And why not! One more way to get to know each other! What screen greets you every day? xD Surely it says something or other about us. ^^

You can even post one whenever your desktop changes! cheers
Here's how to do it:

1) Go to your desktop.

2) At your desktop, move your mouse down to the taskbar or change settings so that it shows. You don't HAVE to do this, but it might be nice to see our taskbars, too. ^^

3) Push the 'Print Scrn' button. There might be another way to take a screenshot, but that's the easiest one.

4) Paste into an imaging program. I use Irfanview, but good ol' MSPaint will work just fine. (just that .bmp files are quite large)

5) Save the image without changing it.

6) Then re-size the image to 640x400 pixels (unless you have a widescreen, in which case you probably know how to figure it out yourself), to display here at FOG. Save this image as well.

7) Upload both images to the internet. I use Imageshack. I think this site uses Servimg. There's also Photobucket, I suppose, or any number of other sites that'll freely allow images to be uploaded.

8 ) Copy the direct links for both images.

9) Post them here, like this:
Code:
[url=insert large image direct link here][img]insert small image direct link here[/img][/url]

10) Write whatever else you like, and then submit the post! cheers

Here's my current desktop. I've had it for a few months now. Click the picture for the full-size version. Wink

In case anyone was wondering, the SCROLL1, -2, -3, -4, and -5 are all from the PC game Lords of the Realm II. SCROLL2.wav is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. heart

This is my most used background. I have a folder that is titled backgrounds and I just set a new wallpaper up from there every once in a while. As for all the clutter, I like it that way, it's easy for me to find everything at least.

Yup widescreen indeed. For some reason Imageshack doesn't feel like going up to 1920x1080 so I had to do something a tad smaller.

I got the collectors edition with some money from my grandma that wasn't going to be used for anything. It is very fun, I've only completed it once so far though. Do you have it?

Your desktop is nice too it reminds me of an album artwork from Fairyland. Actually I'm almost certain they are the same image, minus the wording on the cover and the crappy resolution.

The background picture is a screenshot from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. I grew up watching it and as I became older, I loved it even more. They have great myth references.

Yea, the characters are loosely portraying The Last Supper. There isn't much relation between the charaters shown and the individuals in the actual painting though.

I like to keep my desktop neat and tidy, that's why most of my stuff is hidden away in various folders. Hence the two screenshots, the first is just the desktop; the second - the desktop with my "past time" folder, which contains games (for you game lovers out there! ME 2 FTW Very Happy) and the various RP's I'm in.

Neat desktop wallpapers, everyone!

Until I find a really good Zutara themed wallpaper, here's mine:

I love Windows 7...

{EDIT}
I changed the dock from the bottom of the window to the right side because there was too much negative space on that end. It looks better now, but I'm too lazy to get all of the pictures and such to do this again...

Yep. This one in particular (amongst others), you can donwnload from their site. (here) . The artwork is very good, but the mustic is simply epic...majestic, I have no other words to describe it. Especially for LOTR fans, since many of their songs are about Middle-Earth. Wink

Anyway, back to desktops.

Shouldn't be any surprise here. A clean desktop; a blank slate. I despise clutter, so I even did some registry editing to get rid of the Recycling Bin icon.

The custom theme was designed by a deviantArt user and is publicly available. If you google "Katha Visual", you should find it fairly quickly. You won't be able to implement the theme on Windows XP without a program that allows custom themes, though.

Desktop resolution is 1440 x 900, so I resized the image to make it viewable by most people viewing the thread.

It's been several months, but I love this setup too much to part with it. I feel kind of dorky for it, but...there you have it. Oh, and please ignore the thing jutting out from the left side...It leads to a little panel for handwriting with my tablet. I'm not quite sure how to get rid of it. >_>;

Mm-hm…I have to say, it was really relieving to finally be rid of all those icons packed onto my desktop! Now I’m down to just the few essentials, all arranged in a much more aesthetically pleasing manner. ^^

The L represents my favorite character from the Anime series Death Note. Um…to summarize, the series is about a high school student named Light Yagami, who finds a notebook that can be used to kill people. He decides to use the notebook to “cleanse” the world of evil and starts killing off known criminals. But then a detective (L!) picks up his trail…and the series follows Light’s attempts to evade the authorities, who are led by L.

It’s a really intelligent and exciting story; I highly recommend it! If you like mysteries or thrillers, I'm sure you'd enjoy Death Note.

Kalon - Yes, Death Note is a manga, too; I actually started reading the series first, but finished it by watching the Anime and then going back to read the rest of the manga volumes. xD I'm usually more of a manga person, but in this instance, I might have to say that I enjoyed the Anime and manga equally. The Anime followed the manga quite well, I think!

Loki -
Spoiler:
Kathryn - I really like your setup! I see you're using RocketDock, too...? Very nice. x3

Thanks. ^^_^^ I'm super excited about the upcoming The Last Airbender, and the third season of Avatar: The Last Airbender made Zuko my favorite character. Plus, his promotional poster wallpaper was waaaay cooler looking than any of the others. I'm just glad I can change the colour scheme to match it.

I didn't know it was called RocketDock. It came with the computer, and the computer calls it a port, but I can "dock" it against any of the four sides of the window.

Kathryn - That's really interesting...I had wanted the Mac look on my PC, but my computer didn't come with anything that would enable the Mac-esque launch bar on my desktop, so I had to get a separate program called RocketDock. Now I'm a little curious about what kind of computer you have. >_>;

Kalon - That is really awesome! Green's such a lovely color (my favorite, actually). >w<

Hermes - I agree with Kathryn; you have a pretty cool background. Though I think I shouldn't look at it too long...It might start to creep me out. I'm such a wimp, haha~ >_>
