Planet Earth is nearing it's death, a common fact, but what is more important is that there are creatures on this planet that can cause more immediate harm. These creatures have been around since long before modern humans. They appeared through interbreeding species, and because of their strength they survived through millennia. These creatures are creatures of the night - werebeasts, vampyrs, gargoyles, you name it. They now exist intermingled with people, at least until night time falls. When the sun hides behind the planet and the gravity of the moon upsets everything these creatures come out in their natural form. A few humans know they exist, but they are sworn by death that they will never repeat it.

It is the year 2015, the world is much like it is today. Technology hasn't advanced, war hasn't changed, education stays the same. Government systems are all run the same way, although a few countries in Africa have settled and converted to a rough democracy (Namely Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Bahrain, Syria, Yemen, Algeria, Arabia, and Sudan). The creatures of the night continue to exist among the humans mostly peacefully. Although, it is obvious to those who have kept their ties that something is changing deep within the structure of the creatures' society. Something is brewing - war? carnage? extinction? There's no way to tell until it happens.

The creatures have always kept their selves hidden because of an elaborate set of Elders who have kept structure, truth, and peace among all the creatures. However, with any government-esk system there are always rebels and those who slip out of view. It is outlawed for a creature of the night to not follow the directions of the Elders, and the penalty is instant death. If these rebels are ever found out they will be reported and killed.

I'm hoping that there will be enough interest in different kinds of creatures that we can play things all over the world. Of course with your character you can choose for them to live wherever you'd like. They could be an elder, a rebel, or a regular creature. They can also be whatever kind of creature you choose, but lets try to be creative and not have all vampyrs or something. The outcome of this upset within the structure of the creatures is left entirely up to those who decide to play. It could be different between species, or the same all over.

I do expect this to get mature at points, with violence, sex, gore, etc. Just a heads up, but hey it's all of our roleplay so if you aren't comfortable with that you do not have to involve yourself.

Name: Nessa Mithrandir

Night Creature: Werewolf, appears as a white wolf
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Language: English, a little Cantonese.
History/Other: Nessa was born Romanian, and has lived in most parts of Europe, Thailand, and now Hong Kong. Her father was a werewolf Elder, her mother a common werewolf. Both have died since, as Nessa was their last child. She has about a dozen siblings, but she doesn't know any of them by name as they all took off either before she was born or during her young childhood years. Werebeasts are notorious for being independent as a pack of them would be easily noticed. Nessa is considered a common werewolf as she usually acts by the laws set out by the Elders. However, recently, she has fallen off the grid of the Elders as she decided it was better to roam free. Nessa is interested in girls, although is single. She doesn't follow any religion. She works as an artist, mostly traditional drawings but has meddled in paintings and digital art. She lives middle class - because of her family she had quite a nice inheritance, but because she could live for hundreds of years she lives moderately. Currently, her apartment is a fairly modern studio, although it's about fifty years old so is run down. The time she spends not drawing is spent clubbing, at the library, or attending underground Elder meetings. Because of her heritage, when she reached 250 years old she will be considered an Elder, although it is up to her whether or not she accepts the role - which is something she is really struggling with.

Because of the massive population of her area there aren't too many creatures that reside there. About a few hundred, but not enough to be noticed. There are few areas to hide when you transform, which can be done by will except for the full moon, when werebeasts are transformed into their natural form by force as soon as the moon appears. Other creatures, such as gargoyles and vampyrs, are left the choice 100% of the time whether to transform or not. All creatures of the night have a creature form and a human form that cannot be altered, unless of course you are a shapeshifter. Nessa has acquaintances with every type of creature, but tries not to subject herself to just creatures. She finds humans fascinating in their freedom and ignorance.

I may be interested. I've been looking for a chance to rp something other than a werewolf or vampire.

Is there any major plot or is this more of an open ended rp where backgrounds and personal storylines will cross to form the story?

It's definitely the latter. I'm hoping that whoever joins will be interested enough to make paths cross and histories mingle. So definitely an open ended rp.

This looks very interesting, Indigo. My only concern is that by having players literally spread out all over the world, it will make interaction extremely difficult.

Hrms...being in another superb RP where truly gifted writers have been writing for over a year and we STILL have barely started to get together into one area, I am a little leary of that. It's just too much to leave to a hope that the players can concoct a reason to get together into one place so they can interact.

Well I was thinking that since there is something stirring there would be an Elder meeting that even a few rebels would be interested in attending. I was going to use that as the gather point.

Ahh some direction is always a good idea. If the players have a reason to be somewhere and work toward something, it makes all the difference in the world.

If you have something of a working plot, I'd love to hear about it. Because it does sound interesting.

That is the plot. There is something stirring within the creatures as a society, but no one is quite sure what it is. There has been more violence and forced changes than expected but no one can pinpoint who or why. So, the elders are holding a meeting involving every creature.
