Lucian's Poems Empty Lucian''s Poems

Post by Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Sat May 23, 2009 3:18 am

So I know that I kind of put up a 'tough guy' front (so I've been told, anyways.) But I'd like to take advantage of this section and post some of my poetry here. I appreciate criticism, but if you don't have anything nice to say about my work, please keep your comments to yourselves because frankly, if you don't like it, don't read it. I'll start this off by posting one of my older poems then one that I wrote not too long ago for my creative writing class.

Life

What is life?

Is it the mere process of being born then passing away?

Is it diffrent from person to person?

Ask yourself.

What is life... to you?

Is it spending time with those you love?

Is it good times, and good times to come?

Show yourself.

Show yourself life is more than breathing.

Show yourself life is more than your heart beating.

Show yourself life is more than waking up every day, just to go to sleep with the fall of night.

As for myself.

Life is about what's on the horizon.

Looking forward to every sun rise.

Every sun set.

Every phase of the moon that illuminates the night sky.

Laugh with me.

Love with me.

Live... with me.

This next poem I wrote based on the famous painting 'The Last Supper' by Leonardo Da Vinci. In order to get the full effect of the poem I'd suggest looking at the painting before reading it in order to get in the same mind set I was in when I wrote it. I'll provide you with a little link here.

One Last Meal

Gather round my friends!
And let us rest our feet
Here they bring the bread
Even a bit of meat

The time has come my friends!
For us to sit and think
On all the deeds we’ve done
And what we’re still to face

For you see my friends
Our fun is coming to an end
Tomorrow I will pay the price
For a thousand years of sin

All my life I’ve wandered
And spread the word of my father
You, my friends, have joined me
So now we sit and ponder

Oh, what fun we did have!
During our many travels
But, you see my friends
Tomorrow I shall walk alone

Carrying on my back
The burden of being the lamb
But, you see my friends
It is only I that can

I love all of you
Truly I do!
But alas my friends
Tomorrow we bid adieu

This is The Last Supper my friends
For tomorrow we part our ways
I’ll walk that long, lonesome path
But remember me for the rest of your days

If I find my work anywhere on the net other than here or one of my websites I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Liam Nesson rules.
