super alter ego. He spent a full year creating a super hero costume and patiently crafting the perfect sword out of a special Certicorp alloy that wasn't yet out on the market because it was to expensive to produce. With a uniform and a blade which was just this side of indestructible, not to mention a nice amount of gadgets, he began his new life as a super hero.

Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Celeste Aguilar

Post by Aslanemperor Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:42 pm

Eternity wrote:
Name: Celeste Aguilar / "Cele" (see-lee)
Age: 19
Gender: female
Ability:
-Water Composition: Celeste can shift her composition to water; meaning that she can form puddles, sink into the earth, travel and bla bla all in the form of water. She can vaporize and travel as a fog-like substance, though this isn't preferred seeing as how fog can be carried by wind much easier than a liquid form. This is not a power she can easily attack using. This helps more with evasion when in battle. Now, like I said with the whole vaporizing thing; she can change forms based upon the forms of water vapor. She can be solid, liquid, or gas. Of course, if she is ice, she cannot travel. If she is vapor, she is easily drifting instead of traveling. Liquid is always the preference of choice.
Bio: Celeste was born in a decadent neighborhood that was slowly declining and stricken by poverty. She grew up trying to enjoy the few luxuries her Hispanic parents tried to give her, but it was much harder. When their air conditioner stopped functioning, did everyone in the house begin to notice something odd about Cele. At the age of about ten, she began to sweat. And unlike normal sweat, when it fell from her body, it puddled at her feet, and sometimes seemed to shift, or reabsorb into her body. In hotter weather; that quickly coming summer, Cele began to melt. Under the heat's pressure, she would form a solid puddle, sink through floorboards and disappear into the soil, traveling miles upon miles underground. She realized that this natural given power made her free as a bird; and so she chose not to return, spending a year of her childhood exploring earth in the forms of lifeless vapors and liquids. But a year later, when she returned, her house was locked up and empty. Dusty, and quiet. Her parents had been arrested, both on charges of malicious wounding when a fight broke out in the now predominantly black neighborhood. She chose then to grow up quickly, taking care of herself in that house. Whenever someone came, they thought it was uninhibited. Those who tried to live in it kept saying that there was a ghost around, and that there was a horrible leak somewhere; thus kept moving out. Now the ''abandoned'' house is home to Celeste Aguilar, a thief of the best caliber. She does what she must to survive; and nothing less. Sometimes, she indulges a bit, and can be a bit cruel. But she tries to keep her mother's morals in her heart.

Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Sudo Grayson

Post by Aslanemperor Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:59 am

Aslanemperor wrote:Name: Sudo Grayson
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Ability: Pyrokenesis
Bio: Sudo was born too a very average family. His father was a football star in his hometown, now married to his high school sweetheart. He wanted a son to follow in his footsteps more then anything. His expectations were doomed to failure however, and Sudo was a great disappointment. Instead of being a jock, Sudo was a bit of a nerd. He wasn't very strong and he knew it. So did all the other kids in school.
Sudo quickly got a reputation for being easy meat and was bullied mercilessly. As if this wasn't bad enough, he had to come home to a father who was literally sick of him, and a mother who was usually so high on whatever new pain killers she could score that she couldn't care less about him.
All of these factors finally drove Sudo to look for other ways to cope. It was only by accident that in the eighth grade he ran into a discarded college psychology book. Being somewhat curious he began to read it. He learned so much about what drove people in that book that he decided he had found his passion.
It seemed also, that that year was one for all sorts of changes. A group of bullies cornered him and began to beat on him. He wet his pants he was so scared and just as he felt he was going to die, he felt something inside of him snap. It was only lucky that what happened next was misunderstood. He was pushed into the heater grate, and suddenly, his clothes were on fire. The bullies, suddenly scared someone would discover that they had caused the boy to catch on fire in their bullying ran off. When Sudo finally managed to pat out the flames, he knew what had really caused it. He also knew that at this point, he wasn't in control of it.
Sudo had always had a nature of perfecting his control over his body and mind and so even as he studied psychology, he studied his own powers. The first thing he learned was simply how to not accidentally use it on someone. He wanted this power to be a secret. Realizing that something might happen if he was attacked again, he decided that he should try another route to keeping safe. There was one boy who was well known as a tough guy, but who had never bullied him. Sudo approached him with an offer that was fairly new.
He offered money to simply protect him. They were to hang out and if bullies attacked, the older boy would protect him in exchange for money from his savings. This worked out better then he hoped. He used the boy in such a way that the bullies learned early on not to mess with him. Even after he ran out of money, he managed to keep the illusion that he was protected. Slowly, he learned more and more about his powers. Around the time he reached the 11th grade, the read Machiavelli's Pricipia. He fell in love with the concept of "The end justifies the means." This was not good for his parents, because shortly before his graduation, his father walked in on him practicing his abilities. He looked sadly at his father as he committed his first murder and purposefully burned the house down with both his parents in it. It was even harder to wait under charred beams for authorities to arrive. He'd allowed himself to be grievously injured to make the illusion of innocence.
Because he was so close to graduation, and his parents both had substantial life insurance, he was granted emancipation by the family courts. He used the $500,000 in life insurance premiums to buy a home and pay for college. He got his associate's degree in two years and started his job. However, the simple job was nothing but a cover. In secret, he made his first costume and prepared to start on a new journey. A journey to take over the world. Literally.

Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Miss Take

Post by Aslanemperor Sat Aug 29, 2009 1:01 am

Inerio wrote:
Name: Avery "Miss Take" Valentine
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Ability: Telekinesis and small scale probability control. She can't make fish fly, but she can win a game of black jack without knowing squat about it.
Bio: Avery didn't come from a substantial background. Her parents were both average people, working middle class jobs. She was a bit of a nerd in elementary school, and only had one or two real friends. But, aside from that there was nothing traumatic. Even in middle school when she began to shed her "ugly duckling" status her life was still nothing too special. She didn't become a prodigy, didn't become popular.

It was during high school that Avery's life took a turn for the better, or worse depending on who's telling the story. She had caught her boyfriend at the time cheating on her with another girl. Now, saying she was made would be an understatement. Avery was furious. However, she wasn't a confrontational person back then and stormed off so she could quietly seethe. At that time all she wanted was for her ex-boyfriend to fall down the stairs. In fact, seeing him on a stairwell one day she thought this devious little thought several times.

Lo and behold the guy managed to slip at the top of the steps and crash several feet below with a sprained wrist and broken leg. Surely this was a coincidence, and Avery brushed it off. However, when the girl whom her boyfriend had cheated on her with managed to burn her whole arm in a freak chemical accident in chemistry class while Avery was in the room the teen began to think that perhaps these random events weren't just coincidence after all.

Upon practicing with her new found ability in her room Avery was able to knock over a chair and levitate her television. Granted, upon first discovering her powers at fifteen they weren't exactly strong. Much practice on terrorizing the school's mean girls and jerks went into Avery honing her skills. Not to mention she made her father quite happy when he realized that if he took her to poker night she'd usually win the round.

By the time she went into college Avery had managed to not only become quiet well off for a self taught telekinetic but also quite cocky. If no one had caught onto her little random acts of vindictive justice in her high school and no one had caught onto the fact that she was unconsciously controlling the actions of whatever gamble she may have been in, who was to stop her from doing crimes on a larger scale?

It was at that point that Avery pack up her things and went where anyone else in her position would, Vegas. Most of her money was made from slot machines and Texas Hold 'Em games, though she avoided any televised events like the plague. As one can imaging, winning each time she pulled the lever on a slot machine got boring and winning four out of every six card games became a tad lack luster. It was around the time that the glory of being lucky subsided into melancholia that Avery took up a life of crime becoming Miss Take.

Gene 33 Character profiles Empty Johnny Weeks

Post by Aslanemperor Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:54 am

Barbarossa wrote:
Name: Johnny Weeks (Former - Steven James) - "Alt"
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Ability: To make his body pass through objects, such as walls, cars, tables, even bullets.
Bio: Steven was raised in the city by his father, his parents had broken up when he was two years old; his father had received custody due to his often absent mother, who he never never met since, and didn't develop a relationship with. In school, Steven rarely got in fights and always completed his schoolwork.

In his early teens, Steven got into his first fight with a boy several years older than him in his Geography classroom. The older boy dominated the fight and pinned Steven onto the ground. Flinching hard, Steven fell through the floor of the Geography classroom and into the class below, naked, his clothes staying the class above. He was reported to the 'Proper Authorities' and taken into custody.

His capters began looking at Steven, examining his DNA and Molecular structure. They had been aware of 'Superhumans' before, but rarely had the opportunity to look at one, and as the 'powers' varied, it was always of interest. They developed a piece of clothing that would make it so Steven would not pass through his clothing when he used his power. He now wears it under his regular clothing as to prevent the embarrassment. The scientists were surprisingly friendly towards him and supplied board and lodging. He was very surprised when he was released from custody, weeks after giving him the blue, skintight suit which he was to wear under his clothing, as the scientists told him 'They had got all the information they could' from him.

He was addressed by the Police Chief as he left the institution, with an offer. The Police Chief offered Steven an entirely new identity if he were to help them, help the city. Fearing what would happen if he said no, Steven accepted, changing his name to Johnny Weeks.

Needing all the help they could get, the police advised Johnny to create an alias. Naming himself 'Alt,' Johnny accepted the offer from the police and went to act on it. Wearing the blue body suit, which covers his body from ankle to neck, and up the back of his head, Blur also wears a long, sleeved black jacket, long, grey jeans and a grey hood which covers his head and lower forehead. He wears no shoes as the suit would not protect them from falling off his body.

Beside the Chief of Police, no other person in the city knows of Johnny's secret identity, and he intends to keep it that way. Not because he fears being 'experimented' on, as he has already gone through such processes, but he fears those after his life. 'Alt' was given a police radio by the Chief, which is unknown to the other members of the force. Whenever he is in the vicinity of a crime in progress, Alt tries to solve it.

When he is not listening in to Police calls, Johnny works in one of the coffee shops in the city, as a waiter. Being that he was living in the labs through his younger years, Johnny had a limited education, so could not get into University.
