Background: Cyrus spent most of his life living in the suburbs or Denver where he live quite the average life. Even as a young boy he was always more focused on having fun rather than working; a trait that still holds true to this day. It was this mindset that got him labeled as a slacker, which was only exemplified by his grades proceeding college. He had been a straight C student out of choice; he knew all of the material and easily could have been in the top of his class. The problem was his drive, once that bell rang at the end of the day, he wouldn't think about school until he walked back through those doors the following morning; as a result his test grades were nearly perfect, but his homework grades were 0's across the board.

Once he graduated high school, he left Colorado to head to a Chicago to start with a clean slate. For three years he worked odd hours at a fitness center making enough to pay his living expenses with just enough left over to enjoy himself during his days off. It was a job that allowed him to stay active while on the clock, which helped gave him time to work on his own physique. Once he turned 21, he immediately enrolled in a 6-month program at a nearby community college training to become a skilled bartender. It was the best decision he had ever made, finally he had a job where he could both be the life of the party and make a good amount of money doing so.

Personality: Cyrus is typically calm and composed, rarely is he ever blunt with his words or impulsive with his actions. Very logical with his thought process and is always willing to question why things are done the way that are. If he has one personality flaw, it would certainly be his ego. His calm demeanor quickly becomes abrasive and sarcastic if he feels belittled or insulted by another and can easily lead to him becoming aggressive if the attacks on his character persist.

Personality: Logan’s personality changes drastically with various circumstances. In times of peace or merriment, he falls back into his Hibernic roots in the form of heavy social drinking and roughhousing. When in such a state, his high levels of positive energy tend to radiate around him and can bring joy to even the most somber of people. In times of duress or duty, Logan’s personality is on par with that of a highly trained ranking officer. His focus falls upon what needs to be done to accomplish the task ahead of him quickly and efficiently; all other distractions get pushed aside, personal or otherwise. When in such a state of mind, he does not tolerate people who aren’t carrying their weight and can come off as ruthless to those that don’t know his other side.

Background: Logan was raised far out of civilized territory on a farm with his parents and six other siblings. While there, he learned the importance of physical labor and how to live off the land; it was necessary to ensure the survival of his family through bitter winters and long droughts. He was homeschooled until he was fifteen, at which time his family moved closer to the city in order to ensure the children received a proper education and had options in life apart from farming. This experienced opened Logan’s eyes to technology that he had only heard about and worked hard to understand how complex machines and electrical devices operated. Logan’s insatiable thirst for knowledge allowed him to excel at school and was able to find a patron to finance his enrollment in higher education in the form of engineering.

At the age of twenty-five, Logan graduated from university and quickly found jobs that took him to the farthest edges of the known world in order to allow civilization to spread. Whether it was building railroads and bridges deep into the frontier or acting as an advisor to adventurers who wanted to delve deeper into the unknown than civilization was ready to reach, Logan loved his job to no end. When he was twenty-eight, Logan met a lovely woman explorer by the name of Katie Isabella Cresswell while assisting in the construction of a railroad bridge in southern Egypt. The two of them fell in love over the course of their time together and ended up getting married before the year was out.

At the age of thirty-one, Logan and Katie were working together on a project in another remote part of Egypt. Over the course of a week, a small group of lions had become aggressive and slowly been extending their hunting grounds closer to the encampment, killing several workers in the process. At the end of the week, Logan was a part of the hunting party that was gathered to stop this threat and managed to kill three of them. Upon his return, he discovered that two more lions had gone another route that put them inside the camp. Several people had been killed or injured in the panic as the large cats fought in a panicked frenzy before fleeing; Katie was one of those who were mortally wounded.

After several months of mourning, Logan once again began taking jobs and doing what he loved knowing that it is what his wife would have wanted. During his period of mourning, Logan began to dabble a bit into lay magic with the guidance of one of his longtime friends. The magical feat itself was just a byproduct, the reason he had been interested in this was for the sake of meditation and focusing his thoughts. To this day, Logan doesn’t strive to develop his skills in the art to the point of practical use; as with before, it is a way for him to relax and reflect his thoughts.

