Alright then Fate! Time to get round to our first role play together ever! It feels weird to have helped you out so much at EL yet to have never actually role played with you before! XD Well, that is going to change as of now, eh?

Alright, the setting of this role play is obviously going to be Science Fiction, as we're both enthusiasts and I am brimming with a myriad of varying ideas for what our role play could be about! My ideas range from two specialist agents behind enemy lines on a planet thrown into war, trying to sabotage the foe and tip the battle in the favour of their side. Alternatively we could be two explorers hunting for treasures, tossed into an adventure in which new planets and species will be revealed! Or we don't even have to be on the same side and our characters could be rivals in completing a certain goal before one another! I also have brief ideas on two convicts being held on a prison moon when events make it possible for them to escape. We could even do a role play scenario where we are of two different species struggling to co-operate in the face of a much larger situation!

So, as I am sure you can see, I will need you to help me refine and develop one of these ideas, or merge two or more, so that we can finally have our role play! Smile

*cheers* cheers Yay, our first RP!

So, awesome! XD You have some really cool ideas to get us started out. I'm trying to think which one I would really like to write with you best, as they all sound like lots of fun! Immediately, the treasure hunter one stuck out to me, though that could be because we never got to do the one somewhat like that based in the EL universe, hehe. I also am really loving the idea of our characters be convicts trapped on a prison moon who, through some fortunate events, manage to escape. I think that could be a lot of fun. If we were on the run the entire time, it would definitely keep our characters on their toes, so there'd be a lot of obstacles for them to overcome (probably the first, finding a way off the moon). Maybe we could even make it into somewhat of a life lesson, like our characters could grow over the course of the role-play and find not only friendship with each other, but also find peace in themselves for whatever they did that landed them in prison. Who knows?

I don't know! Laughing Do you like that one? If not, which one would you care to play out?

Wow! Excellent start to developing that role play!

I'm not sure if you ever played the game Unreal? It is quite an old game, made in 1998 and on coincidence I happened to find it yesterday and decide to play it. To my pleasant surprise it is about a prison ship that crashes on a planet before it reaches a prison moon (I know, uncanny Razz ) and you play a prisoner who must escape this fascinating alien planet.

Anyway if you have played it I was thinking perhaps we could use that to help us develop the role play.

But to answer your question, yes, I like that idea and would love to play it out with you! Very Happy

Oh, perfect! Very Happy

Sadly, I've not played the original Unreal game. I was playing the campaign for Unreal Tournament 3, but my saved data got erased when onenitedrive's computer was having issues. I'm not sure how similar the first and third game are to one another, but I really wasn't paying as much attention as I should to the story in the third game anyway. Giggle

Anyway though, that sounds really cool! I can only just imagine. So, should we based ours off a prison ship crashing on a planet before it reaches the moon then? Because that could be a fun scenario too. Very Happy There could be like hostile natives to the planet and dangerous creatures and such.

The stories between the two games couldn't vary more. To be honest I am disappointed with how the story had formed from the first game. If they had stuck to their roots I think they could have done better.

Even Unreal II: The Awakening, was better than the Tournaments, because they give the Universe an almost comical look to it.

Anyway, enough of that, hehe, I do get carried away sometimes.

To be honest I don't mind how we start. If we want to be more expansive with the amount of things we can do then I imagine crashing a ship on an exotic an unknown planet would be the way to go, but if we want to be more original then escaping from a prison moon facility sounds like the better path.

Either way the planet/moon can be hostile and only partially explored or controlled by humans (in the case of the prison moon) and there can be plenty of different hostile species that we must deal with before we can escape.

Following the Unreal storyline escaping from an unknown world would make it harder for us to escape, as we would need to search the planet for a craft whereas I can imagine on a moon that is already explored and colonised by humans finding said craft would be easier and the environments would be more tamed.

What do you think?

That's really too bad that Unreal changed so much. I didn't even know that. I wish I had experienced the first one then. Actually, I believe the onenitedrive played the first Unreal and liked it.

I'm definitely leaning towards the moon idea, since you brought up some really good points. If we are on the moon, not only is that different, but we also could think up some interesting idea on how we manage to escape the prison. Plus, there could still be lots of hostile creatures living on the moon, and - like you said - it'd be much more belieavable to ultimately escape the moon that's already controlled by humans on a ship, rather than miraculously finding one on some random planet. Wink

So, let's go with that, if that's okay!

I'm going to need to work on a character now...or characters. I love to play at least two for some reason, lol. Is that all right in this case, you think? I'm also in the process of making a couple of characters for Lucian's The Pub RP. ^^

If you like you can most certainly play two, which is convinient since it is just the two of us. I'll start working on my character as well and information, like the Moon, names, etc.

