Byjôrd (Interest Check)

The Wars of Eternal Light (Working on a better name, promise) shattered the continent of Byjôrd. Where once great forests stood rose mountains. The rolling plains of central Byjôrd disintigrated into vast deserts. The great civilizations fell, leaving in their place remnants of their former glory.

The only thing left to do was rebuild.

Byjôrd is a fantasy world of my own making, just recently recovering from the ravages of war that left humans as the dominant species. The elves are slowly dying off, the vast majority believing themselves trapped in a great desert, the rest hiding in their forest homes. The dwarves and gnomes have blocked their mountain halls, refusing to let any enter. Dragons have cut off all connections with the world. Goblins, orcs, trolls and giants, once thought to be myth before the war, have returned.

I'm still putting the finishing touches on parts of the plot, but large stretches may very well be free-form.

So basically a large, persistant world where we, the players, handle various quests and slay various monsters for good or evil intent. Sounds like something I could get myself into. Consider this one as officially interested. I think we should have some sort of linear plot to start off with, but with perhaps the option for players to branch off and diverge from the current storyline to follow a complex web of side plots and distractions. I think our characters actions should have pretty hefty consequences as well, requiring that we actually give some thought into our actions before we mindlessly pillage the local village for plunder and pleasure.

I wasn't suprised to find you here either, and I had no trouble figuring out your new name.

Ross was ment ot be RossiUno, but none of that matters now. Though I am curious if it is only exhaustion that makes an "M" followed by a very long and complicated series of letters resemble the name RossiUno. Perhaps a little recreational use of psychotics could be involved?

I'm interested, but I have a question... Is the world going to be sort of styled after Norse mythology, or is the name Byjôrd just sort of misleading?

A lot of the mountainous human and dwarven/gnomish territories are going to be given something of a Norse feel, and the mountains will be home to the human capital... so... a little ( a lot ) misleading.

That's fine. I'm still interested.

My apologies to those of you who have waited patiently, the first week of school got to me, but now things should start evening out a bit.

Anyways, I'm going to refine some things, touch up my map, and then put up an OOC. Keep an eye on this thread.
