Looking For Heroes

If this all sounds familiar I have pitched the idea before. Certain aspects have change to allow further exploration of plot points.


Over the past few years several individuals have begun to display signs of super abilities. The recorded occurrences are becoming more and more frequent. While not the garden variety of super powers we have come to know of through the stories of old but a new generation of individuals ready to make their mark upon society.
Chloe and her friends find themselves among egotistical heroes and manipulative villains, and manage to fall directly in the middle as people with powers, but who just aren't strong enough to make a difference. Or that's what they've been told. As the city begins to melt down, it's hard to tell who the good guys are and who are the bad.'
The "supers" in the game are more of a nuisance to society rather than any great threat or asset. Many of their powers are simply mischievous in nature. Those powers that may be destructive or beneficial are extremely unpredictable or of short duration. Use of such abilities may affect the user as well.

Each player will also have a unique kryptonite/weakness as a disadvantage. Presented with their kryptonite the "super" may well find himself/herself at a distinct advantage. These weaknesses are purposely not listed so that your nemesis may not use them against you until they are discovered.

Another important aspect is your costume. Your costume is a direct reflection of your power. Be creative in your descriptions as they are an important part of who you are as someone who manifests an unusual gift.
The players will not only be serving as a “Neighborhood Watch” on behalf of the citizens of Smallville. Our heroes will be actively seeking answers on who they now are. How this all started and how is it all connected? Standing in their way are several obstacles:

1)The NSA. A government agency interested in bagging and tagging those displaying these unique abilities for research and tracking.

2)The Brotherhood of Mutant Evil. Those displaying powers much like you vying for the attention of the city through manipulative use of their powers. It is their activities that have drawn the attention of the NSA indirectly leading them to you.

3)An egotistical Super Hero unwilling to accept your “interference” in his affairs. In his eyes you are vigilantes compounding the problem.

League of Substitute Heroes (AKA The Inferior 5)

Thing is, the BME is completely out of hand and the NSA is now starting to investigate. What you need to do is keep the NSA from finding out about everyone's powers and keep the BME from doing too much damage. You want to live in obscurity with your powers.

Alright here is some additional information on the Inferior 5. Headquarters is an old fire station. The firehouse has two stories and is pretty large, so don't fret about space. We have a garage that holds all our equipment and a state of the art security system. Downstairs we have the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, the garage, the library, a workroom, two bathrooms, and an extra bedroom. Upstairs we have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and another workroom. The downstairs workroom is for studying, going over plans, etc. The upstairs workroom is for anything related to stuff we don't want anyone else to know. There's a basement, where people can get a better grip on their powers or just practice a bit.

So, five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two workrooms, one kitchen, one dining room, one living room, one library, a garage, a basement and a cool red fire truck.





While the Inferior Five are a set group designed to operate together there is also the possibility of others joining their crusade. They too are a part of the strange phenomenon that took place within Smallville. Feel free to fill out the skeleton below and PM me your concept. Who knows you may well come up with something that is worthy to be part of the Inferior Five. Until such time you will operate as an independent contractor.
