Dice?

Ok so RPG got a dice system going.

Any chance you can get one here?

It would open up a whole new can of whoop ass.

Die based Rp's are EPIC WIN!

You could just open a tab to some RNG website.

Trouble is people can be accused of cheating then.

And that causes unwanted conflict.

An in post dice system works well, because you roll. Get the numbers. Then go back and do your post. And once rolled the die cant be changed.

Wouldn't they still be able to cheat...?

I actually do believe we can have a dice feature. Let me go to and get that for us now.

All right, well I think I got it working okay now. Is that what you wanted?

In order to use the dice, find it located just below the Preview and Send buttons when you reply or start a new topic.

Then select the Red Dice from the drop down menu. Then you can say how many times you want to roll it. If you want to add more dice too, just click on the plus sign. That's about it!

Neat. Is there the option to have more Dice? Like D20?

Also, it'd be nice if you didn't need to actually post in order to throw dice; for example, if I want to post in a RPG, I need to throw Dice and then post afterwards, when I have their results, and having to do one post beforehand is redundant.

Yeah, I wish I could fix that, but unfortunately, when you roll the dice, it makes it a separate post after whatever you said in the message.

Do you mean like dice with more faces on them, Kaito? I could do that, but I would have to personally find individual images of each of the the dice to use. You can add more 6-sided dice though to a roll by clicking on the plus sign.

Uhm, the way I envision it is that you have an option to throw dice in the posting page, and it will generate the number using AJAX (without reloading the site itself); so the bot posts the dice post, but you don't have to send your post for it, just getting the number you rolled displayed so you can use it in writing your post. If you throw dice repeatedly, the throws would be added to the GM's post as long as no one else posted inbetween then.
(That would probably require some additional programming, though. I'm working as programmer so I know it's not that hard to implement, given you have access to the code)


And yes I mean 20 faced dice. They're common in roleplays. There's all kinds of dice, though. If you don't have images of the dice themselves, simple images of numbers would suffice, for now.

or you could try to make it more versatile at the sake of beauty by having something that is #dX where # is the input for the number of dice and the X is an input for the max number the die has on it.

I really don't have any more control over this than what is already there, unfortunately. The only options I have are to create more dice and to create dice with any number of sides and add images. That's it, I'm sorry to say.

I actually think that this will work with without any images. Let me test this 20-sided dice out.
