        On calm beaches, it whispers. Through the valley of shadows it screams. In the essence of creationism and through the stages of evolution does it linger. It grows in the branches of every tree, carried on the wind with a gentle breeze. Immortalized in books, beatified in statures of porcelain and marble, monuments to the one thing that shows the great and evil things that have been done and will be done again. Without it we are nothing, with it we can learn from our mistakes, though we make many, its lessons are never too far off hand. In the great world of Lesaud, there are those who cannot survive in its absence.

        History and memory is a necessary piece to the puzzle of life. We are not defined by our own histories, but we can learn from what we have memory of. To ensure the safety of history, the God’s created Saga, a creature in long robes whose job it was to dictate all of the patterns of life into The Book of Memory. When one page is filled, another takes its place, and so on and so forth. Written in its own blood, Saga’s only vice is to ensure the safety of his work and continue to protect history from fading.

        Fakanna and Jacoba are two sisters born of royal blood. Both raised with the ideals of mercy, benevolence, honor, and justice, yet only one agreed. The other, with a darkened heart hated the life she was leading. To be told on what to do, how to rule her people when it was her turn to take the crown, and then, having to share it with her younger sister. When she turned of age, Jacoba threw her necklace at her father’s feet and took to the seas, never to return again…

        During the hours of twilight, a group of unknown hooded figures stole into Saga’s keep, and though it stayed, its hands moving faster than any one on earth was capable, the leader drove a sword through its heart, and ended its existence. Saga’s mortality was the only flaw in his grand design. Thought to rule the world, the bandits, lead by a much older Jacoba, unknowingly plunged the world into darkness. The histories, memories and stories built by those who lived in Lesaud were shattered and forgotten, all creatures great and small collapsing in the very instant that Saga passed; only to wake up moments later…

        Forgetting everything they had ever known.

        Without the order of justice, Lesaud plunged into chaos. Riots, thieves, bandits and pirates began to emerge. Without a King or Queen to guide the people, life carried on in the most chaotic of manners. Luscious greens died under the lack of tilling of farmers, and food was falling shot in supply because there were no herders or fisherman to keep up with supply and demand. Everyone had forgotten everything, except for one person…

        A safe passage clause allowed the royal blood line two members of their family to retain their memory, if anything ever happened to saga. The necklace that Jacoba had neglected would have saved her from the darkness, but it was Fakanna that stayed. Now, with the shell of The Book of Memories, it is her responsibility to roll with the bunches and follow the clues left behind by the Gods to piece the book back together and bring history and thus, a future, back to her beautiful home, Lesaud.

        The Now....

        Fakanna has gathered up her money, purchased a great sea-farring vessel to take her around the world in search of the clues left behind by the Great Gods in heaven, which may lead her to the threshold of rebirth. However, her sailing skills are lets say, subpar, and this is a task she cannot complete on her lonesome, she needs to hire a crew, and how! If she stands in the market place with a sign-up sheet, she might as well have her wish come true, if she can survive the heaviness of the markets without having all of her items stolen. Your journey begins in the market place of Lumis. You need money and to get that, you need a job. Perhaps at the tavern, but you don't know if you are people orienteted enough for that. Perhaps a ring fighter? Maybe you aren't really one for violence. But that girl at that lop-sided wooden table, she has a piece of a paper and a sign. That could be your ultimate meal ticket....

    Humanity was the second, not the first, creatures to be born onto Lesaud, they have been modeled after their more elegant and prominent siblings, the Drwy. Humans are a bit more easily found, though much less versatile than anyone else on the planet. They cannot sustain themselves in constant sunny deserts or in freezing frigid wastelands.

    The humans retain life in Karhnham despite how dangerous and ridden with thieves and bandits it is, and in major parts of Lumis, where they have established camps and caravans for other traveling humans who are in need of food and shelter. Like the Drwy, they have been denied a home since the fall of Saga, their only will is to hang onto the thread of their existence.

    They are more prone to diseases than any other race, and have a hard time with conception, which would explain the lack of numbers amongst their race. They say that humans have also been tapped with a string of bad luck because in some small way, they had been bound to Saga just like the royal bloodline, but everything is hear-say.

    Humanity//

    Population- Less than 11,000 known.
    Region- Karhnham and Lumis only.
    Weapons- There is no specific weapon usage, because humans are relatively clever, having not mastered one weapon but the use of many.
    Magical Abilities- None that are hereditary.
    Appearances- The only specifications have to do with family genes, other than that, they have a variety of hair, eye and skin colors.
    Personality- Depending on what area of the town they grew up in, humans can have an array of different attitudes.

