Uh..

Not sure where to put this, but I figured this was the best place to put it...

Okay, I was just in the Chat room and decided to register my nick, so what do I try and do? I copy past this:
/msg NickServ REGISTER 'password' 'youremail@email.com'

Directly into the message part, get rid of the password and youremail@email.com

Then I proceed to put in my password and email.

so then it looked like this:

/msg NickSev REGISTER Mypassword Myemail

then, I press enter, and what happens? It goes right into the chat window.

So...for some reason, this didn't work for me, just thought I should let all of you know this.

If this is in the wrong place, or should of been sent as a PM to Fate, well..sorry But now I feel stupid, because anyone in the chat right now, 4 people, saw the password and could use it for god knows what.

Alright...mostly everything seems okay, I changed the password on this site and FOG right after I realized what happened.

I don't think I changed my hotmail password though

I say mostly because I can't get into Role Play Gateway, but, eh, I'm sorting that out with the creator right now.

EDIT: I think I know what went wrong...you see, I directly copied and pasted it, so it was actually like this:

/msg NickSev REGISTER Mypassword Myemail

With an actual space above it...I must of accidentally copied the space above it, then copy and pasted it in.

No, it should've worked like that. In another IRC chat it worked exactly how you had it. So, there's really no reason for you to have had the problem. In my opinion, I think the reason it doesn't work like that is because it's a different kind of IRC. At least as far as I know, because when I try to get on it through mIRC or Chatzilla, it no work.

Odd...I tried it again about 30 minutes ago, albeit under a default name, I put something like:

/msg NickServ REGISTER AAAAA whocares@gmail.com

Said that my password was too easy to guess

That time I didn't paste it in either...

Well, I just did it and it totally worked for me. D:

this is very odd...I suppose I can wait for onenitedrive to show up though so it can be figured out.

Hey, Ragter. I'm very sorry you had to go through all of that with your password. I just tested the command and it works just fine. If you're typing in the chat exactly what you said in your post, the problem is that the command is to NickServ (not NickSev) - there is an 'R' in there. Again I'm sorry for the trouble, I hope that this helps.

Huh...I'm pretty sure that it was the first part that I copy and pasted, not the second with the misspelling though...

Who knows, it could have been the second, all you'd have to do to make sure though is check the IRC thread or whatever it's called, because like I said, I copied it right from there.

Maybe we'll never know what went wrong x-x things seem to be back to normal though, as of today, I can long into RP Gateway again. You guys have earned my trust the most though, mostly because nothing happened at all. Takes a good person to not hijack an account when they have the chance.

That's good. I'm glad things are back to the way they should be. I'm also happy that no one did anything with your password.

Oh, but just in case, for the future, here's a way to test if it works:
/msg NickServ REGISTER 'password' 'youremail@email.com'

For your password and e-mail, just type in password (or some other random word), and see if it registers. That's how onenitedrive tested it.

Huh...odd, I just did the same exact thing as yesterday and it actually let me register as Ragter...

hm, okay then, I suppose you can do..whatever with this thread now that the problem is over.