There is nothing that stands out regarding his facial features, which only helps to draw attention to his forest green eyes. As with most soldiers, his hands and feet are calloused and his skin is tough though bearing no scars or unusual marks with the exception of a tattoo on his right shoulder that is the insignia for his unit in the Marines.

As an adolescent, Alexander worked for his father’s urban demolition business. Although a lot of it involved wrecking balls and other heavy machinery, there were several instances where they would use explosives to allow larger buildings to implode upon itself. It was this part of the job that interested him the most and learned almost everything about it, though he was never certified to actually handle the explosives before he enlisted in the Marines at the age of 18.

It wasn’t long before his superiors learned about his experience with explosives and enrolled him in a program that focused on infiltration and reconnaissance once he made it through basic training. For the next eight years following this training, he was assigned to a laundry list of missions and sorties. Most of them consisted of using plastique to take out key targets that would make the grunts’ life much easier. For the most part, his team was mostly confronted by small groups of armed individuals that were unaware and dealt with quickly and easily. There had been a number of instances where something had gone wrong with the mission causing his team or himself to be pinned down by gunfire. For the most part, this is the closest he had ever come to fighting in a conventional conflict. Although he managed to come through such encounters with only minor injuries, he learned to despise such exchanges.

After his eight-year term, Alexander was honorably discharged from service and tried his luck in the private sector. It only took him a month for him to become bored with civilian life and yearned for adventure. Despite his record, the only position the Marines would have offered him would have been behind a desk or some other mundane job on some random military base. Seeing no other alternative, Alex decided to freelance as a mercenary.

Over a century ago, Janus’ great grandfather was considered an eccentric and paranoid with the small cache of arms he had horded in his small southern Nevada home. He even went so far as to have a fully stocked fallout shelter for when the “the commies grew too bold for their own good.” Needless to say, the people who ridiculed him had been thoroughly cleansed from the gene pool in the very blaze of nuclear fire that had been “too absurd to even consider as a possibility.” Once the dust and chaos subsided, the Dekker family had been far better off than most and had secured their place in the wasteland as a source for civilian weaponry, ammunition, and survival know how. Fearing the attention and responsibility of expanding to a large-scale business during such chaotic times, the family ensured their profile in the market stood out enough to be recognizable but not enough to draw unwanted attention.

At present, Dekker Wasteland Essentials consists of its primary shop in the very same bunker that the family had emerged generations ago as well as a store Vegas, Fresno, Spokane, and San Antonio all run by the Dekker family. Janus is the eldest son of the household that runs the shop in Vegas and has taken the family business to heart. Although he is skilled in the art of bartering, his expertise is with tinkering, repairing, and modifying items ranging from simple cudgels and firearms to generators that had been salvaged from the scrap heap. Marksmanship and wasteland survival tactics are the cornerstones of any member of the Dekker family; though Janus is skilled with maintaining and using a wide range of firearms, his skills are limited to target practice and hunting. Only a few times in his life had he ever opened fire upon a person, each of which was due to a greedy customer wanting the wears and feeling they would be able to take it by force. The family didn’t get where it is today by allowing others to take without incident and Janus dealt with both assailants with lethal results.

Janus is as the prime of his life, without a spouse or roots to keep him planted in Vegas as a fire for adventure flares within him. He is ready to go out and seek new places where he can hone and improve upon the skills he has learned since childhood, to put them to the test and strengthen his family because of it. All he waits for is an opportunity to venture forth and see what fate has in store for him.

Personality: Cunning and open. The time-honored motto of their family is one that got them through the nuclear apocalypse; prepare for all contingencies. In this new world the only thing worse than going into something with a rigid plan is to not plan at all, but not by much. Janus takes time to evaluate his situation and strategize in a way that will be executed fluidly no matter what unforeseen obstacles present themselves. He is also not the type to take advantage of people as long as they are of good character. All promises he makes he views as a binding contract and will never willingly go against it even if he would benefit greatly by doing so. As long as it falls within his moral compass, he will follow a cause with unwavering passion and resolve. Friends are viewed as family, which means everything when coming from a Dekker.

