Desdemona- Of The Devil [OOC] {Open/Accepting}

In a world of complete fantasy, a world where monarchs man their castles and men on horseback flail around their swords/bows - not their muskets or cannons - the immortals roam. It all began with the first true immortals, the abominations of nature, a kind that should have never been - the first immortal having a strong belief that this was humanities world, not theirs. The Khalid bloodline is where it truly began, more specially Ignacio Khalid, father of one, Remus, and Alucard Khalid, the fuel that sparked a war in which would last for more than a thousand years.

Story/Myth goes that Ignacio was a powerful Hungarian warlord, and when his village succumbed to a strange disease, his body mutated it, making him the first true immortal. In time he bared two children, Remus and Alucard. Remus was bitten by a wolf, and in effect, became the first Lycan; Alucard subsequently was bitten by a bat, and became the first vampire. Luckily Alucard attained a lot of his humanity, but Remus on the other hand became an uncontrollable beast.

With Remus butchering the Hungary countryside, and infecting everyone he sunk his teeth into with the lycanthropy virus, something had to be done. Even though Alucard had much love for his brother, he somewhat came to terms that what used to be his brother was now lost and that somehow, he had to capture Remus; so out of desperation, Alucard turned to a dying warlord, Giovanni, and in return for borrowing his military genius and army, he would make Giovanni and his followers immortal. It was only natural that an already bloodthirsty, dying tyrant accepted the offer only to gain an even more bloodthirsty persona - literally.

A few left out details is that on the day of Alucard's/Remus's birth, their father, Ignacio, was forced to guard a mirror, a mirror in which was said to be the sole gate to the underworld. This mirror was also said to have been given to Ignacio by fallen, Archangel Lucifer himself, with means to bring "hell on Earth". Ignacio being the first true immortal, who better then to watch over it? Lucifer being unable to leave hell himself, he decided it would be good fun to just throw everything up in the air.

After Ignacio obtained the mirror, he smartened up slightly and devoted his entire immortal life to shielding it from the world, but his sons soon ruined that. Now Ignacio refuses to kill his own sons, but then, Ignacio plotted to unfortunately kill Remus, who had become a monster. Alucard outraged, he betrayed his father by taking the mirror and threatening to unleash its power if he was to kill Remus. Ignacio shocked, he soon disappeared afterwards.

Also note that a key was needed to unlock the mirror, a key of unknown shape or origin.

In truth, Ignacio vanished to secretly search for the key, not wanting such power to get in the hands of his sons, or worse.

In 1202 Giovanni lead a charge into a Hungary village, and a brutal fight broke out when the dead rose, changed, and killed. Vampire and lycan alike died, but in the end, Giovanni and other powerful, future council members/elders subdued and injured Remus. Before they could finish the job, Alucard pleaded with Giovanni to spare his brother's life, reminding Giovanni that he already promised to do so. Remus was indeed a monster who needed to be stopped, but that was still not Remus’s fault in Alucard’s opinion, so death would not be an option.

In response, Giovanni locked Remus away on a secluded island, the locations whereabouts only known to Giovanni himself - for the most part, anyone who knew about the island, or helped in its construction were killed off. Giovanni did not want Alucard knowing where his brother was, fearing that in time, Alucard would attempt to unleash Remus.

After that, Alucard vanished, and Giovanni went on with his life ruling the coven. It was believed that Alucard ventured off in search for his brother, or something of the sort - Alucard possibly thinking that he could somehow help his brother. Surely he was not dead though, Alucard’s death meaning the destruction of the entire race he regrettably prospered.

Still in secrecy, the mirror was now left in the hands of Giovanni.

Giovanni ruling over all the vampires, and claiming himself to be the first of their kind, the true supreme power, he lived in a world of chaos. Lycans, who were nothing but mindless beasts, were constantly raiding villages, killing off cattle, and attacking the vampires, which hurt Giovanni greatly, the mongrels being a nuisance - to make matters worse, vampires were unable to stand in the light of day, which made them vulnerable. Because of this, Giovanni tamed/enslaved many lycans, and used them as "day guardians".

