Why's the chat gone and died though? Gadreille told me people only seem to use it for collaboration nowadays, which seems kinda sad.

What I said isn't totally true, mind you. People do still chat in there, but a lot of the time I personally am in there is when someone has asked me to join it.

I think a lot of it is to do with the 15 minute timeout on that chatbox as well as it having no message recieved signal, both which unfortunately cannot be undone without forumotion putting the work in. It's hard to just leave it up all day and wait for people to come on, because you have to refresh every so often. I know people try to go in there but a lot of the time they don't wait more than 15 minutes for someone else to arrive.

That... is unfortunate. Couldn't we just go back to the old IRC? That's still running somewhere, isn't it?

The IRC is no longer truly affiliated with FoG, and as a result, it's not very active any more. I never use it. I prefer the chat box, but I only use the chat box if I see more than one person in it... >.>;;

Well, hopefully I figure something out. I mean, honestly, that social aspect was one of my favorite things about FoG when I first joined, and I'd like to see if I can't bring it back in some form. I know everyone's still around (well, some of them anyway), but communicating through generic discussion threads on a forum just don't have the same feel as a chat room, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, hopefully I'm not the only one interested in bringing back that sort of chat room activity. 'Cause, you know, that'd be kinda awkward. >.<

I've actually logged into the chatroom once or twice using the actual mibbit page, but no one was ever there (or...I could have been in the wrong room, who knows) so I never stuck around. And when I click on the link through the page here, it reminds me that my nickname is password protected and I need to sign in. XD I'll figure that out, but Linc, if you'll be back in the chat, I'd be more than happy to head back there. I miss that place!

I'm not sure if the IRC is actually a good plan-- I mean, if it's no longer associated with FoG officially, I don't want to try and make a big deal pulling people there when FoG has an official chat thingy of it's own (at least, not without running it by some form of staff member first). But I am going to try and be as active as I can in the chatbox for now, so, you should totally drop in there from time to time.
