The world has fallen to the dead, there is no place safe for a large group hence why people have banded into small groups of ten to fifteen people. The dead have been sorted into three groups, Walkers, Horde and Stalkers. Walkers are the least dangerous of all the types of undead they are scattered and hardly work together anyone facing off with a lone walker with a good weapon no matter the training can dispatch this kind of undead with ease.

Horde are the worst kind a survivor want to run into figuratively and quite literally. You will be ripped to pieces and lost to the mouths of this large groups of zombies, there will almost certainly never be anything left you to to come back as the dead. The only weapons recommended in a horde face off would be heavy weapons if cornered but the discharge of such firepower would just be ringing the dinner bell for all the dead within ear shot.

The Lurkers are not so dangerous, lurkers are similar to the Walkers and they are true to their name, lurking in one area almost never leaving that spot.

Alright same here, I'm getting my character sheet up by monday or tuesday on my days off.

Name: (first)(Last) David Barry

Physical Description : David is the epitome of an athlete who has let himself go. While he was a former college boxer, he has some extra fat on him now. He has watery brown eyes and thin, sharp features. His hands are still heavily callused and scars, although now it is more from the shooting range and occasional renaissance fair bout than boxing. He has large feet, and is slightly near-sighted. He does not use contacts or glasses.

Attitude: Manic, with rapidly changing moods. While normally stable, the stress has induced significant mental trauma.

History: David was born to a normal family and is the oldest of three siblings. During his youth he was an avid runner and boxer, which he continued through college. However, lacking sufficient skill, David hit an insurmountable wall, a man named Marcos Ortega. Ortega knocked David out three times in a row, and David retired. Ortega went on to be a successful middle weight professional boxer, attaining a world ranking. The two have remained friends.

David graduated college with a degree in medical technology and went on to attain a masters in chemical engineering, focusing biotech development. Missing an outlet for energy that boxing provided, David began shooting, specifically with a 9mm pistol. His other outlet was more in field with his nerdy buddies. He began to go to the renaissance fair and re-enact the knightly duels. After that he became doomed to become horribly nerdy, and does not have much of a social life outside of this specific community. He recently broke up with his last girlfriend, Milly Dasen.

The first thing David did when he heard about the Rising was to go to a close local outdoors store. The employees had already taken their first pick and left, so he looted what he though was useful and left.

Job: Chemical Engineer, specifically working with biotechnology developments. He specializes in micro scale bioanalytical assays.

Expertise: Expert Chemist, Certified basic EMT, Good shooting pistols, good at melee combat

Weapons: 6 lb mace, 5 lb field axe, one 9mm Beretta with a box of 200 rounds and three full magazines, 13 rounds each.

Equipment: He has looted a hiking backpack, a small propane tank and grill, a backpacking sleeping bag, a heavy winter coat, two shirts and two backpacking pants. He is wearing hockey pads, a leather jacket and steel toed hiking boots. He has two changes of socks. He has one full quart canteen and empty 1 gallon camelback bag. He is carrying a small portable game board for backgammon, chess and go. He has three days of backpacking rations and a small, light water filter. Two rolls of gauze and antiseptic solution. The last item he has is one climbing rope, 200 feet long.

Physical Description : Asher still retains a lot of his physical form from his Army days: broad shoulders, lean muscle, and a closely shaved head of dark brown hair. However he is not bulky, more of a lightweight fighter type of look. He has heavy eyebrows that hover over his dull green eyes. His eyes have a haunted look to them, and also a look of desperation. A thin layer of dark stubble covers his jaw and cheeks.

Attitude: Asher is highly disciplined, and usually follows a regimen throughout his day. He calculates problems carefully, playing out every scenario in his head before he makes a decision. However, after his tours of duty in Afghanistan, he has been diagnosed with PTSD. He has frequent nightmares, and go into panic attacks randomly. He tries to calm himself down without medication, and usually the only thoughts that can get him back to normal are those of his daughter.

History: Asher got his girlfriend pregnant when they were both 18 years old. In order to provide for his future child, and future wife, he enlisted in the US Army. He married his girlfriend shortly after being accepted into the service, and got to see his little girl born right before his unit was shipped off to Afghanistan. He was branched to an infantry unit, and over the course of the next year proved his worth to his platoon. By the end of his first tour he had made Sergeant. He was so happy when he got to go home to see his daughter and wife, but that happiness wasn’t to last. Only 2 years after being home, his unit was called into action again, and he went back into hell for the second time. It was during his second tour that something happened. The mission details were classified, and after Asher and only a few others from the platoon returned alive, the case was closed and never opened again. Asher was severely wounded: multiple gunshot wounds to his leg and chest, as were several of the other men who made it back alive. The brass gave him a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for helping to rescue several of his men from the firefight, but he was quietly asked to retire.