In time, Giovanni came across something very odd when a couple of lycans bared a child, who was born human. Why exactly was it odd? Because lycans were unable to take back the shape of humans, being bitten, and permanently changed by the first full-moon. Regrettably Giovanni saw promise in the thing, it being a new, even more useful breed - the lycan having all of its strengths in human form as well as being able to transform by will.

It being Giovanni's personal pet, who was put at a higher standing then slaves, all changed when Giovanni discovered that the lycan - who had come to be known as Aleister - had been having an affair with his daughter, and got her pregnant. Giovanni was enraged by the idea of mixing the species, so he killed his daughter, with Aleister bearing witness.

Breaking free from his shackles, Aleister stole a pendant - which was actually a key to Remus's prison - from the smoldering body of his bride-to-be and escaped with plans of revenge.

Giovanni terrified of the idea that Remus could be unleashed, he turned to the mirror, which later pointed to the paladins - lead by the returning Ignacio Khalid, who had just recently ordered several vampire nobles/council members to be murdered.

While Ignacio was gone, he had somehow managed to acquire the key, and because of that, he used what forces he had to guard it, as well as to hunt lycans and vampires - his forces were known as paladins.

Aleister knew he was no real match for Giovanni, so, in the mean time, he began to dig around for information on Remus with the help of his own forces - for some reason, Aleister was able to control all of the wild, untamed Lycans while still leading another force of those like him - lycans that could change willfully.

Giovanni waged war on Ignacio due to the execution of his council members, and in-between the battle... Alucard returned only to protect an innocent, mortal girl - "love at first sight" causing him to do so.

Now with the lycans off with hopes to find Remus - intentions to stop Giovanni, the vampires destroying the paladins for their treachery, and Alucard trying to save his brother, who will win? The key is already gracing the presence of many; however, they don't even know it's there. If someone is to unite the key, and the mirror, that person will gain enough power to completely wipe out the imposing forces... and more.

Immortal

[LOCKED]
The first immortal was the father of us all, Ignacio Khalid, a Hungarian warlord who succumbed to a disease in which mutated inside of him, making him the first true immortal. His sons were the second to come, Alucard and Remus, who prospered another race of immortals all together. This race is basically much stronger than humans, and are able to live forever - unless killed. An immortal in general - like Ignacio - has no weakness such as silver or sunlight.

Ranks/Classes:

Warlord-
This is the title given to the first immortal, the only untainted one, Ignacio Khalid, leader of the paladins.

Vampire

A race prospered by Alucard Khalid - who changed Giovanni by giving the dying warlord some of his blood - later came in the hands of Giovanni himself, who claimed to be the supreme power of the coven after Alucard's disappearance. Naturally the race is pale-skinned, cold, and heartless, appearing as if they were dead - which they are far from. Their power is almost godly, having enhanced strength, speed, agility, as well as senses. A vampires hearing and smell are by far inhuman, but not matched by the monstrous lycans. Did I mention they were immortal, able to live for as long as they are well... alive? They also have extreme healing abilities. The only way to kill them is direct contact with sunlight, or cutting off their head/burning them.

Ranks/Classes:

Elder-
The longest-living vampires, and usually the ones who have the blood of Alucard running through them - example Giovanni, and Alucard himself.
Noble-
Made up of vampire generals, council members, and of the sort. The important figures who help make all the decisions.
Nave-
These are just your natural-born warriors who know how to do nothing more than follow orders.

Lycan

A race that started with the wild Remus, they are an uncontrollable race, fully turning by the first full-moon. Their humanity is completely stripped, and they are pure animals. With enhanced strength, speed, agility, like vampires, they are a force to be reckoned with. Since they are animals, their senses are much more enhanced then vampires, lycans being master hunters. Again, like vampires, they have extreme healing abilities, and are immortal. The only way to kill them is through cutting their head off, burning them, or, with silver; otherwise, they are like a tank. The first lycan that was able to transform back into a human was Aleister, who has now created a new whole race of lycans all together.

