I have been invited to submit an article to steampunkchronicle.com for consideration to be included in their online magazine. My ordinarily overflowing brain suddenly went into seizure for ideas because I was so shocked and thrilled by the invitation.
After a little while thinking about the type of magazine it was and my own skills of writing and building affordable costumes, I came up with these ideas:
1. Tour of a Hardware store for items to be used in a costume with little or no alteration
2. Tour of the local Good Will for items to use in a costume (men and women) and how to alter them.
3. What Steam Punk Archetype character would you want to be?
Analyze the different archetypes and what it means to choose a particular personality.
Airship Captain
Eccentric Professor
Mechanic
Swash-buckling Adventurer
Femme Fatale
Outcast
Mysterious stranger
Moustache-twirling Villain
The Hand behind the Power
Lovable Rascal
Highwayman.
4. The steps to creating a persona and then making that persona come to life.
What I'd like is for members here to comment and give em their personal preference of that they'd like to read about.
I'll also be submitting a good old fashioned serial for steampunkchronicle.com readers to enjoy. Thanks for your help, everyone.

Airship Captain is always a good one. (Been watching Last Exile again. xD)
It's very iconic Steampunk. No other genre has airships, really.
A second choice for me might be Highwayman. Reminds me of Fable 2, and you'd probably get some awesome longcoat costumes.
Are we supposed to comment on the site itself? Is it just steampunkchronicle.com or is there a specific url you can link us to?

No, I was asking which of the 4 ideas for an article people might like to read, so I knew which of the 4 to write.
But thanks Kalon. lols

This sounds like an awesome opportunity! Congratulations, Muse! Please do share the link when your article is published. Steampunk is something I've always wanted to delve into, so I would love to see whatever you come up with. x3
As for the topics, I think the first three sound the most appropriate. The last option appears to pertain more to the craft of writing in general, or otherwise seems like it could easily overlap with the third topic. So I was thinking that you could maybe save it for later ― a future publication, perhaps? Or you could discuss the third and fourth topics in tandem, I suppose. Urm...unless I've completely misunderstood your intentions. If I have, then I apologize deeply. >w<
But I agree with Kalon! To me, it's the characters, and the unique machinery, that gives the steampunk genre its own distinctive imprint on modern literature. The aristocrats and the sky pirates, for instance. Or the brass and copper gadgetry and steam golems. [Smiles faintly.] On that note, I think an exploration of the steampunk archetypes would be really interesting. Were you only planning to cover a few? If so, I think the Eccentric Professor and the Lovable Rascal sound fun. ^ ^

Thanks for the input, Aether.
And I had actually intended #4 to point directly to creating a persona in order to make the perfect costume for conventions and the like. But, you're very correct, it would be perfectly applicable to writing as well.

My vote is on three or four, but my personal favorite would be option number four. I feel that this article would the the most encompassing of the steampunk genre.

That's awesome that you've got the opportunity Digi! Congrats.
Far as my opinion..I'd say number four or number two.
