Emoria Character Icons

Ryona and Sighlent have expressed an interest in helping me with these. They'll appear at the top of each of our posts in the Emoria RP.

I was originally thinking of having a framed bust picture of each character, with elaborate gold vines going to the right across the top of the post. The picture would be on the left, and to the right of the picture would be the full character name and title.

Here's what I have so far. It's very simple, just a curved frame with all the icons centered inside it. I've left enough room to add more things inside the frame, so we can play with colors or coats of arms inside or whatever.

Ok so I've just been toying with this for...well the past few hours...and this is what I'm going for. Let me know if I'm working in the right direction or not. Yes, I know there are no vines. Finding vine brushes that work with this idea was impossible. Believe me I looked! I found some but they just didn't look right. But yeah.

There is also this style. Don't mind all of the mistakes it would be a lot cleaner. This is just to see where I need to go.

And I just downloaded a BUNCH of new fonts so...yeah. But for now I'm going to sleep crash. I'll be back on in...a while.

Some of the characters up there aren't in the actual RP, but I wasn't sure if you were just displaying them for fun or whatever

I might play around with a couple but I think that Sighlent is doing a far better job than I could.

It's not done yet, you guys. This is just the planning phase.

Here's the direction we're going in:
The main thing we need is to have something common for everyone. Something to validate them all as being in the same world/RP. That's where the gold frame and vines (or something) come in.

The frame and vines (or something) should be the same for everyone. Customization, if any, would come inside the frame.

I like your first idea, Sighlent. That's pretty close to what I was thinking. What I would say is make it more horizontal. (it's not as if it can GO much more flat; just saying, we want to conserve vertical space)

What we want is some gold. Gold frame, gold vines (or something). And we want it to have 3D substance. I'll be searching online for some metal-type stuff, or something. I'm not sure how it'll work.

Anyway that's my idea. If we can really get it to pop out, that'll be awesome. Maybe we can add a shadow, too. ^^

You can make the gold look more gold if you like.

We'll probably use this or a variation of it.
This isn't exactly what I was thinking at first, but it evolved as I made it.
I'm pretty happy how it is now, but who knows how much better it might be if you and Sighlent take a crack at it. xD

(it should be easy to make the white transparent, I think. I made sure to have no white in the gold stuff, so that there's no trouble there. ^^)

Perhaps sigh can make the backgrounds for the characters, and use her awesome fonts for the name?

hmmm, let's de-saturate the gold the tiniest bit, maybe. see how that looks.

As for how the signatures would be set up...
I'm not really sure yet. Here's a super-rough concept.

I'm not sure what to do with the picture background, whether it should be colored clouds or metallic gold or scenery or what. *shrug*

I think you might have desaturated it a BIT too much Kalon. Because now to me it just looks brown, and brown is uck! If we're going for more regal I would say it would be a closer color to Ryona's just not as BRIGHT. I just got on and have a few more threads to check out but I'm pulling up Photoshop as I type. I have a FEW more ideas I'd like to toy around with first because you guys really got me thinking but then we'll go from there.

Oh and also I was thinking and wondering about this last night. I think we should just put the country rather than WHAT they are because some people don't have a specific title.

This is honestly by far my favourite as of right now. I don't mean to offend anyone, but gold can look tacky very easily and I personally believe this looks extremely elegant and regal.

Wow really? I mean I have more brushes like that but if you want I can do a test round of all of the characters to see if everyone likes them? It would take a lot of time on my behalf but I'm willing to put it in. I can also give a demonstration of all of the brushes like that I have and we can pick which one we like best?


Also here are the color schemes I worked out. This is my asking if they're alright.

I actually wanted to try and make everyone's different but I don't know if that would be alright with you guys.

@BOH I'm glad you like it.

It would be neat to have them all different, but it would also take a considerable amount of work. I think I leave this project to both of you, and stay out of it, since two creative touches is more than enough (not to mention my plate is piled quite high enough!)

Well like I said I really don't mind doing these. I have both the time and resources it's just up to you guys. And also I'm willing to work with everyone to figure out what type of feel they want. See like with Ryona's I was going with slightly sinister and with Silvone's I was going with regal!

Haha. I know I kinda made it up the other day in IRC because someone said something that was just like...omg I want to kill myself and facepalm worthy all at the same time.

Ok so if you guys want me to do everyone's random then I'm going to need to know if you want their first and last name or just their first name because I just finished mine if I do this way and mine only has her first name. But here it is. Comments, questions, concerns are all appreciated!