Ranks/Classes:

Day Guardian-
These are slaves to Giovanni with the purpose to protect vampires during the day when they are vulnerable. Like some humans, they are also used as slaves. Not many are left due to most rebelling and escaping.
Untamed-
Wild beasts that roam freely on the outside, killing everything in sight. Most live in large hoards, and it is natural for them to be constantly attacking the vampires.
Rebel-
The lycans who escaped Giovanni, and are lead by Aleister; most of them were changed by Aleister himself, and have somehow obtained Aleister's genetics by being able to change willfully. Aleister is also able to control the untamed.

Human

Sons of Adam and Eve, the world's first, humans these days live to be only around 40-50, especially because of disease, and how the immortals treat them - as slaves, and cattle. Besides natural skill in weaponry, they do not have enhanced strength, speed, or anything else for that matter. For a lycan and vampire, it is rather easy to dispatch them, although with luck, and being a slight bit clever, humans could actually have a fighting chance.

Ranks/Classes:

Slave-
Many humans are slaves to Giovanni, used for construction, and food. Others are forcefully changed into lycans so that they can guard Giovanni, and his followers.
Paladin-
An order that presides under Ignacio Khalid. Their sole job is to protect Ignacio, the key - which they have never seen - and hunt lycans/vampires.
Rebel/Rogue/Civilian-
They are the free ones, the rebels who have yet to be discovered; they are the ones who prefer to create their own factions, taking things into their own hands without being bound by the paladins or vampires.

Rules

*~Follow all the rules of the site. That is a given.
*~No God Modding, Power Playing, Auto Hitting, or any such thing that would give you the upper hand over another player. Unless of course they give you permission.
*~Romance is highly encouraged, but no cybering, and try to keep mature content censored. There are younger players here and we do not wish to scar them forever, not matter how funny it would be.
*~Violence is a given, but do not overdo it please. No overly gory details. A few to give an idea of the scene and a feeling of the moment are fine. But don't go into such detail that people get sick.
*~Cursing is allowed, but do not overuse it.
*~Near and OniIgnasha are the GMs. Listen to them and stay on their good side and everything will be a-OK with you!
*~We reserve the right to add, subtract, or change the rules at any given time. There will be one announcement about it in the OOC on the last page, and if you fail to check the rules and break them, you will get a warning. Three warnings and you and your character will be killed and kicked out of the RP.
*~This is long-term so be active. If you do not post at least once a day you will be reminded and if you do not post within three days, you will be warned. An exception to this rule is if you have let Near or myself, OniIgnasha, know that you will not be on for an extended period of time. You will be put on leave and welcomed back with open arms, and warm cookies! (That last part is a joke. No cookies.)

Personality: Des is a sweet and timid girl, very quiet and often times shy to even look at someone. She is very caring towards the people that she does know and she more time she spends with them, the closer to them she gets. She is unsure of who she really is, having been taken from her parents at an early age. She tries to be protective of the people she loves, but her timid nature and weak body prevent her from doing much to help anyone. She hates other protecting her, yet knows that it is needed if she is to live and is grateful towards people who do help her.
History(One paragraph is fine): Des was taken by Ignacio when she was just a small child, the immortal finding that the girl was not safe where she was with her human parents. She was still very little when he took her, and as time moved on and she grew up he began to think of her as a daughter. For most of her life Ignacio kept her away from the world and kept her safe. But the stirrings of the world forced him to go back to sort out the affairs of his sons, bringing Des with him. To keep her safe he found a new castle and had her room put up in the top most tower.

Personality: A strong willed man, with a large heart and strong love for both of his sons and the human girl named Des. Though he does love his sons, the war that had broken out between the monsters they spawned is a trouble to him. A mess he works hard to clean up.
