OOC: A Knight's Pride

Closed one on one RP between Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth and Digital Muse.

Alright. This RP will take place between two fictional kingdoms set in medieval days. The story is a Lord has arranged for his daughter to marry the son of the ruler of a neighboring Kingdom in order for both parties to gain power through the marriage. A lone knight is assigned the task of collecting the bride to be and bringing her safely to the neighboring kingdom (Which would be a fair journey away) to meet her fiance and prepare for the wedding.

The story will start with the Knight arriving in the kingdom to collect the Lord's daughter. I will be playing the Knight, and Digital Muse will be the daughter.

Alright Muse, I'll come up with the details of the kingdom we're going to, which will be where my character is from, and you're in charge of the kingdom you're from. Post the kingdom's name and a brief description in your character sheet. The land in between will be your typical medieval country landscaping. Woods, then a small town, then more woods, so on so forth until we arrive at the other kingdom. I'm thinking the journey will be a week's travel time. The basic character sheet will do, and you can post a picture if desired, but it's not required. A physical description will do.

Name: Lorelle D’Armitage, daughter to Lord Jeorge D’Armitage, the kings arbiter.
Age: 16
Appearance: A delicate girl with fair skin and soft gray eyes. Her long hair is the color of ripened wheat and is worn in a crown of braids about her head tied with gold and silver threads. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and slightly built. Lorelle wears a white chemise with tight long sleeves beneath a heavy, dark blue armless surcoat with fox trim at the neck, arm holes and hem. Low on her hip, is a studded leather belt from which hangs a gold crucifix given to her by her Mother. For travel, she also wears a heavy, fur-lined cloak with a deep hood that ends in a liripipe. On her feet, she wears well-made leather boots for traveling.

Bio Lorelle was raised by an indulgent Father and a Mother who was more wraith than Mother. She was always sick and spent her time in her rooms while Lorelle and her siblings grew up in the care of several servants. Lorelle is a sweet, curious girl. She was taught all the graces a girl of her station should know; singing, poetry, fine needle work and keeping a home. Her father also taught Lorelle to read and write, something unheard of for the time. As was too often the case, disease took her mother followed quickly by 3 of her 8 siblings when Lorelle was only 8 years old. It seemed a curse had fallen on her house.
Eventually, the pall of the disease was lifted from the country and a grieving father tried to rebuild his life. He married again and sired 4 more children. His wealth grew and he began looking to expand his holdings to provide for his 7 sons. Lorelle was one way to do just that. After months of negotiation, Lorelle was betrothed to the neighboring kingdom’s heir as a way to strengthen the bonds between the two wealthy landowners.

When told to of the arrangement, Lorelle cried the night through. However, she knew her place and her duty. She’d always known this was to be her fate. Being a proud girl, she dutifully packed her things while her father arranged her dowry. It saddened her to leave the only home she’d ever known and she knew she’d likely never see it again. But, she was a good noble woman. And she would do as her father had asked.

Land of Origin Tratoix. A land surrounded on three sides by high mountains, with only a narrow pass following the main valley that allows access to the outside world. In this protected shelter the short, mountainous summers provide rich farmlands, if short growing seasons. Livestock is raised in abundance and a fine ale makes the land famous. The land had been granted to Lorelle’s ancestors several centuries earlier by the king for services in a long-forgotten war with a foreign enemy.

Name: Sir William Sal'Hara, only son of Sir Aragis Sal'Hara The Great.
Age: 19

Appearance: William is a tall man with a muscular frame. His hair is a dark brown. His face is handsome and chistled, much like the rest of his body. His skin is tanned from his time spent outdoors, his hands rough and calloused from wearing thick leather gloves and training with this sword. He wears a leather tunic and trousers, over top of which is a shirt of chain mail and a light metal chest plate and shoulder armor. His arms are also lightly armored by thin metal arm guards. He wears thick leather gloves on his hands and grieves made of the finest quality leather and metal used for both traveling and battle. Around his waist is a high quality metal belt upon which his sheath hangs, containing his blade. He also carries a bow with a quiver of arrows, and wears a thick travel cloak.

Bio: Sir William, or Will as he is called by his family and friends, is the only son of Sir Aragis Sal'Hara, the brave knight who led a small group of knights to victory when defending his homeland from the attack of a ruthless group of bandits and pillagers led by Frudric the Merciless. Upon William's birth he was destined to be a brave and loyal knight just like his father, and his training began once he was old enough to hold a sword. He adored and admired his father, who taught his son everything he knew about Knighthood. Will quickly became one of Lord Dalmus' most trusted Knights, and was always selected for quests of utmost importance in the kingdom. His father would occasionally accompany him on these missions, until age got the better of him and his body became too weary to travel.

Outside of his duties, Will was very popular amongst the townsfolk. He has many friends, and frequents The Harvest's End tavern on the outskirts of the kingdom. His kindness and loyalty are rivaled only by that of his father's.

William's latest assignment is said to be of the greatest importance to the kingdom, thus is the reason he was selected for it. A neighboring kingdom is suffering from the effects of a terrible plague, and their Lord has agreed for his daughter to marry the eldest son of Lord Dalmus. This marriage will open trade for livestock between the two kingdoms, as well as expand Lord Dalmus' influence of the surrounding lands. Sword in hand, Sir William mounts his steed and sets off on the trail to the kingdom of Tratoix.

Land of Origin: The Kingdom of Dalmuscus. It is a wealthy kingdom known for its fine fabrics and jewelry, as well as its strong iron forged weapons and armor. The kingdom's wealth lies mostly in these items, and relies on trade to neighboring kingdoms for livestock and harvested goods. The kingdom's surrounding forests attract hunters from all lands, where they test their skills against wild game such as deer and boars.
