Farther From Home

Lily Takashi// a.k.a. "Red"

Age: 17 about to turn 18
Gender: female
Heritage: Japanese/other (half Japanese, half American, basically)

Appearance:
Red stands a slender height of 5'5, with pale skin from having survived in a dark cellar for two years. She has long hair that is longer in the back than it is in the front. It is dyed a smooth scarlet tone, though shows black roots and streaks of black, as well as streaks of cream through it. Her eyes are a smooth hazel, with green along the pupil that fades to an autumn blue at the edge. She appears Asian, although has many more Americanized features that give her a strange beauty. Along her left upper arm is a dragon tattoo that is a symbol representing a particular gang called the 'Black Dragons'. She has many many scars along her back and abdomen, and around her chest. She has needle-point scars on the inside of her arms that possibly suggest drug abuse. She also has scars along her wrists- ones that look like chain marks.
Red is first found in a tight white wife beater and tattered fitting jeans, as well as very worn Union Bay shoes (looks like slip-on Converses with a beige body and red roses on the side).

Personality:
Very quiet. Red has been emotionally shattered, best said. She flinches and whimpers at most things, and doesn't speak unless spoken too- if even then. She doesn't like to be touched but she won't push someone away if they do, only show the slight distaste and sorrow for the action. Red thinks like a child who has been beaten for breathing- because she takes all blame for all actions, and acts as though all hatred, anger, and mishap is caused by her somehow.
She is a soft soul, but a torn one as well. Red easily comes off as abused, alone, and afraid.

History:
A normal and vibrant girl- the epitome of Lily Takashi around the age of fourteen/fifteen. She had rich parents, a nice home, and a so-called perfect family. Social and perfect, this child was a wonderful and beautiful creature... But all good things come to an end.
-
When a deal goes bad with her father's underground connection with a new drug called Cavelix, a large underground gang begins a hunt to take back due on him. What they find is a beautiful young woman, his daughter, who would be the perfect thing for their businesses.
Three men, each a head of something large in the street world, kidnapped Lily Takashi, and held her hostage in their cellar.
-
For two years she was kept a slave; beaten, raped, abused, and used as an experiment and advertisement for three bosses of the Black Dragons. When all was lost, one of them- Max, head of identity transactions, allowed her to be free. He gave her a thin wallet with 100 dollars, and a memory drive that held videos of her torture, as well as documentation of illegal actions and business. It was the evidence she would need to put the three thugs away.
But Red had lost herself in the never-ending captivity.
And her newest challenge was just escaping- with the three bosses hot on her trail...

Story?:

-Lily Takashi was kidnapped at the age of fifteen, and has been missing ever since. After one year, she was presumed dead.
But after two, she escaped.

Lily (now known only as 'Red') was a hostage, held by three men who were, and still are, big dogs in the business of drug trafficking, prostitution, and identity theft transactions.

But she's been freed, and she seeks an escape. After two years of being abused and beaten, and tortured unbelievably, she has lost most of her common behaviors and now exhibits stranger ones in place of those.

Seeking to find someone to hide her, she must learn to relive, as the underground world of gangs and sin rises up to find the escaped teen hostage who holds enough evidence to completely destroy their business pyramid.

Demetre Rutherford

Age: 20
Gender: Male
Heritage: Russian/American (Russian on his mother’s side)

Appearance:
Demetre stands tall at 6’1 with peachy skin. He is slender and fit. He does have a broad back and he has broken out of the boyish look about his face but his cheeks are still touched by it. He has short dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He has scars on his wrists where he has tried to kill himself in the past. He doesn’t have any other scars on his person nor does he have any tattoos to speak of. He does have a cross earring in his right ear to mirror the one his sister had. It was supposed to be a symbol of how close they had been before she died.
Personality:
When he was younger, Demetre had been a shy boy and uncertain about the circumstances he found himself in. He kept himself reserved and over the years his bottled up emotions began to seep out in the form of cuts he made on his body. It was a way for him to release his frustration while he kept silent. When his sister died he changed and started to show his emotions more due to the fact he made a promise to her. He opened up to people and showed the caring and hyper side of himself he always kept hidden around people. He slowly gained his confidence back and often tries to help people since he knows what it feels like to be the underdog with no one to turn to. Before, he was the coward and bowed down to pressure but he has learned how to deal with people and shows a stubborn side.

History:. His father was a drunk and his mom was stuck in rehab and he was always bullied around because of his family history. He didn’t play with other children and tried to cope with his family even though his father offered little encouragement and usually beat him down rather than offer advice. He often went to his older sister to vent out his pain since she was always there for him. Over time, he started to become inverted and stopped speaking to everyone. His father often abused him for things and he knew his sister always stood up for him. Her price was her innocence. Their father often called his sister to his room and Demetre was too afraid to save his sister from him.

Around the age of fourteen Demetre started to test himself by trying to touch candle flames. The pain he got from the fire was on way to relieve the stress he felt. When that failed to help him, he turned to cutting himself. His sister caught him and saved him from his attempt at suicide. Then she started him on the track of recovery. He would talk to her for hours about things and he started to open up a little. For her last birthday, he bought her a pair of earrings. To show their bond, she gave him one of the earrings to keep. A few days later his father killed her in a drunken anger.

Demetre was distraught for weeks and started to cut himself again but then forced himself to stop thanks to the promise he made with his sister. It took an agonizingly long time before he no longer had the urge to cut himself and opened up to people around him. He moved out of his parent’s house as fast as he could and managed to get an apartment on his minimum wage job. He still goes to school and does what he can for the less fortunate and offers them a hand like his sister had given him. He often blames himself for her death and this is his way of repentance.

Well...

I search on multiple places. If I'm looking for something fantasy, I search places like DeviantArt. This website, FOG, has an icon over the post box of a picture and a floppy disk, and it will convert any image (saved or a link to a picture) into a certain size so that you can put it inside of [ img ] / [ /img ] brackets and create a picture.

If it's realistic, or I'm searching for a multitude of photos, it's places like Google Images, or Dreamstime.com . Even then, I still search DeviantArt for some images, and just am wary of copyrights and whatnot.
