I N T E R N:

A Medical Intern is the term used for a physicial in training, someone who has completed medical school but can't practice medicine unsupervised. Seeing as how they are all typically broke from Med School they do tend to live together, so this is something that is a perfectly fine idea for some plot ideas once we have out characters situated.

R E S I D E N T:

A Resident Physician is a person who has recieved their medical degree and practices medicine under the supervision of fully licensed doctors (higher in the chain of command than themselves). Residency follows internship.

A T T E N D I N G:

An Attending Physician is a physician who has completed residency and internship and practices with all of their licenses up to date. They supervise themselves, their fellow attendings, residents, and all medical students. In academic terms, their title would be, "Professor". Attending physicians have final responsibility, legally and otherwise, for patient care, even when many of the minute-to-minute decisions are being made by subordinates (physician assistants, resident physicians, and medical students).

C H I E F O F S T A F F:

The Chief of Staff, also known as the Medical Director, is responsible for all and any mistakes that those under them might make. They are also responsible for the diagnosing of certain procedures and medications that are otherwise considered moderately high risked in terms of the patients health. Their word is law in the field, regardless of whether or not it's right or wrong.

As a child, she always fought back, until she wizened up to learn that fighting for what she believed in in front of others was what would get her in trouble... Until she could do something about it. One day, the three Iraqi children tried to run away to an American base three miles south of Majnun. Her father captured her youngest sister, and her older brother caught her, and her youngest brother Ehsan disappeared into the horizon as her and her sister were beaten for their defiance. Later in that night, the two tried again, except this time, Elidari feared punishment too much to flee. So Rayahn, determined to find her little brother, fled. Once more her elder brother came after her, this time carrying his M16 so that when he got her, he could put the family troublemaker down. But the race ensued, and Rayahn made it to the American camp, where upon seeing her brother Ishmael carrying a weapon, they shot him down. Rayahn was then nicknamed "Ryan" and taken into the care of an Army baseman named David Long...
David became her best friend and a new brother to her, and yet he always reminded her of Ehsan by his playful ways. She asked if they had seen her little brother, but none had heard of it. She simply thought he had lived, and gotten away to be happy. At seventeen, Ryan filed for her ability to go to America, and become a citizen. She wanted to go home and be adopted by David. And by eighteen, it was done. She moved to Texas, where everyone was far different from her own family. Things were nice, humid, and the people were pale. A lot of criticism came to David and her, but it didn't bring her down. As soon as she settled into the home, she became a full-time student at a local University, picking to become a doctor, one day of Pathology. After her schooling, she'd reinforced her natural stubborn and feisty ways, and had found herself with her first American job. She doesn't like to talk about her past, her siblings, and has gained a strange nickname "Ding Dong" for her odd habit of breaking a Ding Dong in half and eating the creme first, then the cake.

It’s because of his father’s accident that Milo went into medicine, partly to be the bread winner and help his folks back home and partly because he felt like the doctors could have done something more to help his father.
Personality: Milo is the type of man whom you suspect clawed through his mom’s amniotic sac and likely pushed his way out on his own just to get a glimpse of his own reflection. What exactly does this mean? It means that Milo loves himself. . . A lot. This has lead to the man being more of an inconsiderate man-child more than anything, though it’s suspected that it may just be a clever façade to weed out people who lack a good sense of humor. And Eternity, yes. It does. I will begin writing up the IC once I get back from town with my husband. We are having to buy and external hard drive for my computer as I literally have no space on it anymore and it will no longer do the updates that are required for the stupid thing to work.

Personality: Despite her cold manner towards interns and coworkers, her bedside manner is remarkably kind and nonjudgmental, despite the reason the patient may be in the hospital to begin with. There are few people other than patients that she cracks a smile for, and this is rarely in the eye of the public.

Background: James refuses to give any personal information as to how he became a widow, save for informing his employer, Selena Allen. Thus, this leaves people to speculate about what happened, if he was an ax murderer, or if she was a deranged lunatic who killed herself. Either way, during his marriage to Mary, they were blessed with a daughter, Marie, who is probably the only women who has James' heart wrapped around her finger, tiny as it is. Marie is only nine years old, but has very acute knowledge of things; almost as if she's too smart for her own good. When her mother died, it woke Marie up as a young girl to the reality of the world and aged her too quickly out of her innocence, though she can still be spotted playing with her toys and make believe when she thinks her father isn't watching. It's not that James denies her the privilege to play, but Marie has always felt that it was better to act strong and adult-like for her father so that the whole ordeal of losing her mother would be easier since he wouldn't have to entertain her. It pains him, and he's tried explaining it to her before, but to no avail.
Personality: He's not a pervert, but he's a smart ass to everyone but his higher ups and patients. He's not a jerk, and he'll try more often than not just to get that "What a smart ass" smile from just about anyone. Rumors fly that he's a player, or that he has no heart and soul, or that maybe he just sold it to the devil to land him such great talent in neuro-surgery, no one knows. But truth be told, he's got a heart for every patience that passes through his doors.

He is not excited about being an ex-smoker.

He's known for shrugging off people when they ask him about his personal life. The excuse is always, "Not in the work place", "None of yours to know", or the ever famous, "You'd like to be that personal life, wouldn't ya?". People eventually stopped asking him, and instead made up the rumors to speculate, assuming he'd just deny or accept them as they came.

Despite all of this, James is a hard worker, through and through, and that's the only way he went from who he was to who he is in the hospital. No cheating, no stealing, no lies.

Background: Ash grew up on a large ranch in East Texas. His father raised Angus Beef there. He grew up riding horses around the ranch, hunting, fishing, and learning how to live outdoors with very little supply. In short, he learned to be a cowboy in the modern world. Yet, Ash always wanted to help people by becoming a doctor. Though he was a bit of a trouble maker in school he always had exellent grades and continued this trend all through his college years at the University of Texas. Ash's parents did not get to see him graduate college. They were killed a week before on their way home from visiting him three weeks before by a drunk driver in Austin. His older brother Donald R. Burns inherited the ranch and Ash left to find an intern position to put his medical degree to use and to hopefully achieve his dream of being a fully fledged doctor.
Personality: Likes to have fun but knows how to be serious when need be. Very personable and loves children. Ash is one that tries to make light of any situation and look for the silver lining of every cloud. When not at work one could generally find him in the local country bar either drinking alone or spinning someone around a dance floor. Can be very short-tempered at times. Just dont mess with his truck, dog, or God forbid his hat, and no one will get hurt. Other than that he appears to be a simple southern country boy and is very cordial with everyone.

Sucky part is... The hospital isn't open until 6am. Legally, they cannot accept her. Alll they can do is call an ambulance and take her to the nearest hospital elsewise.. There is not even staff to admit her (nurses, admins, etc).

I can see how she made it through the doors, since they were unlocked for the staff to enter, but all anyone would be able to do is try and help Jaymie (sp) catch her and call an ambulance.. =/ The hospital doesn't open for another hour.
