As mountains turn to dust, and forests to soil, the infinite bubble of time continues to expand, waiting for neither man nor beast. A world split asunder, into the Ætheral plane and the real world where time seems to flow in strange directions, and creatures that not even a child's nightmare could conjure wage war in the vast emptiness of The Void, a place where time ceases to flow, where races are locked in war, ever evolving to out do their counterparts in a race for supremacy.

The world itself having been torn into two territories, Malea and Raal, after a great war is in constant peril of slipping back to the “Old days” where people with tallents for “the Arts” were taken at the age of 5 and trained to master their skills so that they could be put to work, either as battle mancers or working to build machines of war powered by the field, an unknown force that links the nodes which are strewn across the whole planet. Mancers draw their power from the field, as do the massive constructs used to wage war.

It is known from the Histories that another plane lies in parallel with Isipthia, yet no one but the greatest mancer throughout the whole of the Histories, Fyalith the Redeemed, has been able to open a successful portal to that cursed plane. It was decided by the Council of Malea that a second attempt would be made to open the portal, with the hope of finding a way to end the constant power struggle on Isipthia. The Council gathered the reigons most powerful mancers to the spot where Fyalith had opened her portal, and attempted to recreate the monumental event. It took the best part of 2 weeks to get everything into position and to begin working the field to produce the portal. Despite this all the mancers hard work paid off and a giant worm hole opened before them. The cheering was brought to an abrupt halt as the portal was ripped from their control and redirected towards The Void. Even drawing on all the power the nodes could supply the mancers failed to regain control and horde after horde of creatures poured out of The Void, no mancer or labourer surrvived the initial onslaught long enough to relay word of what had happened. As the last mancer was slain the portal snapped shut, sealing the void once more. The creatures began to wage war against each other once the portal had snapped shut and eventually only one race was left standing, the Zynolith. A mighty winged race, whose bodies were covered by a thick exoskeletal armour that flashed in all sorts of colours. Some were great mancers while others were mighty soldiers. Even the shortest amongst their race stood at 6'9”. The only disadvantage they had was that they were weighed down by their armour plating as the field like force they were used to in The Void was much stronger, so their movements weren't hindered by the bulky armour.

Several years later and the two regions have united in a common front, faced with annihilation by the merciless Zynolith. War is being waged in both lands against this new aggressor. All manner of new war machines are being made by the manufacturies. The newest being a massive 8 legged crawler. Powered by the field and controlled by those who show the talent for it, theses massive armoured constructs are armed with twin javelin throwers and can carry up to 16 soldiers.

The war appears to have entered a stale mate. With both Nations united under one council, and the Zynolith giving a relentless onslaught, things couldn't possibly get worse for the world, but something is coming...something that will change this world forever.