♪♪T H E D R W Y♪♪

    It was said that the Drwy were creatures carved in stone by the God's long before the creation of humans. They were the harbingers of creation at the dawn of their own. From ash comes life, and that was their initial responsibility in their life, so see to it that the sun would rise and fall in an orderly fashion, and that life in Lesaud would assume each time that the sun would come up over the horizon.

    However, that was just a legend. The Drwy are respectable, beautiful creatures with a knack for fire bending, which is what was meant in their legend, they are able to harvest something that can destroy and rebuild. The Drwy are even more extinct than their human siblings, and though aware of their existence, passer-by's tend to stare at them in wonder that they may be seeing the very last Drwy in existence.

    There is no longer a home that these elves call their own, because it was destroyed a long while ago, long before the death of Saga. A rock, which was a meteor, fell from the sky and destroyed it. Most took this whole happening as a sign from their God's that the Drwy had not been accomplishing the tasks assigned to them all those years ago, and that they were bad luck, which is why not many find themselves conversating with a Drwy, but do not hate them.

    They themselves are peaceful, having lost their faith in the heavenly beings they once worshiped, they travel Lesaud looking for work, a new life and a new hope for their survival.

    The Drwy//

    Population- Less than 1,000 known.
    Region- They have not been spotted in a general area.
    Weapons- The Drwy rely on their speed and precision to cut through opposition, though some of them have been seen carrying swords of all sizes, bow and arrows, and a few throwing daggers.
    Magical Abilities- The Drwy get their power from the sun, each time that it rises, the ruby on their ring lights up, and they are able to create and manipulate fire into any means they see fit.
    Appearances-
    The Female: Usually between five feet and five foot five. Having bright red hair to an almost pale brunette. The eye color varies, though during power usage, all Drwy elven eyes turn crimson
    The Male: Pale white is the usual color, however, golden and ebony are the two other colors that have been noted and or seen. Standing somewhere between 5 foot five, and six feet.
    Personality- Persnickety, and a little high on themselves, the Drwy are just like any elves, very classy and prominent, but do have a vengeful side due to the destruction of their race. However, family settings could change this effect.

♪♪T H E W Y R N S♪♪

    Wyrns are the most stunning of all creatures, with an attitude to match. They were born of the sea, and will die of the sea when their days have ended. So long as there is water on Lesaud, there will always be Wyrns. They are the protectors of Lesaud's precious commodity, and because of their beautiful skin, are able to cleanse the water just by standing it in. It is a most lovely feat, their skin, if you look close enough, is actually comprised of tiny minuscule scales that cannot be seen by just looking at a Wyrn. In the water, their scales open up and release a naturally made chemical compound that kills bacteria, germs and other harmful toxins.

    Other than that, Wyrns have a very sunny disposition, despite how much they are picked on by other races. Though Saga has left Lesaud and its inhabitants crippled, the Wyrns seem to be prospering and that is cause for jealousy amongst the other races. These gentle elves, however, do not hold it against the others, and merely do the best that they can with what they have. Lumis is the only actual place they reside, the tropical warm waters make a great home for them, and though they set up shop on land, the entire village is submerged in water, which is hard to get too unless a Wyrn invites you to their homestead and takes you there himself. Despite this, Wyrns are not accepting of other races in their home because of the treatment they get on the others homestead. Why should they be so forgetting of that?

    Wyrns are very allergic to the sun, that is also why Lumis is the home of choice for them, they are so near to tropical waters where they can replenish their life substance. Without water for too long can cause fatigue and death if prolong exposure continues.

    The Wyrns//

    Population- 100,000
    Region- They generally stick to Lumis, unless traveling, in which they can be found all over the place in the waters.
    Weapons- Tridents, spears, some even use whips, but nothing too heavy
    Magical Abilities- Using water, these creatures can do just about anything, as long as there is water to bend. If they are in a place where there is not even water in the ground, they cannot use their powers at all.
    Appearances-
    Normal colored skin to silver colored skin. Bright blues and greens for eyes, and long and pointy ears. Their hair is always long and full of strange items from the sea like pearls and shells, just a ceremonial wear to their culture. Dress code varies. They get cold easily if the temperature drops below the seventies.
    Personality- Always in a cheery mood, though as with any race, not everyone can be happy all the time.

