Here Be Demons Out of Character

Demons are swarming the earth. They once lived in their idyllic demon home, a plane of existence to the right. But they conquered it. And then they managed to open a portal into our world. Now the governments of the world don't like that. They'd rather bomb each other without having to deal with demons. And modern weapons don't work. So they pooled their resources and found the premier masters of magic. Then they formed a global organization who was meant to take down these damnable demons so the humans could get on with killing their own kind instead of having to fight others!

The organization, known to those within it, is called Scepter. It consists of martial artists training the battle-mages in weapon based combat, as only the might of human mettle and sculpted steel coupled with arcane powers have been able to successfully drive back the vicious monsters.

One team in particular, is making their way through eastern europe to spain before launching over seas to seal the portal. It's a long shot, but it's the only chance the humans have. By the time they get there, it can be hoped that they will be skilled enough to stop these beasts in their tracks.

All magics are elemental-- earth, fire, wind, light, water, metal-- if you can justify it as an element, it is so and thus fine. After extended usage, casters start to develop specialized magic as opposed to the general magic most everyone learns. And then, even longer, they can materialize a weapon made out of their magic energy that reflects their ideals, and merge the elements of weaponry and magic.

Example?:an axe that exudes lightning energy on each swing, slicing into that which can't be sliced by mere normal steel.

As I mentioned in IRC, give me a few days for some stuff to clear off my plate and I'll have a CS up.

Janus is exactly the type of person you think of when Irish stereotypes come into play. Drinking, swearing, and brawling are all vices that Janus wears like badges of honor. To him, life is a game that many people take too seriously; he could never figure out why people allow the stresses of everyday life to beat them down when they could simply be shrugged off without a second thought and nothing a few pints couldn’t fix for the more extreme situations. Janus isn’t the type to become angry or intimidated, but he is always up for a fight. Just for the shear sport of it, mind you. He is the type that would provoke a person into a fight, beat their ass in the parking lot, then buy them a drink and share a few laughs once the dust settles. Two drinks for the rare occasions where he loses.

Biography:
From the schoolyard to present day, Janus’ life revolves around fighting. It was by the shear grace of the Almighty that he managed to graduate from preliminary schooling; both because of the poor grades and the laundry list of offences that stained his permanent record in red ink. He hadn’t even turned eighteen before he participated in his first unlicensed boxing match. Despite his inevitable and bloody defeat, he absolutely loved the experience and immediately began training to make a career from it. Years passed and his skills grew exponentially to the point where he was unbeatable in just about any ring, octagon, or back alley.

Though his love for the brawl never wavered, Janus found himself becoming depressed by the lack of competition. It was around this time that all hell had broken loose (literally) and was offered a position within Specter. Ecstatic doesn’t even begin to describe his mood after being given this opportunity. He worked diligently to prepare himself to fight hordes of powerful enemies, for the thrill of fighting demons with nothing but his own two hands and abilities. Though the taming of the gravity element, Janus had made a devastating combination between his own fighting prowess and bone pulverizing force behind his attacks.

Tres bon. And that makes one! Are you gloves gonna have spikes? or just be armored like gauntlets (is interested!)

Armored like gauntlets on the knuckles (to make his punches hurt more, no need for spikes) and palms (to deflect blades), the rest is a flexible, but tough leather.

Name: Akako Amagawa

Appearance:

Biography: Born in Yokohama Japan he was the only son of famed Martial Artist Shiro Amagawa and such he was from the first breath he took a fighter. It was in his blood and in his soul. A descendant of a once proud warrior family Akako was truly a fighter.

School a worthless waste of time, the real lessons learned at his Father's Dojo. Tolerated only because it was his Fathers orders. But nonetheless he obtained the honor roll every year, even winning Top Student in his District three years in a row. Proving his mind was as strong as his body. Although he took pride in his academic achievements he still viewed school as a waste of time.

Day after day,week after week, month after month,year after year he grew stronger. Skills where drilled into him, subtle motions taught, reading the enemy, and finally the true Martial Art, where only the body is the weapon was his. And suddenly it all made sense in a strange sort of way. Human Nature was just that Human Nature. Something that couldn't be rebelled against no matter it's stupidity.

But when his Father acknowledged he had nothing left to teach him Akako was as determined as ever to find the cure for Human Nature. Along the way he has learned to take a quiet pleasure in taxing the stupid as it where.

As his quest drew on the true Martial Artist heard the rumors of demons flooding the lands of Men. And smiling quietly to himself he decides to ignore what he thinks the rantings of an old man who's mind had failed him but the rumors are heard from so many sources it is impossible to ignore. And soon he sees one of these Demons in the flesh. A being of power beyond his own Akako nonetheless decides to face it, determined to never show his enemy his back.

