The Imperiatical Society

The year was 750 CE when a rift in reality mysteriously appeared and the forces of darkness began to pour out. The human forces, despite banding together, did not stand a chance against their Demonic foes. Just as the human forces were about to lose hope a group, now known as the Imperiatical Society, appeared before the council of Human Kings. The Society offered the Humans a deal; they would defeat the demons, and push them back from whence they came. In return, the humans would have to stop all persecution of anyone considered "magical". The humans desperate to survive agreed to the contract and put all of their remaining forces at the disposal of the Society. The humans, now imbued with magic, and the society members clashed for days with the demonic legions threatening to destroy their lands. Finally, they were able to push the demons back through the portal and seal it. Known the seal was only temporary a special sub-group inside the Imperiatical Society, known as "The Tinkerers" built a massive magically imbued wall to keep the forces of darkness from invading the Human Realm again. The wall has been standing, silently guarding, every since that fateful day. Highly trained members of the Society police the wall day and night, just in case any creature slips through the portal and needs to be put back in its place. Since the finial battle and the construction of the wall, new defenders were always needed. Because of this a University was formed not far from the wall. Inside this University, magic users teach others the inner workings of their powers and how they will one day become the protectors of the wall. The members of the Imperiatical Society continue to guard the wall day in and day out, even as evil seems to once again be on the rise.


Well I hope that was a catchy introduction for everyone. I have tried to setup this RP on a few other boards but always seems to have failed because of lack on interest. What I am looking for here is to setup a kind of school-esk magic RP that will eventually lead to leaving the school and having adventures past the wall... etc.

What I had planned to start off, since I have no idea how many people will join, is setting up a system of quotas. There will be 4 Spots for "Teachers" who have a power level of "10". There will be 5 spots for "Senior Students" who have a power level of "7". Then there will be unlimited spots for "Younger Students" who have power levels "6" and below.

I've also created a bit of a guide concerning powers. Website with Powers and Explanations The way the powers will work is that you will pick a given set and be able to progress through that set. If you are level 10 you obviously have all of your powers at your will. If you are seven you only have up to seven etc.

Name: Iosephos
Age: 132
Appearance:
Weaponry: A long sword imbued with dark energy which, when hit by it causes severe pain. Two small daggers of the same type.
Magical Type: Dark Power
History: Born to normal humans, they knew from an early age that something was strange about their son. Things would explode at the slightest touch and objects would mysteriously move across the room. One day a man who was traveling through the town noticed a young boy who was moving his toy blocks around with nothing but his mind. The wanderer offered the parents of the child to train him so that he would be able to control these magnificent powers. A week after the boy had left the town the authorities killed his parents as they believed that they were all witches/warlocks in the family. Having escaped death the wanderer and his apprentice began their training. After many long years the wanderer felt the boy turned man was ready to be tested. However, before that could happen the Imperiatical Society called out for all magical beings to help the Humans in fighting off the Demonic Hordes. Both the wanderer and his apprentice joined the fight. While defending a group of humans on the battle field the wanderer was cut down. Unable to do anything to save him or the humans, Iosephos began mumbling incoherently at first. Eventually, causing a massive wave that rushed through many lines of the enemy troops that were charging, instantly knocking them out. Later, after the war. Iosephos was selected as one of the few people who were going to be teachers at the new University. However, at first he declined the position as he feared he was still to unnerved by previous events to teach. However, after being perused for sometime he agreed to join.

Weaponry: Despite her body, Abigale cares a set of dual swords, each blade is about 2 feet in length, and 2 inches in width. The hilts are made specially for her grip. Aside from that, everything else, is what she wants it to be.
Magical Type: Shape Shifter
History: Abigale was orphaned when she was nothing more then an infant. She grew up with many other children, all with different lives, and different reasons as to being where they are. As Abigale aged, she seemed to be able to mold objects to her will. Over the years she improved, making noticeable changes. When whispers of her ability spread, the University came to her. And took her in. She excelled in Shape shifting, accomplishing tasks quickly and efficiently. Now, she is the head Shape shifting teacher of the University.