♪♪T H E S H A R M♪♪

    Possibly the only race that goes looking FOR trouble and IS trouble, all in the same dark-skinned package. Heavily armed and great fighters, these creatures are living not because their species did not feel the blow from Saga's passing, but because of their volatile nature and will to survive no matter the challange. They have been fighting the odds against them in Gwanseer, the desert wastelands they call home. Giant Sand Snake attacks, sand storms, long days and nights of high temperatures that are enough to dry out a whale in under thirty seconds, the fact that they are standing even today proves their driving spirit.

    There are plenty of nutrients in the desert however that the Sharm attend too. Cactus fruit is amongst the leading provider in desserts and fruit drinks. Though they would prefer to stay on their own turf, many Sharms have taken to the market vending streets of Lumis to sell their goods, which is always a big hit. Another thing they are famous for is their knowledge in illegal weaponry. If you need it, don't worry, they have it, but at a price. Of course, they sell their goods for cheap, you just have to pass the survival test by crossing the desert to their only city which lies smack-dab in the center.

    No one knows who they descend from or what God they were constructed by, all is known is that they are mighty warriors with a strength equal to practically none, aside from the Itroffs of whom they have never met.

    Tragedy, however, is beginning to strike at the desert wasteland, as frequent Sand Snake attacks have been in uprising since a few years before Saga's death. Those who survived had no idea they were carrying a recessive trait that effected their genes at the cellular level, leaving newborns with strange changes to their body. Some had shiny scales, others, serpent like eyes, and even clawed hands and feet and other strange abnormalities, but the Sharm are not creatures with huge divinities, and accept these strange beings as part of their clan.

    The Sharm//

    Population- Possibly 140,000.
    Region- The markets of Lumis, and mostly residing in Gwanseer, their desert fortress of Plume'barb.
    Weapons- Swords, scimitars, whips and anything else they can get their hands on.
    Magical Abilities- Have a knack for wind manipulation. Small tornadoes, breaking large stones in half. It is an amazing feat.
    Appearances-
    Dark-skinned, yellow eyes and ebony hair is the gist of their looks. However, red hair and dark brown has been a few colors mixed in, along with red colored eyes and strange dragon colored.
    Personality- Seemingly ruthless in battle, they are extremely sarcastic and witty when it comes to conversation, they are quite the pessimists, but have the tendency to be kind to someone who has proven their strengths worthy.

    Pronounced, (Kn-e), these very silent, very primitive beings stick to their home land, and no where else. They are lovers of nature, protectors of the belief in the Gods, and guardians of lost souls. They are the bridge between The Material Plane and The Spectral Plane, and are fully aware of The Arnune Plane, where the Gods are believed to be sleeping. They are Rune Casters, people with uncanny skill that ONLY Pnee are allowed, but have been known, very rarely, to take in acolytes of different races to teach them of this holy magic.

    Like Mystic Thurges, Pnee have the ability to speak with those passed on. Though they themselves have no dialect that can be heard, it is said that they can speak with one another in a form of telekinesis, of course, unless you are a Pnee, there is no true way of knowing this for sure. The Plane Walkers, as lost souls have been known as, are able to visit Pnee in their sleep and reveal secrets to them, though broken into segments because speaking with them is a painful experience.

    There are three levels of Rune Casters, Dyneem Caster, Archine Caster, and Stelf Caster. Depending on what atonement you are aiming for, each are relatively deadly, the last, however, is forbidden. All Pnee live entirely in harmony with one another, and have cultivated a mountainous land into a safe-haven for all the Pnee species. It can almost be compared to Gilead, or the Garden of Eden.

    The Pnee themselves are strange looking creatures with a near pale complexion and entirely black eyes. They wear heavy ceremonial robes in dark shades and carry with them stave's carved from the trees where their bodies will lay to rest under when it is their passing.

    The Pnee//

    Population- Unknown
    Region- Tarkaak (Tar-kack)
    Weapons- They carry ancient Rune Books, but other than their Casting abilities, they are not weapon fighters.
    Magical Abilities- Rune Casting depends on the genre of the Pnee's choosing.
    Appearances-
    The Female: Long crystal colored hair that glistens in the sunlight with the power of a thousand prisms. Their skin is pale and their eyes are ebony.
    The Male: Usually have no hair, and many, many tribal tattoos that have the same properties as the female Pnee's hair. Their eyes are ebony, there are no variances.
    Personality- Quiet, justified, humble and kind, these creatures know that justice can be cold, and if death is needed, they will not hesitate to commence an attack. They are not weak, that is for sure.

