School for the Super-Enabled Empty School for the Super-Enabled

Post by Renji Tue Apr 10, 2012 7:53 am

Essentially here is the OoC post but if people are interested enough we will see if we can get it going!

School for the super-enabled

Plot: Camp Riveria has stood for many years in peace, its student's learning the importance of keeping their abilities a secret. Once graduated they tend to use them subtly for the good of those around them. Since the school started the rest of the world has lived in near blissful ignorance of the existence of people with abilities, with each country having its own school to tutor and look after their own kind.

Several years ago however rumours boiled up on the internet of the existence of what the media dubbed “mutated freaks” ie people with powers. How these rumours started no-one knows but what the super-enabled do know is there is a power moving against them, an unknown, unrelenting force. Are they human? Are they ability users? This is speculated often but all that is known is that whatever they are, it isn't good.

Setting: Camp Riveria is a place where children/teenagers are either sent, or inevitably escape to. A large school under the banner of a summer camp, Riveria is a place people with unexplainable abilities can go to learn about their powers and train them in safety. Being surrounded by forests the camp is secluded from the rest of the world allowing for a great deal of privacy as well as space to train. The school from the outside looks like a typical American Summer Camp with varrious small building dotted about the clearing in the woods. This however is an illusion created by the founder of the school many many years ago and despite his death the illusion remains intact. The school is a large stately house with several out buildings used for teaching or other activities.

Flyer for Riveria: This flyer is the schools way of locating and recruiting students to the school. these flyers can be delivered by former Riveria students that find out about a child with unique abilities, sent via the post to the address of the soon-to-be student, or the address is bombarded in a very Harry Potter-esq way, a student in need will always find a home at Camp Riveria.

RP RULES:

Don't be ridiculous with your powers. Obviously the characters are children/teenagers with under-developed abilities.
Be aware of the fact that your character may die if the GM/Co-GM deems fit.
This is a school so be aware that at some point your character may be detained.
Only sensible romance is allowed please.
The GM's reserve the right to do what they want to the story, when they want to.
They also reserve the right to add rules as they seem fit later on in the RP to limit characters who have become too over powered.

School Rules: (I'll add these as I work on it.)

This seems very Xmen-esque (that's a compliment coming from me).

Will the plot of this role play carry on beyond the school? If so, I'm in.

Essentially it is supposed to be very X-men like.

I want it to go in the general direction of: All the students are very inexperienced at using their abilities, hence why they are attending. After a few months something massive will happen, throwing them into the real world, if they survive. I'm going to be playing one of the teachers and controlling the head master who will have little roles now ans again.

Awesome. That's right up my alley. I'm in. I'll just play a student for now, if you don't get anyone else I can make a teacher character as well.

Hopefully this gets more interest, though FOG has been slow of late, so I wish us luck!

Boo for slow FOG.

I tried it on another site, it started well but is stalling so thought I'd try it here...

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I'm new to this particular forum (although I've lurked a bit and mostly do my RPing on another forum) but I'd love to be a part of this. Thinking of signing-up as a student. I could use a little Xmen-esque RP in my life. ^_^

Perhaps if you make a detailed OOC and we throw up our character sheets, we will find the two more people that you are hoping for?

Looks interesting enough to me, though I just recently join FOG. I must say if your willing to allow me to try my hand at joining your group I'm all for it. Also I noticed this thread has been dead for about a month, is it still active or were you unable to acquire enough members?