Asher came home a broken man after that. He could barely even respond to his own daughter, now nearly 5 years old. His marriage deteriorated, and after only a few months his wife left him, taking his daughter as well. This time was the lowest in Asher’s life. He stopped going to work, and started drinking, and was found on the kitchen floor by his boss one morning when Asher failed to show up for work for the 5th time that week. He was rushed to the hospital and treated for alcohol poisoning, and taken to the VA for rehab and PTSD treatment. The doctors at the VA gave him pills, which he didn’t take, and eventually told him that he needed to find an outlet for his fears and depression. So, Asher started to hunt. He had always loved the outdoors, and he sold his house in the city and got a cheap apartment and a cabin out in the woods. He would go out to that cabin as much as he could and hunt, and then stay up all night looking at the stars. Being alone out in nature calmed him down, and kept his mind as empty as the night sky. It was where he belonged. He was at his cabin when he heard a call on the radio about the epidemic. Something about the dead walking around. Asher had only one thing on his mind then: find his daughter. So he loaded up his truck, and drove back into the zombie infested city.

Job: Warehouse worker, former Army infantryman

Expertise: Excellent tracker and hunter, basic first aid knowledge, excellent knowledge of weapons maintenance, good at ranged and melee combat

Weapons: .44 caliber revolver, 2 boxes of ammunition (100 rounds), bone handled hunting knife, crowbar with custom leather grip and wrist strap, compound bow with quiver (50 arrows).

Physical Description : A athlete in combat Dan is a pretty large man but not toned, his mass more for power and less agility. Blonde hair cut to a military buzz cut and light blue eyes.

Attitude: cool headed but mostly cold when it comes to humor. Tries to be optimistic as best he can but he calls it like he sees it when situations are impossible or when all hope seems lost.

History: Dan served in the military from his seventeenth birthday to the end of his twenty second. Starting a career as a professional Boxer, Dan was looking rather good as a heavyweight contender at the tender age of twenty three going 18-0. Dan, however never go to the top of the food chain as he was KOed in his first real major pro fight and got a doctor's view that he should retire due to possible further brain trama after three straight up knockouts. Devastated Dan keep going in the fighting sport but chose to exit boxing with a respectable record of 34-4 at the age of twenty seven.

Keeping to the doctor's suggestion he stopped competing in boxing and learned the 'gentle' arts of Judo and Brazilian Jujitsu, his large frame giving him a advantage in the grappling arts. Dan's first professional bout in Judo was halted by the outbreak, several zombies barged into the gym and Cross ended up crushing one's head with a free weight and he made his way from the gym to his home with his former military weapons he was allowed to keep after being honorably discharged. Gathering his weapons Dan left to seek shelter if any were to be found in all this chaos....

Job: Former Boxer, Military, Judo and Brazilian Jujitsu. (Security and runnings)

Expertise: Hand to hand specialist, gun upkeep, firearms,

Weapons: Combat knife(5 inches) 9mm Beretta with 60 rounds, RMB-93 12-Guage shotgun with 46 rounds.

Tattoos or body marks : A Celtic cross on his back, several Drudic symbols on his knuckles and a tattoo of "God is My judge and Jesus is my freedom." inside the cross in small letters on his back. A scar going from the middle of his forehead to end at the right end of his eyebrow.

I've been considering creating a character, but having a little trouble. I want to make a female character, but I'm not really sure how to work her in. I mean you all seem bad ass with backgrounds in stuff, and I didn't want her to be all like that, but I didn't want her to be helpless. Y'know.

Can you offer me any advice or help?

Sure. Your character doesn't have to be in shape or have previous fighting experience. You learn fast or die when your life is on the line. She could easily be out of shape; my character is. The main consideration you want to make is whether or not she is paranoid to have at least mentally prepared for this. If not you have a character who is surviving by the skin of there teeth, and you would get help from other people. It happens in Walking Dead too.

However, that being said, unless your character has decent cardio or a group around her to help her survive the initial days, it's highly unlikely to survive, so she should be a little crazy.

That was one thing I had trouble with. I think physically she'd be totally prepared, but mentally I think she would be completely freaked out, but I didn't know how I would display that. I've actually been hoping another female would post, so I could kind of see what they went with. But, I might just have to go ahead and figure her out.

Would you like me to mock up a profile? I can play two characters if need be, and you would have an example.

