Ok, so I've opened this topic on a Dutch site a few weeks ago and it's a huge success with great posts. It's easy: you just post the great movie cliche's you can think of! I'll start:

Whenever a woman's being stared at by a dude standing outside, she always unbuttons her shirt before closing the curtains.

Next one posts 1 (or more, if you can think of more) cliche and so on!

The black guy will always die; there are no exceptions to this rule.

If a flying vehicle runs out of fuel and crashes, it still explodes as if the tank were full

- When someone's being chased by a murderer in his/her house (or someone elses for that matter), that person always flees upstairs... WHY?! What're you gonna do? Jump out of the window?

- Chicks ALWAYS fall and scream and get killed in horror movies (except for Eden Lake, that chick is AWESOME!)

- Whenever a couple is going hiking, driving, whatever through unknown territory, they get lost and it's the chick that says: 'We're lost.' Upon which the dude answers: 'No, we're not!' (which is in complete contradiction with that other movie cliche: chicks don't know how to read maps. If they don't, it should - logically - be the man who says that they're lost, since the chick led them into unknown territory by reading the map wrong).

- In horror movies: whenever a family moves into a haunted house and they have a dog, almost always the following scene happens: kid's going to bed and his/her arm is hanging out of the bed. The hand gets licked by what the kid thinks is the dog, but then the door opens and the dog walks in. It is then that the kid understands what's going on and if you want to make it into a REAL cliche, this is followed by a close-up of the screaming face of the kid.

In sports movies, the loser team ALWAYS plays the win-at-any-cost team first, then plays every body else, then makes it to the playoffs and beats them by one point. No exceptions. Razz

Also, click here to find clichés and tropes of all shapes and sorts, or just go straight to the ones for movies. Wink

All beds have a special L-shaped top sheet, which reaches up to armpit level on women but only to waist level on men.

In any type of sport movie, a player on the field can look up into a crowd of 1 billion and immediately spot their loved one.