Okay, here's my character! Let me know if you think something about her won't work. ^^
---

Autumn Lake

Female
27 years old (born September 7th)
Human

Appearance:
Photo
-medium length wavy red hair
-lush, green eyes
-fairly tall
-thin

Personality: friendly, outgoing, speaks her mind, nurturing, optimistic, determined, can push through anything, has an unbreakable will, wise beyond her years, will never back down from a debate, gets along easily with most anyone, has a strong sense of what's right and wrong

Biography:
Autumn's father, Shepherd, was the mayor of a space colony orbiting the Earth called Cosmopolis when he married her mother, Cecelia. Cecelia gave birth to Autumn onboard the colony city, making her one in the increasing number of space-born people. Autumn has only visited Earth once when she was a child while her father took their family there for business. She can only remember a few things -- the vast amounts of green grass and trees, the openness and fresh air, the pools of water, and the changing leaves of fall, for which she was named after.

As an adult, Autumn moved to a different district in the massive space city of Cosmopolis from her parents, where she met a wonderfully charming man by the name of Dustin. The two ended up falling in love, and on her birthday, he proposed to her. It wasn't long after, that Autumn found out she was pregnant. Dustin and she could not have been more thrilled and excited. Dustin's work as one of the city's doctors though kept him away from his wife for long hours, sometimes until very late in the evening to early mornings. One such night ended up changing both their lives forever.

When Autumn and Dustin's daughter, whom they named Tia, was five years old, a tragic event took place late at night. Dustin was kept at work, while Autumn and her daughter slept. Autumn was awakened though when she heard screams coming from Tia's room. Frantically, Autumn rushed to her daughter's room, only to find it completely empty. There was no trace of Tia or anyone else. Dustin immediately came home when he heard the news to find his wife speaking with the police.

Many weeks passed. There was no sign of Tia anywhere. Then, one day, some men showed up on their doorstep to arrest Autumn. They said that she had been charged with the murder of her daughter. Outraged, Dustin denied such a thing was possible, as did Autumn. Nevertheless, the men weren't interested in listening to them debate the accusation. They took Autumn into custody. She was then later tried and convicted of first degree murder. Autumn could not understand how such a thing was possible. It seemed the only ones willing to believe her were her family. Within just a few days time, they had plans to escort Autumn to the prison moon to serve her life sentence. Dustin was on the verge of a breakdown, having lost his only daughter, and now losing his wife to jail on a distant moon. Autumn, too, was beyond what words could describe.

Today, Autumn has been serving her sentence for one year. Until recently, she had been clinging to a sliver of hope that someone would be able to prove she was not guilty. However, once she got the news that her husband Dustin committed suicide, she lost all sense of reason and any sort of glimmer of hope.

Wooow amazing character Fate! Nice going! Very Happy Very touching!

Bronzi Jahiid

Male
31 years old (born August 5th)
Human

Appearance:
-Short, cropped black hair
-Dark, brown eyes
-Stands at an imposing 6'5
-Large build, muscle bound

Biography:
If you ask Bronzi about his childhood he will tell you nothing. Not to be mean or cruel or even mysterious, but simply because all he has ever known of his life before that upon the Prison Moon was working in the Therydium Mines of Delphus IV. According to the planetary mining authority's archives Bronzi was raised as a miner child, which meant that his parents were miners and their parents before them were miners. Such was often the case on planets that were turned over entirely to the mass production of minerals and metals for the welfare of more illustrious places in the human dominated Galaxy. Entire communities would live in less than comfortable settlements bordering the mine shafts and every single one of them, man, woman and child, would be a miner. It was all they knew and for most of them, all they would ever know. Not for them a life of luxury and leisure, no, they lived a routine of constant labour and little reward.

From birth the newest son of the Jahiid family was big. As he grew from a boy into a teenager and from there to a strapping young man Bronzi only got bigger. Some called it the work of nature upon the human physique, shaping and moulding the genes so that they would produce offspring befitting of such an arduous style of life. Others had darker thoughts that didn't involve nature in such schemes. Whatever the cause for Bronzi's size it didn't deter his life as a miner. Since the day he could lift a tool box he had been sent into the mines to harvest the precious Therydium. He quickly learned the ways of the mine shaft and became one of the most efficient, productive miners of Facility F8 on Delphus IV. By the age of 21 he was nick names the Giant and stories of him spread far and wide on the planet.

For the first time since the mining communities were founded, at least one family earned a little fame and wealth. The authorities, who maintained comfortable lives in the Orbital Stations high above Delphus IV, encouraged such stories. They rewarded the Jahiid family with a slightly more comfortable living in hopes of making an example of what happened to those who worked diligently for the good of the human race.

Life was good, for a while.