Bleh, I wouldn't want to be an inconvenience over something I know how to do. I mean I know how to make a profile. As well, I would hate for you to make another character.

Ugh, I'd hate to say yes and have you go through the extra effort, plus I hate to have anyone do anything for me. Damn it! I will have one up tomorrow. Writing for two characters is not a problem for me. It won't be too horribly detailed, as my other c.s. isn't that fantastic in that regard either.

Typically I'm usually pretty good with coming up with characters, but I have to admit it's more difficult when you aren't so familar with the show, or when all you've seen of it are it's main male characters; this being coupled by it's mainly male dominate interest. But, again, usually I'm really good with character sheets(almost reading to much into it because I want them to be perfect). So thank you.

Physical Description : Samantha has dark brown skin and roughly chopped black hair. She has angular features and bright green eyes. She is slim and has the physique of a runner.
Attitude: Depressed, Terrified.

History: Samantha is the third child of four. While she is close to her family, they live in a different state. She has two older brothers who were fiercely protective of their little sisters and had many fights over who she could and could not date in high school. Luckily, they both went to out-of-state colleges. However, as one went into the Marines Force Recon as a sniper and the other was on track to become a criminal lawyer, their reputation was sufficient to protect her chastity, for the most part. She played soft ball in high school as third baseman, and unlike her brothers, had low academic success. She did take courses to become a paralegal and has been so for the last 5 years.

When the dead first began to rise, Samantha was taking a sick day to have a romantic day with her boyfriend, Alex Carrel. It was going well until after lunch, when Alex received an urgent call to return to his job as a paramedic. Two hours later, he was back at her apartment covered in blood. He had a packed duffel bag under his arm and was panicked. He screamed at her to pack quickly and started babbling about zombies. He fatefully forgot to lock the door, and was attacked and bitten. Samantha grabbed a baseball bat and slugged the zombie off him. Alex shot the zombie in the head twice and threw a bunch of clothes and other necessities into another duffel bag he had for her.

Grabbing both bags, he grabbed his girlfriend and dragged her out the door of her apartment. He shoved her into his truck and tossed his keys inside. Samantha waited for an hour as zombies began to steadily gather around. She darted through the gathering horde, and managed to make it inside safely. Alex was no where to be seen. Her old high school wood bat allowed her to make it back to the truck safely. 4-wheel drive allowed her to escape downtown by driving on the curbs, and frequently over people who couldn't or wouldn't get out of the way.

Job: Paralegal
Expertise: Handy with a baseball bat, good at carving and whittling
Weapons:Baseball bat and a pistol with six rounds left. One cermonial k-bar knife from her brother.

And, no matter how athletic Monica always stayed, it could never hid her natural curves.

Attitude: Monica grew up with a competitive nature and strong will. She was always on top of things, but lately, since the dead walk the earth, she's not quite the same girl.

History: When Monica was very young her mother died of cancer, leaving her to live with her father and two older brothers. She grew being quite close to her brothers and father, but sibling rivalry is always a little healthy;though being the only girl in a house full of men she had to learn to hold her own, and not loose the fight. Through this she found her niche for sports. All through school she played all types of sports: soccer, volleyball, track, lacrosse, and softball. She received a softball scholarship to college where she study nursing, and went on to work in an ER.
One day a patient and their family came in, the patient had a scorching fever, after long he attack his family and another nurse. Monica didn't know what was going on. One of the doctors managed to kill the man, after a couple of tries. Monica fled home to her brother, to hear that this was happening all over. They packed up and were heading to meet their oldest brother and his family(that live on the other side of the country) when the two got separated. Monica has been on her own for a few weeks now, and they stress is getting to her. She is loosing weight and has even lost some hair.

Job: Emergency Medical Nurse

Expertise: Emergency Medical Care, First Aid, CPR, ect. Skilled in sports.

Weapons: Her father's hunting rifle with a scope,brothers pocket knife, and an aluminum softball bat from her senior year.

Hello shadow, I was wondering, because I didn't ask or say anything in my bio, but is it alright if my character is from another state or city or whatever, and is in the city you all are in? Because I did state in my bio she was traveling with her brother but they got separated...
I just wanted to make sure that was okay, because I know you stated that they would all be in the same place.

I believe that is well within your right to develop your own character, as long as we are all in the same place and your character and her brother were separated at the same city everyone else is in.

By the way, can I have a name for the city?

Also, any eta's for posts lozy and musta?

Hey, new to the site. I'm a big fan of Walking Dead and I'd be interested in joining. I was planning on posting an ex-military character, although those seem to already be prevalent in the RP. If you'd like, I could go with a different archetype.
