All right, this is the biggest gaming event of the year, period. Has anyone else been watching?

My personal favorite as far as information goes is Star Wars: The Old Republic, the new Star Wars MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) being designed by Electronic Arts (EA), Lucas Arts, and Bioware (Mass Effect, anyone?). "TOR," as it's called in the gaming community, is aiming to bring an exciting new level of gameplay to the MMO genre. Bioware has promised a storyline more detailed and epic than all of their other major titles, though this is their first MMO. Additionally, every character you see, whether it is a playable character, an NPC, or a mission (quest) provider, will all be fully voiced.

Here is the new trailer for TOR released yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCh8PkP2T2k&feature=player_embedded

And here is the one from last year's E3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjhJcm-lpjc

So is anyone else excited for anything announced at E3 thus far? Call of Duty: Black Ops, Twisted Metal, Legend of Zelda?... Share your thoughts and reactions, or ask questions if there's something you might have missed!

The Old Republic looks absolutely amazing. =D I haven't played a Star Wars game past the N64 though (yeah, despite my absolute nerdism when it comes to Star Wars books...), so I don't know if I'll ever pick it up.

Super excited for Portal 2. Also cannot wait for Epic Mickey, and the new Okami game is intriguing enough for me to want to play the entire series.

Finally, still waiting for Golden Sun DS, of course.

New Legend of Zelda? I don't follow news that well. So you'll have to tell me. Heh.

I want to play portal, I just have gotten around to it. D:

Golden Sun DS? What kind of game is that, Lara?

The new Zelda game is Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, for the Nintendo Wii system, obviously. The game features some new weapons, including a whip and a little bug-launcher thing that I don't know the name of. It will heavily rely on the Wii motion controller and the Wii Motion plus nun-chuk to control Link's actions in the game. The right-hand controller will control Link's sword, with the direction you slash as the actual direction Link slashes. The nun-chuk will control your shield if you have it equipped, even taking commands for actions like a "shield bash." You also use the Wii's controls to roll and throw bombs, and control the other classic weapons of the Legend of Zelda franchise.

I haven't played Portal, but it was a surprise announcement that Portal 2 will also be released on the Playstation 3 system. Supposedly, the developers (Valve Corporation) had said that any sequel would not be released on the Playstation platform, so it was not expected. It was only briefly shown, but looked like it had a good trailer. Fans of the series are probably more excited than I am, purely because I haven't tried the first one yet. I've heard it's great.

I don't know much about Golden Sun, so hopefully Lara will share all the details! Razz

As an update for anyone wanting to watch E3 in the U.S., it's on G4TV. Today, it's starting at 6:00 Eastern time, and they're covering some specific games including Gran Turismo 5, RAGE, Killzone 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, plus more! I apologize to my European friends, as I don't know what channels you receive for coverage. Try looking up E3 coverage!

Thanks for the reply! I most have that Zelda game! It sounds absolutely awesome. I can't wait. I'm at a total loss for words.

If they tell anything about the 3D DS I'd be interested to know. I have no idea where I could follow E3 and well, it's bed time soon. ;_;

The Zelda game will interest me more if it comes with a left-handed option. But then again, I haven't cared that much about the series since the N64 games (do we notice a trend, folks? I adored the N64. XD ). I do like the manga versions of the games, though.

You should definitely try Portal, Space! It's a fantastic game! And 2's gonna be on the PS3? Hmm.... -chalks up one more point to the PS3 vs. 360 table she's got going-

Golden Sun DS is the third game in the Golden Sun series. It's a fantasy-based RPG that follows a group of kids who use a form of magic known as 'Psynergy' as they try to save the world from evil, yadda yadda. XD It's got repeat characters from the previous games so I'd highly recommend taking a look at 1 and 2 if you enjoy RPGs at all. They're for the GBA. (/bad explanation...)

Golden Sun 1 came out in 2001, and Golden Sun 2 came out in 2003, so I've been waiting a very long time for this game, and it has me giddy. =)
