Anyway me brain can only 'andle so much a' a toime; oI'm buggered enough as it is wifou' any mohre bollocks clangin abou' up there. Yeah, sod the rools; oI'll stop before oI start chunnerin under me breaf.

Roight, so 'ere she goes. Le's announce the winnas! 'Ooo's the winnaa?! Lessee...

Crea'ive chap wif awll the roight stuff, is he. Chyaalie wins, 'ands down!

Neh-no, i's awllroi', no need fu ra standin uvation. oI'm 'umbled.

Moovin roi' along:

An amazin poet whoose wondrus talen' knows no bounds. Chaahley 'as touched thee 'ahrts ov everyone 'ere at FOG and deserves the esteem ov this ellustrous toi'le!

Aww ya see? Really, ye lot 're jus' too koind! Now oI've gone awll broight red! (or oI would 'ave any'ow, 'f oI still 'ad me face....)

Wai' a moment... oI'm ge''in a messige....

Ooh... Lissen up, you lot! It seems the bobby blokes 'aven't approved ov me li''le jest. Quoi'e upset the stahff is--meanin them Mods--thinkin oI'm blaggin me way tryin to move up in the wewld. oI best be on be''eh behaviou ror else oI'll gummy up the 'ole mess. Best if oI not give 'em any cheek abou' it, neither. Sorry then, sorry everyone. Troof is oI've not won anithin-uh-tawll. Foggy mascut, lovable Ghost wiffa Most, gets nuffin fer awll 'is 'ard weuhrk. Wha' stahr'ed as a fred to display some niftey images of a dilapida'ed old 'ouse wif an apploied ahr'istic touch evenchly brahnched into a pohr'folio fur Ryona's other venchuhs into the ahr'istic realm. An in'restin accoun' of a trainin seminah 'eld fur the nation of An'ahrtica, in a wewld seeminly parallel to ou rown Earf. This accoun' begins to teull the 'istry of 'ow the new nation of An'ahrtica was fohmed and 'ow things progressed wiffin its boundries from there. A very intriguin piece, laced wif politics whoile maintainin an excoi'in air of infini'e possibili'ies. This piece wos a shoe-in fur the monfly feetchuh in Wroi'in an' Junnalism.

ROLE-PLAYIN!
KAHLON OHDEWNA Oi-Oi.... oI mean, THE SECOND: "Sephuris: The Proice ov Peace"
A role-play tha' mohre than deserves i's place amongs' the monfly feetchuhs. Kahlon Ohdewna Oi--oI mean--the Second's "Sephuris: The Proice ov Peace" is a wewld in the makin, constan'ly expandin an' bein elabra'ed upon no' ewnly by the wewld's crea'ohr, bu' by the playehs pah'icipa'in in i's evolution! Everythin from the jyography to the languages and customs of the people 'oo inhabit the realms ahre becomin mohre distinc' as the role-play progresses. I had to read it a couple times, myself. Laughing I do British accents with my family all the time, though, so it wasn't too difficult to decipher. I suppose the trick is to get into the frame of mind and try to think in the accent as you're reading it. *shrug*

I have no idea what charlie meant about me having nous, though....
*looks up "nous"*
Wikipedia wrote:Nous is a philosophical term for mind or intellect. Outside of a philosophical context, it is used, in English, to denote "common sense," with a different pronunciation.
Oooh, nice! Thanks, Charlie!! xD

Yaaaaaay for Sephiris! xDDDD
Thanks to all the Sephiris players who helped earn the win!! It'd be nothing without you! Roses

Congratulations everybody!! cheers
*goes to check out all the winning threads*

Congrats everyone!

Just kind of wondering, is there any way to find out all the old monthly feature winners without looking at the individual topics? Maybe we could start a continually updated topic with links to all the works/topics that have won a monthly feature? Just a random thought.

Whoa

That took me about 10 minutes to read properly, but I'm glad I persisted!

Thanks Charlie and thank-you everyone else! I'd attempt to say something witty in a British accent but I think we'd all be better off if I didn't.

This is a wonderful early Birthday present! Dance

Congratulations to everyone else who was featured this month too!

That was incredibly difficult to read, so I skipped a lot of it to just see the winners.

Congratulations to everyone who was mentioned this month! ^^_^^

It's too bad the admins aren't around to change your rank to the MotM rank, Immortal, but we'll still know it's you. =3

We're thinking up something special for Immortal. Smile

Also, maybe I'll translate what Charlie said for everybody. Might take a while, though. xD I'll just edit this post if no one posts before I'm done.

Edit:
There we go. Finally done! xD
I've put asterisks* by words that are probably British idioms.

Translation:

Good day, Foggers! Feeling grand, the lot of you, I hope? Jolly, and that? You there in the corner, you bloody looks like you've seen a ghost!

[chuckles]

Well I won't be wasting time poncing around here and there with my divvy* jokes, and that. What I'm really here to do is fill her in for my pretty lady Fate. Right pretty and deserving as she is--like me mum, I don't mind saying--I just had to help. With her (meaning Fate) away about a sad business with Axiom, the bobby* Mods have got their hands full with taking care of things, so I've been asked to do with some of the hellping around. Lend all of you a helping hand, wot? So I has just got off of the island of Caligo a little bit ago to do just that, yes? Bit of compère*-ing for some official Foggy hullabaloo. Right champion that is, if I do say so myself. Very gentlemanly of me, I says.