It happened on an early morning, before the rising of the sun had banished the most of the icy cold night. Mining shifts took place on a 24 hour schedule, some groups working nights, other groups’ working days. Bronzi worked the early morning shift and made his way down into the dank and dark tunnels of his mining quadrant. It happened without any possible explanation that the lowly educated miners could muster. An explosion tore itself through the main tunnel that Bronzi had been assigned to, killing dozens of miners and, more importantly in the eyes of the authorities, destroying millions of credits worth of equipment and material.

Bronzi and a handful of miners came out of that tunnel alive, all badly burnt and injured. The cause for the explosion had been due to a measure of laxity on the behalf of the authorities, who had overlooked the maintenance of the fuel lines in the tunnel. There had been a leak and then the frequent occurrence of a spark; perhaps from the grinding of a power cutter, perhaps from a welding torch, it didn't matter much. Of course the authorities couldn't admit to such a mistake themselves, lest they suffer the consequences of such a tragic incident. Naturally, a scapegoat was needed. It pained the mining administration little to pin the blame on Bronzi and the last of the miners for the accident, claiming that they had been messing around with equipment that they shouldn't have been.

The next thing Jahiid knew was that he was being shipped off to a Prison Moon for something he had not done. In the weeks that followed the rest of the miners perished, their injuries not tended to and only exacerbated by the cruelties of prison life. Now only Bronzi remains to suffer for the incident at Delphus IV. The one he had nothing to do with.

Wow! Your character is great too! Very Happy I love his background, and how you thought of those mining communities. I think all that probably sounds really realistic, too, about how they might have grown bigger with each generation, and that everyone born there became a miner and such.

Yeah, I'm excited!

So, how do you think our characters will manage to escape from the prison on the moon? Perhaps, one of the prison ships carrying a few of the latest criminals sentenced to live there has a malfunction and crashes into a portion of the prison, thus freeing some of the prisoners in that area? That's what I had in mind, but I have no idea what you were thinking, lol.

*ahem*

Yes! Sure, that would be very cool. So, big, strong hunter/warrior aliens who... Wait a second... They land on this moon to hunt defenseless prisoners? That doesn't seem right. Maybe...they purposefully set the prisoners free? So, that way they could hunt them like game? Hmm.

Ooh, that sounds awesome Fate! Very Happy

Awh, team work for the win! Razz

So, these hunter caste aliens land on the prison moon, slaughter the guard and blow open holes in the prison's steep walls and cut off the power, releasing the prisoners. Then, once the prisoners flee into wilderness, or some might even try and create a kind of fiefdom in the prison complex, the aliens begin the hunt!

Prison Moon orbits the Gas Giant designated 'S5-S12-P3' [Galactic Sector 5 - Solar System 12 - Planet 3], A.K.A ‘Devil's Eye’ due to its fiery red appearance. Prison Moon is designated 'S5-S12-P3-S1' [Satellite 1].

The Prison Moon is covered in vast, thick jungles with some mountain peaks piercing the seemingly eternal canopy. Hundreds of lakes dot the Moon's surface as well. Terraforming projects have rendered this satellite into a darker, primordial version of Earth.

Life forms were introduced from Earth and other planets as a test. Since then they have adapted and even evolved slightly to better survive in their environment.

Wow, I love the names you came up with for the moon and the gas giant it orbits. That is very cool how they name them!

I also like the jungle idea very much (that's also what I had in mind). Terraforming, too, would certainly make it an interesting atmosphere.

Oh, and I absolutely love the idea of life forms from Earth being introduced. Smile That's a concept that I am a fan of, hehe.

You seem to definitely possess a lot more knowledge on the topic than I do! XD Oh, well I would most definitely enjoy any novels you come out with! Very Happy That'd be so exciting. I'll be standing in line at Borders, waiting to check out, with your book in hand. ^_^

Oh, don't worry about it at all! I know what it's like to move in and out of interest. I really appreciate your honesty though. That means million times more to me than just some excuse, lol.

Sorry, too, that it's taking me so long to respond!! Lol, in all honesty, and I know it'll probably sound like I'm making this up, but I really have been busy since returning to school this quarter! I'm going to try and get my post up tomorrow though, after my class is over with. ^_^

I think the great thing with RPing with you though, is that we both understand that we have lives and whatnot, and I doubt either of us will hate each other if we can't post right off the bat, lol. You're a good guy, Tempest!

Sad

Something unexpected came up today... (I had to do chores by myself, rather than doing and finishing them with my fiance yesterday.) I started typing my reply to our RP, and I got a few sentences into it, before realizing what I was typing was dull and a lousy start. I've pretty much been drained since class and chores, but if I'm feeling any better after dinner, I'll try it again.

I would say I could just post tomorrow before my classes, but I still have to type up an entire background/plot on my video game I'm creating that's due tomorrow, so, that has to come first.

If I can't get my reply up today, I'm so sorry. I suck big time, I know.