Clothing: Alex typically wanders the wasteland wearing a tan hooded cloak that hides most of his features. Beneath that is a standard S.W.A.T. uniform including body armor, knee and shoulder pads, and combat boots. He also has leather gauntlets that cover his hands and forearms, each of which conceals a retractable katar blade.
Tattoos/Piercings/Scars: A barcode is tattooed on the back of his neck as a form of identification for when he was being experimented upon. Several small scars mark his body from the countless tubes, hoses, needles, and incisions from medical equipment and surgeries.

Personal:
Background:
During the early stages of the outbreak, Umbrella Corp. had worked in tandem with the US military in an attempt to recreate soldiers with the innate combat abilities of their “Alice project”. These experiments were geared around utilizing hosts to successfully bond the T-Virus to their system, effectively making them better than typical humans in every way possible. The problem came from the virus’s tendency to overtake the host and turn them into the creatures that are now overrunning the planet. In order to prevent this occurrence, the proper mixture between virus and anti-virus must be administered at proper intervals; a razor’s edge between two extremes of either being immune to the T-Virus or being overtaken by it. One of the few successful trials was the 17th attempt for batch “Alexander”, the subject of the successful trial was given the code name Alexander Rho.

Alex had been implanted with all the knowledge needed by the perfect soldier specializing in elimination of all the infected forms known by the date of his awakening. The procedure left him without any memories from his past, his earliest memory being when he woke up on the steel table in a blinding white room as he was hooked up to countless medical devices and IVs. By this time, the facility has been abandoned, the T-Virus epidemic has swept across the planet and turned most of its surface into a desert wasteland.

Personality:
Very much a loner mentality. The lack of memories of his past life has given him a drive to do what he can to reestablish ties to who he once was, doing all he can to find his past. A majority of his knowledge is based around combating the virus and survival strategies, the result of which has left him more robotic and cold as far as personality is concerned. Alex has been programmed with the goal to save what little life remains in the wasteland, but lacks the social skills to be able to interact with it effectively.

Janus is exactly the type of person you think of when Irish stereotypes come into play. Drinking, swearing, and brawling are all vices that Janus wears like badges of honor. To him, life is a game that many people take too seriously; he could never figure out why people allow the stresses of everyday life to beat them down when they could simply be shrugged off without a second thought and nothing a few pints couldn’t fix for the more extreme situations. Janus isn’t the type to become angry or intimidated, but he is always up for a fight. Just for the shear sport of it, mind you. He is the type that would provoke a person into a fight, beat their ass in the parking lot, then buy them a drink and share a few laughs once the dust settles. Two drinks for the rare occasions where he loses.

Biography:
From the schoolyard to present day, Janus’ life revolves around fighting. It was by the shear grace of the Almighty that he managed to graduate from preliminary schooling; both because of the poor grades and the laundry list of offences that stained his permanent record in red ink. He hadn’t even turned eighteen before he participated in his first unlicensed boxing match. Despite his inevitable and bloody defeat, he absolutely loved the experience and immediately began training to make a career from it. Years passed and his skills grew exponentially to the point where he was unbeatable in just about any ring, octagon, or back alley.

Though his love for the brawl never wavered, Janus found himself becoming depressed by the lack of competition. It was around this time that all hell had broken loose (literally) and was offered a position within Specter. Ecstatic doesn’t even begin to describe his mood after being given this opportunity. He worked diligently to prepare himself to fight hordes of powerful enemies, for the thrill of fighting demons with nothing but his own two hands and abilities. Though the taming of the gravity element, Janus had made a devastating combination between his own fighting prowess and bone pulverizing force behind his attacks.

Personality: Jason is the type that isn’t content with laying around and doing nothing; the whole drive to his day is to experience something new and exciting. As would be expected of such an adventurer, he is very energetic and optimistic. Although he is quite friendly, even to strangers, negative people tend to be met with sarcasm and lighthearted teasing in hopes to ease the tense environment. Whenever Jason is told that he can’t or shouldn’t do something without having a good reason, the advice is likely to be viewed as a challenge rather than a warning. When his mind is set on a task, Jason has a tendency to get a sort of tunnel vision and ignores any obstacles (no matter how perilous) that may get in his way until the goal has been achieved. Fear is usually overwhelmed by his ambition and Jason rarely relents his objectives once his mind has been set. Those that call him reckless due to that trait only furthers his ambition to prove to them what he is capable of accomplishing.