Despite his own considerable skills it is over all too soon. And as he lays on the ground the demon standing over him, it's blade raised to end his life it is all over. But not in the method Akako was expecting. Several members of Scepter show up. Killing the demon threatening to end his life they begin work on the rest.

And a new chapter was written in the story of his life. Deciding to join them he was introduced to a new aspect on what he never knew existed. But despite his inner feeling nothing showed through his ever present mask.

Instead he got right down to business. Or training rather, pushing his body past it's limits he soon excelled surpassing many who had started the training earlier then he. Nothing was beyond his reach, it was as if he already knew how to do it all, it was only his body that had forgotten.

Although trying several styles and even more then one element Akako came to harness the power of the wind seeing a obvious tie between it and his own speed and grace.
Persona: Akako has a quiet confidence about him,as if he already knows everything before it will happen. This has at times earned him the attention of the brain dead slobs who seem to take offense at his quiet confidence.

Or maybe the Hayabusa Hybrid MMA Gloves he is always seen wearing attract the attention of their singe brain cell. A born fighter he nonetheless has none of the attitude of most fighters. Instead he prefers to let his fist do the talking after all talk is cheap.

This philosophy has also worked it's way into his daily life. If he feels like your questions and words are worth answering he will. Otherwise all you'll get is a disdain filled glance and silence. If you feel like pressing the issue anyways, well I hope you have good medical insurance for Akako will break your body as a warning. He likes to call it the tax for stupidity.

However don't wake the demon and Akako is the best friend you'll ever have. A man who will do anything for his friends and those he cares about Akako is a man of principal.

As a side note the man is beyond using weapons considering them the tools of amateurs. He would fight without even the padded MMA gloves but he likes the message they send.

Well there is a certain purity to unarmed combat ya know. All Martial Arts ( at least the real ones) all start and end with empty hand techniques. I mean it is the purest form of combat when the only weapon is the one your born with and besides the sword wielding demon slayer is so overdone it is annoying.

Name: Delthan Deftinwulf

Age: 24

Appearance: Delthan has thick blach hair that's spiked up wildly. He wears glasses, but has been seen numerous times without them. His face is angular, with hints of a Japanese origin. He's 5'6", and very muscular.

Biography: Delthan came from a Shintoist family. Unfortunately, something very bad happened to them. When Delthan was 20, his family was ripped limb-from-limb by demons. Delthan, at college in America, only found out through internet news sources. He freaked out, quit college, went home... And saw the demons still there. He went into his family's shrine, silently, as to not wake the slumbering, gorged demons. He picked up the ceremonial swords his family had kept for generations... And slayed each and every goddamned demon in that house. Midfight, his magic was... Awakened, you could say. His swords glowed with a fantastic light, freezing any foul flesh they touched. He left the house, his weapons still in hand.

Persona: Delthan is stoic, to the point of seeming like a mask. Even when he's injured, his face hardly moves. He's been frequently been called an "Ice Sculpture".

Weapon: Revenge and Regret, two swords connected by a length of chain. Revenge is a thicker sword, almost a Dao. It's reddish in color, with black swirls surrounding the edges. Regret is a thinner, straight sword. It's light blue in color, with green surrounding the edges. They can be used in conjunction, used as a whip, or used solo, with the other one sheathed.

Name: Tricia Koehan

Age: 22

Appearance:


Biography: Ever since showing signs of strength at archery, her parents forced Tricia to train in the art. Soon, she became the best in her grade, then her school, finally winning national tournaments for girls of her age group. Within years, Tricia became one of the most accurate archers of her country, South Korea.

But that was put to rest once her parents noticed her poor grades. She had to get into a good college. Time would prove true, as her studies paid off, and she started majoring in bio-engineering. But before her studies could truly start, she was pulled out of the school by Scepter to learn her dormant magic and fight the demons that plagued her part of the world.

Persona: Bubbly, warm, comforting, nurturing. Those are all words that describe Tricia. She cares for her fellow man, and is a touchy-feely type. She often carries bandage adhesives and other similar products in case anyone she knows hurts themselves.

Weapon: Bow and Arrow. The bow is traditionally a flat bow for minion usage, but when the big baddies are called in, she swaps it for Heartbreaker, a composite bow made of the greatest alloys for bow strength and range. Her quiver usually holds around 30 bolts, for also for the big baddies, she uses special rounds of powerfully smelted ores.
