Suggestion.

Now I'm not sure how much work you continue to put into EthereaLights, but I still think it could be great.

I think the problem is it just never picked up.

So my suggestion, and mind you it's just a suggestion, make it part of FOG?

I mean, not that I want you to continuously copy S*T, but it seems like such a shame to put all that work into that site and it not receive any attention. You can make it branch out maybe, or just make it one of those continuous worlds.

It's another site Fate made a while ago. Kind of like a one track world thingy. XD I forget what they are called though.

That's actually a really cool idea, Hope!! I like that a lot. I think that is really something that I could consider doing. Maybe it could be a branch off of FOG, but still have its own message board (which it does right now, obviously), sort of like how Allos Thesi got to be on S*T. I'll have to think some more on it. But yeah, thanks for thinking of that, because that honestly hadn't occurred to me.

Persistent worlds take a lot of time and effort to get going and keep running. You may need a separate staff apart from FOG in order to run it once it starts getting more attention. I'd be happy to help you out once my schedule frees up some and I get V2 rolling along the way (which won't be until the end of summer).

Yeah, the staff would have to be separate - that's true. It's not like a persistent world though, actually. The world for RPing isn't like connected. It just is centered around this universe I created. In other words, it's like based around just one thing, like a Harry Potter board would be based around just Harry Potter, but it isn't continuous.

Well here is a simple way of doing this.

Just create a re-direction forum that links members to EL when it is clicked and place it somewhere near the top of the board for everyone to see!

Or is there any way to add another sub-forum to the IC branch? If you could put it in there, then it could be watched by the IC and Globals mods. Or, kinda like rouge said earlier: I'm all up for helping with it, and my schedule is a little more easy to work with than his.

It is just that EL has extensive amounts of information and its own forums, skin and style give it a life of its own.

Merging it with this would only kill that spirit.

Or that is what I think, at least.

I really don't have the control or power to create a forum that redirects somewhere else, unfortunately (though that probably would have been what I would have liked to do, to lead you to the EthereaLights message board).

I can tell you now though, that I have no intention of making a forum here for EL, since it already has its own board with its own members and topics and whatnot. I could possibly create a link at the top for it though. I'll have to work on something soon and figure something out.

Uhm, you should have the power. It should all be in your admin control panel.

If you're unsure how to make one I would be happy to do it for you, although I would require temporary admin status to do it.

Hmmm... I know phpBB will allow you to do stuff like that, but I've not come across an option like that with Forumotion.

Look, here is a sreenshot of all the options I get when creating a new forum. There's nothing there for linking the forum off-site. If you know how to do it Tempest, would you mind explaining it? (The dropdown for 'Choose the kind of forum you want' just has the options of 'Category' or 'Forum.')

Oh, a very different set out there. From that I can't decipher much but I'll tell you what I am going to do. I'm going to quickly set myself up a forum using this service and take a poke around to se if I can find out how to do it for you.

Oh, alright. If that's all you're going to try and do with the forum, then it should take you much time. Forumotion has a lot of really awesome features, and it's really simple and pretty and nice to work with, but something that onenitedrive doesn't like about it, is that it's not too customizable. So, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a way. I could also just ask on their help forum at http://help.forumotion.com/forum.htm