    Humanoids are the least of your problems however much of a threat they impose, the creatures of this vast world that have called this place home since the dawning of creation have never been more tyrannical than this period of time, now that they have scattered themselves and populated at a much faster rate, their attacks are more frequent than before...

    Karhnham//
    Arbalester, Homunculus: Vine like creature that lays silently on trees before it grabs its prey and slowly, and painfully consumes it. The forest surrounding Karhnham has a lot of hungry vegetation, and should be approached with caution
    Blightspawned: Another plant that looks to be a giant beautiful flower, but do not approach it, spitting poison barbs at 45 miles an hour is rather dangerous if you are void of a healer.
    Centipede, Small Spirit: The only creatures in the forest that do no harm to human beings, they actually look like small fireflies in the night. Up close, they are just winged centipedes with bright green eyes and a glowing skeleton, which gives them that firefly look. They are always harmless.
    Fungus: Though no physical harm can be commenced, the Fungus, giant mushrooms, have a purple colored myst that puts adventurers to sleep, which lure the Abalester to feed, and whatever remains are dropped by the flesh eating plant, the Fungus feeds on.

    Barst//
    Branta: Is the large Snow Worms that sailors have spotted feasting on the Baleen Whales that beech themselves in the snow when the tide has gotten high. They have no eyes nor ears, and come equipped with very motion sensitive reciprocals located all over their bodies. They have rows and rows of large teeth and it takes three months for swallowed food to digest... don't get eaten!
    Ice Beast:Wolf like creatures that tend to look like floating balls of mist when not in their true form. They hunt in packs, do not let them surround you because they are fast and proficient killers.

    Lumis//
    Anguillian:Sea faring fish that can live in the ocean as well as the sky. They are categorized by their brilliant rainbow colors and long beautiful tails.
    Baleen Whale:These gentle giants make their home throughout all of Lesaud's water, but prefer the refreshing warmth of the Lumis waters.
    Megalodon: Small, mechanical creatures in the shape of sharks are what crowd the colder regions, no one knows where they came from, but they were not constructed by the gods. It is best to avoid these metal menaces all together.

    Gwanseer//
    Swarm, Bronze Locust: These metallic colored bugs are harmless by themselves, however coupled with tens of thousands, can block the sun from shining in Gwanseer. Fire is their only weakness, eliminate them before they do you...
    Gargantuan Sand Snake: The worst creature known to the desert, this beast of a worm can weigh up to three tons, having the same properties as their ice cousins, however, these creatures have venom in their bite that tends to mutate the person bitten to having the Sand Snake's qualities.
    Watchspider: Digging burrowed holes, these spiders wait for passerby's to step near their traps, and then, go in for the attack. Though they are not as large as some people think, their poison paralyzes its victims and eats them alive.
    Gem Scarab: Tiny little gem colored bugs that meander the deserts. Upon dieing, these creatures make beautiful jewelry, and after cooking and steaming a very tasty treat. These creatures also make a beautiful whistling sound, and together set the desert ablaze with a beautiful melody. They cause no harm nor threat.

    Tarkaak//
    Treant, Elder: Tarkaak must be the only place on Lesaud that has no creatures that have a hostile nature, unless provoked. The Elder Treants have been living since before the Pnee every settled here, and they protect them and the entrance to their home. If they sense danger, these gargantuan trees cause quite a mess if you allow them.
    Spirit Tree:These trees actually reside inside of Tarkaak, and are the most beautiful organic things in all of Lesaud. During the sun they light up like the sun, bright oranges and deep reds, and at night, is when they truly blossom. A beautiful shade of pale pearl illuminates the inner sanctum of Tarkaak and actually sing like the beautiful flute. They are how the Pnee channel their outer worldly powers because they protect the good souls of Lesaud.
    Dryad:Beautiful and elegant tree folk who appear to travelers through the trees as curious girls, laughing at whoever comes near. They are playful and often friendly to anyone who allows them to come so close. However, frighten one, and you may never see them again.

    Lesaud is easy to navigate for any vessel sea faring the clear waters. It is designated into five main continents, and three minor islands, not including the greatest island land mass, Lumis.

