Name: Ellis Holl

Alias: Ezrah the Black

Bio: Ellis Holl was born and raised on Osiris. Not all the planet was wealthy, and not all the politicians of the Alliance were incorruptible. Ellis’s father Jack Holl created his own wealth, usually through black marketing and other illicit activities. However, he did this on behalf of the Alliance more often than not, under one Parliament member, Dillian Swole. Once Jack had made enough money, he retired to Osiris and became a trade factor. The house was located in the ‘slums’ of Osiris, only determined by having less than the have-alls. Still, it has its share of immature gangs, and occasional professional black marketers.

Despite the luxury that Jack retired to, his house did not have much. It did have enough to train his boy to fight properly, all low blows and treachery. The father delighted in his boy’s brain, easily one of the smartest people of his generation. Jack doted on his boy in his own way, pushing him as far as he could while keeping him close. It was a good move, and Jack used the last of his favors to keep his son out of the Alliance’s test run for special children.

Instead, Jack trained his boy to be an engineer and learn whatever he could. This included a deep knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology. He was recruited out of college to work on several special projects, of which he will not talk about. The last, and greatest, involved the Reavers. While not responsible for their creation, he was in communication with some that did. After the Miranda incident, the aging Parliamentary member spent his last political capital in the research on the Reavers themselves. This also yielded some uncomfortable results, and he was buried along with all reports of the projects.

Ellis was smart enough to see the snake in the grass, and destroyed all of his research, including possible weaponized versions of the some Reaver brain chemistry changes. He changed his name, took the last of his dead father’s fortune, and disappeared. Ezrah the Black is his current alias, as a semi-famous architect, and is waiting for a ship to pay, or smuggle his way onto to get off Jiangyin. With the broadcast of Miranda, the old reports for Parliament have undoubtedly been dug up, and they will want to find him, again.
