Make Me a Set-Up?

Sooo… I’m pretty much a failure with creating awesome set-ups, and I know there are several awesome artists here on the board. I don’t really want to ask just one because I like having a lot of choices from which to choose.

I am requesting an avatar and a signature be made for me.

I love to give people as much creative freedom with these things as possible, but I do have some things I want specifically.

1. I need a border around the avatar and around the signature. It can be any kind of border as long as it works well with the set-up. Matching borders are what I want, too.

2. This is going to be based around my waterbending character Nizhoni, but I don’t want her name anywhere in it. Text isn’t really necessary anywhere in the images, either. It’s not to be completely ruled out, but it may be easier to go without it.

3. I want the avatar to be no bigger than 150x200, but it can be smaller. I’m not sure if a width of 200 pixels would drag it off the page, but if it would, make it smaller. Likewise, the signature should be no bigger than 500x190. I don’t want it to stretch off the page, and I don’t want it to be too thick. I do want it to be wider than it is tall.

4. I definitely want my avatar to be of this image: http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs37/i/2008/264/2/2/The_Waterbender____by_Avatarded99.jpg. I don’t want it to be blurry, though. If you have to crop it, that’s okay. You’ll definitely need to resize it, so try to keep it as clear as you can.

5. I definitely want the signature to revolve around the art of waterbending. I found some cool images on DeviantArt that you guys may use to make the signature. In the following images, I only want the waterbending itself to be a part of the signature. You guys can totally find other images to fit this, though.

In none of these images do I want the face to be shown because they’re mostly of Katara, and I want it to see more like Nizhoni is the one bending the water in the images. Hands and arms and boots and legs are fine to have in the images, but the full body and the face aren’t.

You guys are welcome to use other images for the signature, too. These are just the ones I was able to find with my super slow Dial-Up Internet.

I'll get started on something for you tomorrow when I can to see if you like it. ^^ I like all the images you found!

Harumph. My phototoshop skillz are probably something to be desired. I think I'll be able to re-size the avi. I'll give the sig a shot oo, though my talent lies with using bland rendering techniques. >.<

EDIT: After working with the avi, the original is too large for a plain jane resizing. What I could do it crop it a bit, which would make it less blurry, or I could try and clean it up using visual techie stuff. (Which is suck at). I'll try both, see what you think. if you like it, then I'll work on a sig.

EDIT EDIT: Here's what I've come up with so far. Tell me if you like anything, and what can be improved to your liking. (I suggest you wait for Fate to show off her wares. I'm pretty new at this.)










My last one is an attempt at my own border, I have no idea how it will look against the blacker page. We'll see.

The first avatar is my favorite, as it has the most clarity.

I'm kind of eh... about the signature. It doesn't have a border. I'm not sure about the text ((though the font works well)) and it's pretty pixely around the endges of the hand. The rendering is interesting, though.

Okay, you're knowledge of phototoshop rivals mine., What did you do to it? I must know!

I just altered the colors of the avatar so that it matched the colors of the signature better. Nothing too complicated!

Altered how. >.> It looks a lot brighter, and a little greener. I have no idea how to make a widespread change like that, and make it not look like crap. >.>

So, I guess my question is, was it a rendering technique, or did you do most of it by hand?

Well, you can go to Image --> Adjustments, and then mess around with all types of things there, like Hue and Selective Color and the Levels and such. It really just depends on what you'd like to do with it.

Fate, I love both of those a lot. I have a question, though. You're really good at altering colours. Is it possible to make the beads in her hair like... not there or very unnoticeable?? I didn't even notice them- which is part of the reason I chose her to be my character's visual appearance- until I saw that. Also, is it possible to darken the hair of the one in the siggy?

I really hate to be nit-picky, but I can't help it. XD It's my nature.

Oh that's absolutely perfect now.

Oh! If this idea is impossible, then don't worry about it, but along with making her hair more like the colour of the avatar's hair, would it be possible to make her skin a similar shade, too? Don't worry about this one as much as the hair, though. The skin's not as important.