So I've been put in charge of announcing this month's Monthly Features, and Cor blimey*! but have we got a treat for all the little boys and girls, all you grand Foggers! Exception bit of treats, that is. Perfectly grand. And right chuffed I am about it! Happy as a clam, is me.

Now I'm supposed to go on and on about wherefores and who-by's, with explaining how all this Monthly Features goes, and that. But... load of absolute tosh*, you ask me. Anyway my brain can only handle so much at a time; I'm buggered* enough as it is without any more bollocks* clanging about up there. Yeah, sod* the rules; I'll sop before I start chunnering* under my breath.

Right, so here she goes. Let's announce the winners! Who's the winner?! Let's see...
For Art and Design category: Charlie the Ghost!!
Creative chap with all the right stuff, is he. Charlie wins, hands down!

No-no, it's alright, no need for a standing ovation. I'm humbled.

Moving right along:
Next category--Writing and Journalism: ...Chaaaaarlie the Ghost!!
An amazing poet whose wondrous talent knows no bounds. Charlie has touched the hearts of everyone here at FOG and deserves the esteem of this illustrious title!

Aww you see? Really, you lot are just too kind! Now I've gone all bright red! (or I would have anyhow, if I still had my face....)

Wait a moment... I'm getting a messaga....
... ...

Ooh... Listen up, you lot! It seems the bobby* blokes haven't approved of my little jest. Quite upset the staff is--meaning them Mods--thinking I'm blagging* my way trying to move up in the world. I best be on better behavior or else I'll gummy up the whole mess. Best if I not give them any cheek* about it, neither. Sorry then, sorry everyone. Truth is I've not won anything-at-all. Foggy mascot, lovable Ghost with the Most, gets nothing for all his hard work. Poor old charlie.

It's alright, I'll get on to the real winners. Get ready to hear me announce the real winners!! Here they come!
Monthly Features for January 2010

ART AND DESIGN!
Who's the winner? RYONA NOEL: "Haunted House Fun"
What started as a thread to display some nifty images of a dilapidated old house with an applied artistic touch eventually branched into a portfolio for Ryona's other ventures into the artistic realm. From photo manipulation to forum signature and avatar sets to custom world maps, she has dabbled into numerous categories, earning her the monthly feature for Art and Design!

Smashing bit of work, Ryona Noel!! Keep at it and become a splendid photo girl!
Next category....?

WRITING AND JOURNALISM
Who's the winner? DJ AGENDA: "Triarch, A History"
An interesting account of a training seminar held for the nation of Antarctica, in a world seemingly parallel to our own Earth. Triarch, formerly a banking company, has established a series of colonies in the desolate frozen wasteland of Antarctica using advanced technology to provide habitable climates within isolated domes. This account begins to tell the history of how the new nation of Antarctica was formed and how things progressed within its boundaries from there. A very intriguing piece, laced with politics while maintaining an exciting air of infinite possibilities. This piece was a shoe-in for the monthly feature in Writing and Journalism.

Well done, DJ Agenda! I'd clap my hands, but it wouldn't be very loud. Bang-up job you did--simply peachy!
Now let's see again.... Next category? ...

ROLE-PLAYING
KALON ORDONA II: "Sephiris: The Price of Peace"
A role-play that more than deserves its place amongst the monthly features. Kalon Ordona I--I mean--the Second's "Sephiris: The Price of Peace" is a world in the making, constantly expanding and being elaborated upon not only by the world's creator, but by the players participating in its evolution! Everything from the geography to the languages and customs of the people who inhabit the realms are becoming more distinct as the role-play progresses. Sephiris is a shining jewel among the role-plays here on FOG, and serves as an excellent example of what we hope to see more of throughout the life of these forums.

Now here's a fellow with some nous*! Jolly bleeding smashing, Kalon Ordona the Second! I'd hand you a tenner*, but I haven't any dosh*.
And now, the last category??..............

MEMBER OF THE MONTH!
Member of the month for January is.... IMMORTAL-SIN!!!
Having been a member of the boards for quite some time, Immortal has contributed a great deal to the variety of threads here at Footsteps of Ghosts. Greeting members, chatting about in the General forums, posting original works of literature and, most importantly, showing great skill in the field of Role-play; she is definitely a valuable member of our community, and deserves some time in the spotlight for all the contributions she has made. thank you, ImmortalSin, for bringing so much to the community here at FOG.

Crikey... I'm getting all teary-eyed, and that's no sarky*. You're the greatest, ImmortalSin! Brilliant!! Huzzah for you, love!

And that's it! Congratulations, all the winners!!

Well, I won't witter* on. Love to the Foggy lot of you, and that!
And tell all of your friends, Charlie says BOO!!

I think we had Janyary there because that's how Charlie said it. Sort-of keeping with the fact that Charlie hosted this one.

As for the special thing for Immortal, we still haven't decided yet. We'll come up with something great, though! xD

It won't be January forever. Giggle

Ahh, that makes sense about the title though. I was wondering whether it might have been due to Charlie's accent, but I'm no expert on that matter so I decided not to assume so, hehe.

Not having the MotM rank doesn't bother me too much. I know that I am MotM, and the majority of Foggers do as well so that's pretty good I think. Aww