    ••Karhnham// Northern Continent, where the Kingdom of Lesaud once dwelled. A still thriving continent, and is constantly under attack by bandits that raid the old castles.
    ••Inhabitants// Mostly humanoid. A few remaining elves, but mostly human. The Dwry are elves who delve in the usage of fire magic, powered by the sun, like the humans, they are a dying breed. Without the sun, they are incapable of using their magic. They are marked by the rings they wear with a very large ruby.
    ••Barst// Southern Continent, extremely cold, covered in ice with twenty degree temperatures during the hottest days. These lands have not been claimed, or so it seems.
    ••Inhabitants// None Discovered, but there have been tales of strange creatures staring at ships as they pass the continent. Though nothing has been documented.
    •• Lumis// The largest island land mass in all of Lesaud. It has been converted into a gigantic sea port for traveling ships to gather supplies and rest. Comprised of mostly shops, taverns, street markets, and trader huts. You can say Lumis is one enormous bazaar.

    •• Gwanseer// Western Continent, this has and always will be, a desert. Cactus, sand storms, the constant Sand Snake attacks, it is hard to call this place home. However, there are a few inhabitants, and to get the best raw materials, cutting out the middle man price, one would have to travel to Gwanseer's primary city, where you can find an array of illegal weaponry and other outlawed supplies.

    ••Tarkaak// Eastern Continent, a fair array of temperatures, surrounded entirely by mountains, a valley at their feet where the main city resides. Tarkak is known for their healing ointments, and its very secretive natives.
    ••Inhabitants// The Pnne, (pronounced 'knee,') Are incapable of speech, there are stories about them being able to speak through their minds, but this has never been proven true or false. They dress in ceremonial robes, and spend their days praying to something or someone, and tend to their prospering land. Some claim that this is the only group of people of whom God had not abandoned....

    Fakanna knows that she must complete the task her family had been prepping for for over three hundred years. She MUST without hesitation, discover how to fix The Book of Memory before she ceases to remember the written language written around Lesaud. To do this, she has taken her families vast wealth and purchased a vessel, called, The Frozen Maiden. A beautifully tinted green ship, with a mermaid cased in ice crystals adorning the front. She is standing outside of the ship, at an unsteady wooden table, taking applications. Fakanna knows that she cannot do this alone, and hiring a crew is going to be a difficult task....

    Technology and Lesaud//

    Before the book was destroyed, technology was much like the modern day we see now in our own world. Aside from the skyscrapers and modern housing. In retrospect, they had guns and castles. Which makes for a very pleasing world.

    Now that memory has been destroyed, so has the technology and how to build it. That's not to say that everyone is an idiot, just, there is no one to build these great machines to the mass public, which is why guns have now been outlawed. The gun is too powerful, and healing is not enough to cure the damage it causes. If you are someone who delves in machinery and weapons, you most likely have one, despite the laws against them.

    For now, most weapons are going to be of the olden-age kind. Swords, spears, bow and arrows. Chinese and Japanese weapons are accepted, but please remember that there is no such thing as Japanese and Chinese people in Lesaud.

    Before getting into these creatures, the reason they are placed here instead of the creature list, is I do not want others to get confused in thinking that they can portray a creature who has never been seen before. They are so sensitive to history that even just one venturing into the cities could prove fatal, for everyone will fight to take even just a quick glance at one. It could mean mass hysteria or something far worse, but I thought it best to describe them regardless.


    The Itroffs are a secretive race, much like their children species, the Pnee, but no one on Lesaud has ever seen them. (I thought it would be best to explain them to you, just so you personally know, they might play a huge role later on down the road) These crystalline beings are comprised of ice and crystal compounds for bodies. They are usually hair-less, their eyes solid white, and can almost be seen right through as if looking into a window. Though some appear as ice-like humanoids, for those who have EVER laid eyes upon them.

    Their creation was never really understood because they are almost a vile sort of creature, very temperamental and have a huge need for privacy above all else. Their language is understood by perhaps one in a billion, it resides all over the world, yet no one never really knows what language they are able to speak, IF they are able to speak it. Mayac is a cross between a hollowed wind and a flute tone. Speaking in three rhythms that start slow, then fast, and back to slow. It is said that if you stand out in the snow, you can almost hear them speaking to one another. Their language is explained in further detail by Quantum Physics, a rarely practiced set of infurances on the way the world works. Using a proper diagram, with fictional lines in space and perfect abstract shapes, you can almost map out their dialect. But it is virtually impossible unless you belong to this group.

    Like the Pnee, their mind is almost entirely used, they are categorized as the only creatures capable of lifting objects in another time and space and moving them to whatever place and time they deem worthy, however, again, this has not been confirmed, for those who go looking for the Itroffs never come back alive. Barst is completely surrounded by snow storms and cold the likes which have never been seen, most stay clear of it all together. They say that sailors have spotted the most vicious looking beasts lingering on the beaches, eating the carcasses of whales.
